During the prejudging at the Olympia there was some moron who kept yelling "grapefruit" at Kai Greene while he was on stage. Of course no one in the audience so much as cracked a smile all while this idiot is screaming at a man whom he actually paid to see on stage. Of course the retard in the audience is some bucktoothed jackoff who weighs all of 170lbs and is dressed in gym clothes. As this man was yelling at the stage I asked myself.
1.) Why does this man feel it appropriate to yell at the stage as if Kai can hear him?
2.) Why do 90% of the people who attend the Olympia wear gym clothes outside of the gym?
3.) Does the idiot screaming "grapefruit" realize that not only is he not funny but that he paid money to watch grown men flex onstage in speedo's.
Can anyone explain to me where people like this come from?

Here is the deal. I understand how strange bodybuilding is and that paying to watch grown men flex onstage to many seems a little less than heterosexual. So I find it odd to see a man taunt another man for his sexual conduct all while sitting in an audience cheering on other men in speedos.
I am sorry wearing gym pants and cut off t-shirts is not the equivalent of wearing a jersey to a sporting event. It is possible to showcase your hard work in the gym and still dress fashionably. Gym clothes are for the gym, wearing them anywhere else is just sad. The Olympia audience is stacked with these idiots rocking cut off t-shirts and 16 inch arms....it is just sad.

Nice shoes, jeans and a colared shirt. I have competed at the National level on a few occasions myself so I l know you can still be fairly jacked and dress fashionably.

Second, the guy yelling "grape fruit" is fucking hilarious.
And third, the fact that he weighed 170 means that he is healthier than everyone of the walking corpses on that stage.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I bought an NPC tank top while at the expo and the guy at the booth asked me to try it on over my shirt to make sure it fit and at that point I decided to wear it. I think some of the people wear what they buy at the expo and others live in Vegas where it is very hot and gym clothes are appropriate basically year round.
As for someone making fun of Kai at the show that is not cool especially from someone willing to pay money to see the show but I can only guess he went to see another bodybuilder compete and not Kai. Kai would have been top three if he was in condition although that has already been discussed. He made a mistake and will not repeat it next time.

In the early days, those guys were using basic test and were actually cycling on and off. Today, the drug dosage amounts have gone through the roof and they are using all sorts of crazy shit beyond regular test. That's why guys like Benaziza, Munzer, etc. are gone. And why guys like Mike Francois, Flex Wheeler, Kris Dim, etc. cannot compete anymore...

So rest assured Mindspin I am not cleaning anyone's bathroom...not even my own. As a matter of having balls to step on stage I say this as there are a million guys who say they are bodybuilders but never actually let themselves be put under the microscope by a panel of judges. I applaud anyone who goes to the gym regularly as they are already much more disciplined than the vast majority of American's and I am even more impressed with anyone who has the dedication to step on a stage and display their hard work and sacrifice in front of people who are essentially looking for your flaws. This goes for both drug free and AAS assisted bodybuilders.
So some idiot dressed in gym clothes yet looks like he has barely touched a weight who is screaming and making fun of one of the best bodybuilders in the world at an event he likely paid close to $100 to attend makes little sense to me. Personally I don't give a crap about what any of the competitors do in their spare time. Several competitors are known felons...yet no one screams felon when some of these guys step on stage. Point being is the loudest idiot at a show is always some jackoff from bumblef#ck no place who has been lifting for a year and is rocking an under armour shirt to show off his buggy whip arms. Maybe the guy went to the Olympia for the sole reason of yelling "grapefruit" when Kai took the stage. Maybe the guy was given a ticket by a fellow pro who really dislikes everything about Kai and just so happens to be very passive aggressive and this was a way to fuck with Kai.
I could see a few people buying a ticket to go see "Kramar's"(Micheal Richards) comedy act for the sole reason of yelling out "racist" while he tried to perform.

Drugs have been part of bodybuilding ever since the 60s I think, so the illegality of it has almost always been present. "Thong battles" as you like to call them is what competitive bb is all about: competition. If you view them as "thong battles" then that's your choice, but again its always been part of it. To be opposed to any of these two aspects is to be opposed to things that've always been part of bb, so the question is are you a fan of bb or are you just a fan of lifting weights and training?
Its hypocritical when said person was a competitive bodybuilder in the past and used drugs, but now decides its all "wrong" and start to mock it all of a sudden.

They just opened a ufc gym in rosemead california now thats what you call being Surrounded by dipshits, i almost never drive thru Rosemead only when im heading to vegas, but it just happened i was hitting the outlets in ontario and i stopped at Hooters for a drink when i see what can only be described as a record breaking group of dipshits for the grand opening of the UFC GYM .... Drugs have been part of bodybuilding ever since the 60s I think, so the illegality of it has almost always been present. "Thong battles" as you like to call them is what competitive bb is all about: competition. If you view them as "thong battles" then that's your choice, but again its always been part of it. To be opposed to any of these two aspects is to be opposed to things that've always been part of bb, so the question is are you a fan of bb or are you just a fan of lifting weights and training?
Its hypocritical when said person was a competitive bodybuilder in the past and used drugs, but now decides its all "wrong" and start to mock it all of a sudden.
Speaking for myself, I enjoy lifting weights and improving my strength, health and appearance through training and nutrition. The competitive part of bodybuilding is comical to me.

What is most comical to me is that having worked these events for years the same heckler making fun of competitors, who wears gym clothes 24/7, who literally foams at the mouth for free protein shaker cups is pretty much what 90% of this board is comprised of. That said when you post on Getbig you gotta know you are gonna get your balls busted. I thought perhaps there were others who attend these events who are just as sick as I am of the complete dipshit whackos who attend. I likely should have asked this question on a board where the average member is not the exact type of person I am so irritated by.

The same could be said of ANY sport: NBA, NFL, tennis, soccer, gymastics, etc.. you name it......FEW reach the top professional level. The whole majority try and fail to do the same, most possibly quit after trying too much.
What do most of them get out of it?
I also see you like MMA a lot, the same thing could be said of thousands of MMA amateurs and wannabes......who train, fight, and do all of that to end up achieving nothing other than deformed ears, beat up face, possible brain damage, etc.
Its all a matter of choice, no reason to mock any of it.

Actually, I know a few of the people who post on here. Everyone of them is a successful individual who is nothing like what you described. I for one, graduated from business school. I own a successful business. And I don't always walk around in gym clothes. Just because we don't agree with you, does not mean that we're a bunch of derelicts.

If that is the right percentage, then there are not "plenty of successful BBers". I don't think a super small percentage of the whole population is significant enough to say that the few outliers justify spending one's whole life in bodybuilding. It's safe to say that if one tries to succeed at bodybuilding, there is a strong probability that they will not be successful and will not make any significant amount of money. They humilate themselves by getting on a stage in baby oil wearing tiny underwear to flex their body for an 80% male audience all equipped with cameras to watch the event later in a more private setting.

I manage 14 States for one of the largest advertising agencies in the country and I can tell you that the discipline that I applied to winning on the bodybuilding stage has helped me in my professional career. My company has no ties to the bodybuilding world, that said I can tell you that my success in bodybuilding (albeit minimal) was one of many reason I was hired originally for the job I have.

Mr. Magoo....here is the absolute truth the last company I worked for had a quarterly newsletter and when I first qualified for the USA's my company did an entire piece on me as they wanted to illustrate that their employees were able to pursue and succeed in endeavors outside of work....an interest piece if you will. When I left my last employer I added a tag line that was vague within my resume that would open the conversation about my achievements outside of work. When I interviewed for this job I was able to talk about my achievements within my profession and within m personal life which included bodybuilding...this separated me from the rest of the pack and was in part responsible for me getting this job. The world is full of average and employer's are always looking for exceptional people. Bodybuilding like many endeavors can be used to demonstrate work ethic, diligence, patience, discipline and sacrifice. Bodybuilding like many things can either enhance your life or become a detriment.

In my line of work people care about one thing and one thing only....RESULTS and ACHIEVEMENT. If you can demonstrate that you are a results driven and achievement focused I promise you will be WAY ahead of the curve. I have only been asked a few times about drugs and when asked I give them a confused look and say I have no idea what they are talking about and that even if I did questions like that in the work place are incredibly inappropriate and grounds for disciplinary action by human resources. It is called creating a hostile work environment and will get your walking papers handed to you quickly.
