ha, they are not better in any single muscle group at all, the only difference is that their midsections are bloated lumps of insulin and mutated GH intestines
-

No improvement in V Taper, waist, hip and flare and when you take into account that FDB pic is from a past his Prime Sergio in 1981.....a Prime Sergio in 1972 the Difference is on another level again, no one doubts for a second Jay and Phil are bigger and Harder, better conditioned etc etc, but better in the FDB than SERGIO?....matter of opinion...imo...NO... BIGGER but not "better"

the funny thing is indeed that hes lighter but sergio looks bigger than both of these guys haha.

Oliva looks like shit compared to the guys today, deal with it bitch.

He would look like a light heavyweight next to guys like Jay, for sure. I wouldn't want to look like Jay, although I respect his build and the kind of drive it takes to get there.
The top guys in the 90s were as good as it got, IMO.
-
i respect you too Kiwiol.

i dont know. they are both about the same height...and all sergio's arm measurements would be at least equal to jays...his chest and lat development were the same...jay would outweight him for sure due to a midsection double in size and leg measurement much larger...but i think side by side oliva would look lighter, but overall more impressive due to his taper and proportions

The feeling is mutual, Mars.
We need to shortlist a bunch of pros to endorse next year. I'll organise a meeting soon.

Oliva was about 220 - 230 lb, while Jay is 270 something pounds and maybe a fair bit leaner, so it would be interesting to see how they look next to each other. Jay would have a lot more muscle and would beat Oliva if you look at it from the IFBB judging criteria, but yes, Oliva would look better of the 2, IMO also.

Sergio = probably the greatest Genetics even to this day, full muscle length on every body part. If he used the drugs these characters use and given the same circumstances in defined condition, date and time maybe he would be Mr O 2010.

Always hear a lot of talk about genetics.
There is the difference between someone like Phil who people say has great genetics and Sergio, someone who was truly gifted.
Sergio would look a 1000 times better head to head, the weight disparity is all gut and legs. His upperbody would make them both look like amateurs.
The fact that someone with Jay's structure is winning Olympia's is a travesty.

Depends whose arms you're talkin' about, dawg.
-
I keep reading about how Sergio was around 220. I have an interview with him and he says at his peak he was 253. His condition in 1972 would wipe the floor with todays pros.
-
SERGIO OLIVIA WAS ON OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL, AND GREAT BODYBUILDER WITH HUGE MUSCLES. CAN'T COMPARE HIM WITH TODAYS BODYBUILDERS. GREAT WILL REMAIN GREAT.
-
sergio looks like garbage next to jay and phil
doesnt matter how much baby oil he slathers on himself, he cant hide that his stage bodyfat was 6 weeks out in todays conditon

On stage he was about 185. Offseason probally about the 253 he claimed.going from gut (bulking) to abs is 30 pounds of fat, to onstage bf levels another 30.
Anyhow bbing is a freak niche sport at this point. Pro's are getting shorter every year, and look more and more like shit.

he used to compete around 220 in the 60s , I think he was 240lbs at his best in 72
Sergio 72 wouldn't wipe the floor with todays pros , from an aesthetics , shape and structure point he would but he is severely lacking in terms of conditioning and overall polish even back then he was which is part of the reason he lost to Arnold
I think his shape is much better than 99% of todays guys but that wouldn't be enough

Who gives a shit. You can alter conditioning, you can't do fuck all about structure.
Comparing Sergio to Jay is like comparing Mozart to Lady Gaga.

Sergio would lose a LOT of size in order to get into the type of conditioning these guys have , however they have the added benefits of HGH/IGF etc so it would be a different story if he had their supplementation

Spot on. But if he did pack on the size of today's pros after taking their stack, I wonder if he still would look as aesthetic as he used to. Look at what happened to Ronnie, whose structure changed for the worse after he ballooned up in weight. In fact, a lot of pros, from Branch to Jay looked a lot better when they were lighter, around the time they turned pro.
-
Oliva would look more out of place than Frankhouser
