If that is the right percentage, then there are not "plenty of successful BBers". I don't think a super small percentage of the whole population is significant enough to say that the few outliers justify spending one's whole life in bodybuilding. It's safe to say that if one tries to succeed at bodybuilding, there is a strong probability that they will not be successful and will not make any significant amount of money. They humilate themselves by getting on a stage in baby oil wearing tiny underwear to flex their body for an 80% male audience all equipped with cameras to watch the event later in a more private setting.

I manage 14 States for one of the largest advertising agencies in the country and I can tell you that the discipline that I applied to winning on the bodybuilding stage has helped me in my professional career. My company has no ties to the bodybuilding world, that said I can tell you that my success in bodybuilding (albeit minimal) was one of many reason I was hired originally for the job I have.

Mr. Magoo....here is the absolute truth the last company I worked for had a quarterly newsletter and when I first qualified for the USA's my company did an entire piece on me as they wanted to illustrate that their employees were able to pursue and succeed in endeavors outside of work....an interest piece if you will. When I left my last employer I added a tag line that was vague within my resume that would open the conversation about my achievements outside of work. When I interviewed for this job I was able to talk about my achievements within my profession and within m personal life which included bodybuilding...this separated me from the rest of the pack and was in part responsible for me getting this job. The world is full of average and employer's are always looking for exceptional people. Bodybuilding like many endeavors can be used to demonstrate work ethic, diligence, patience, discipline and sacrifice. Bodybuilding like many things can either enhance your life or become a detriment.

In my line of work people care about one thing and one thing only....RESULTS and ACHIEVEMENT. If you can demonstrate that you are a results driven and achievement focused I promise you will be WAY ahead of the curve. I have only been asked a few times about drugs and when asked I give them a confused look and say I have no idea what they are talking about and that even if I did questions like that in the work place are incredibly inappropriate and grounds for disciplinary action by human resources. It is called creating a hostile work environment and will get your walking papers handed to you quickly.
