This is for all the getbig haters. What getbig don't understand is bodybuilder superior in everyway, thought, athleticism, cock size, wealth. You can never own a bodybuilder. Once bodybuilder gets hands on you game over. No win.
-
This is what happened: Around 2:40, the bodybuilder gets extremely horny and then the video becomes pretty gay until 4mins, when the bodybuilder gets pissed that the jiujitsu f@g doesn't want to fuck. :o

Is that kind of like a teased dog jumping on someones back and humping them?
-
This is fucking retarded hahahahaha...
What kind of assholes pair up a fight where there's 100 lb weight difference? What does that 250lb douchebag trying to do?
It's like beating up a girl. Sure you win, but you beat a girl.

Are you kidding? Perhaps you are not familiar with some of the submission techniques in Jiu-Jitsu but the muscle man tapped to an arm bar. That's why Pedro's camp is cheering and muscle man sulking.
Watch it again. They even showed the submission in slow motion. Jeeze.

Sticks and stones my friend. Besides, it's the arm bar that will break your bones.
Just to inform the clueless, the submission begins at around 3:59. The bodybuilder tries to stand up but falls back down on his chest as Pedro follows his momentum and pivots from being on his back to now turning on to his stomach so now he has his full weight on muscle man's extended arm as he is essentially lying on his arm with his legs still hooked over muscle man's head. It doesn't get any better than this for an arm bar and is much easier to dislocate a person arm in this position then from the guard. I mean, they even repeated the move in slow motion to dumb it down for the masses.
Notice how they got the flexing Mr. Utah out of there pronto as Pedro and his students celebrate.
Thread fail.

Lol totally clueless thread, 'karate' is Brazilian jujitsu and the Brazilian almost gets a triangle choke. At one point which would have been even more embarrassing. Besides top position the bodybuilder has nothing

Sometimes I am ashamed that I am involved in bodybuilding, I mean how many idiots this sport has....................

If I were "Mr. Utah" I would have shook the man's hand, admitted that as a fighter, I sucked, he was better---because bodybuilding involves lifting weights, not fighting, 2 totally diff disciplines, and then I would have invited him into the gym...step into that arena...

We have already discussed this 100000000000000000000000 0 times.
Bodybuilders are insecure little bitches.
Bodybuilders try to act as if they were athletes, fighters, business owners, powerlifters, strongmen, trainers, gurus or what ever, JUST NOT bodybuilders.
Bodybuilders are totally unable to realize people laugh about them, and thus they try to prove themselves all the time.

Spot on. And what bbdr's need to realize (some do anyway) is that it is all about look. Has nothing to do with earning power, charactor, or athletisisim. Its all about LOOK & EGO.

All the MMA man humping fags are coming out of the woodwork in this thread. Beautiful to see we have so many closet cases here :D

i couldnt tell whaqt happened caus someone was tappin over their old copy of 'caddyshack' and the gddamn cinematography was shot to shit :-\

Unless a dude has at least 2 years of BJJ - most of the time it is not going to be any more effective than anything else in a street fight.
BJJ gu gets clocked in the mouth while standing - BJJ = shit.
BJJ is good - but it is not the holy grail people try to say it is.

You seem to be blissfully clueless to the fact that the bodybuilder lost. It is no coincidence that the title is "Gracie" Jiu-Jitus vs Bodybuiilder. This is a very old tape taken at a time when the Gracie's were promoting their martial art. Numerous videos were made where these random fights would take place. Many were intended to be featured in Gracie tapes such as the "Gracie in Action" series. The tape is obviously poorly made and it's hard to follow the action if you are not familiar with ground fighting. But you would think the outcome was obvious just by the crowd's reactions in addition to the reaction of the fighter's themselves
I appreciate your love and admiration for the oiled men in thongs but the fact is you can't compare the two. If you want to be a bodybuilder you train in bodybuilding and if you want to be a fighter you train in fighting. And besides, lets compare apples to apples. Take any bodybuilder that stepped on the last Olympia stage and put him in the ring, cage or parking lot with someone like Fedor. I chose Fedor because he's exceptionally soft and flabby for a high level fighter and if one didn't know who he was one would just think that's he's your typical over weight middle age man who still has not mastered the fine art of facial expressions. Do you really think any of your bodybuilding heroes would have a chance?
"Closet cases" huh? I see some epic projecting there. From a fag perspective you really want to compare an MMA fight with a bodybuilding competition? Not a lot pf schmoes is MMA.

Skinny dweeb meltdown because you are tiny and wish you were a big muscular beast.

He'd still tap out like a bitch though, a big bitch

I wouldn't even have to fight. Hit a most muscular and the guy would run the other way.

This guy in the video has a BJJ black belt, which takes about 7-10 years to get.
How would a BJJ guy with 2 years have fared under similar circumstances?

Exactly.... Bodybuilder with no formal fight training destroys this tit with 7-10 years training. Imagine a bodybuilder with some MMA training. He would be unstoppable force.
-
In a cage very well, its fuckin easy to take someone down in a cage, on an open Matt like in the video its much harder. However the bodybuilder wasn't actually doing anything. An amature would have beaten him eventually

Eventually, like after 6 months hormonized with HGH and trenbolina 6-10 reps 4 sets ::)

Que Paleass meltdown in 5.. That little bottom twink has more growth flowing through him them a stone age cave man. How dare he post on a bbing site and betray his roots. Ron should time him out.

"Eventually" does not cut the mustard in real life.
For 90% of people Krav Maga or Muy Thai is a more realistic self defense option than BJJ for street confrontations.

It should come as no surprise that a typical GetBig meat head lacking any coherent argument or able to address any of the pertinent issues can only come up with the same old tiresome insults that has devolved into meaningless cliches: meltdown, you're skinny/twink, and of course the perennial favorite, you're gay.
As I mentioned before, that video is very old and I saw it when it first came out. Rorion at the time, was focused on promoting Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and had plans of putting out a series of tape titled: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Action. This would simply feature a series of fights between a Gracie Jiu-Jitsue practitioner and opponents from all other martial arts, combat sports and random thugs. Since there was an open challenge in those that anyone who could defeat any of the Gracie's would receive $10,000 there were regular close door fights at the academy. Eventually a lot of the challengers would have to get through one of the students first before they got a shot at Royce (this was obviously before the UFC). Nobody even got through the students. All these fights would be film and many of the students would tape their own fights and hope it would be featured in the "Action" series. There was no YouTube at the time. Pedro, who came to California with Rickson Gracie but soon moved to Utah, was one who had this fight filmed for the "Action" series. Because of the poor quality it was never use. In fact, Rorion abandon the project altogether after "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu In Action 2" simply because it became too monotonous.
Even though I walked you through the submission you fail to see it. Even though Pedro's team is cheering their victory and bodybuilder quickly leaves the scene you fail to see the victor.
-

Again your ignorance is glaringly apparent. This bodybuilder did indeed have training. He was a wrestler in school and did have fight training. It was known before the match. And you can see it clearly if you had any idea of the fighting arts. Look how he reverse Pedro's sweeps and how he postures up while in the guard. You don't do this unless you've had some training. And besides, it simply does not comport with common sense. If someone had no training in fighting it would hardly be a leap in logic to conclude that he simply has no interest in fighting. So why would someone with no fight training which implies no interest in being a fighter want to step in with a Black Belt to fight?
-

Oh boy, you obviously have never been in a cage, which you can use to actually support you, nor an open mat (not "Matt") where wrestlers, Judokas, Sambo figters as well as Jui-Jitsu practitioners have been taking people down for centuries.

I can somewhat understand the boxing vs. MMA thing as both are combat sports. But MMA vs. Bodybuilding? One has nothing to do with the other. It's telling that bodybuilders like to portray themselves as being fighters and are far more resentful toward real fighters and comments/ridicules them frequently. In the MMA world bodybuilding is not even a blip on their screen. Bodybuilders in the MMA world are simply a non issue and not a consideration. They have no desire or the slightest inclination of portraying themselves as bodybuilders saved the parodic caricature muscle poses during a weigh in.
It doesn't take an uberman analysis to see why this is so. Bodybuilders are some of the most insecure humans on earth. Many got into it because they wanted to be big and strong so that they will garner respect from others. But deep down they know that it's all show. "It's not how much you lift but how much you look like you can lift." To quote our own Bob Chick. And he's right. Bodybuilding is all about appearance. With fighters it's the opposite. What you look like you can do means nothing compared to what you can actually do.
Bodybuilders single out and resent fighters because these are the ones that will exposed them for what they really are. That most are not especially tough and most are certainly not skilled fighters. How can they be? Their time is spent lifting weights and building their bodies. You can't hold a tremendous amount of muscle mass while following an MMA training regime.
So, my pathetically insecure Sticky friend, keep thinking that big muscles in and of itself will make you a good fighter. Most of us know that one of your biggest fears is that you will be out in public with you girlfriend or your gangsta posse and meet up on the wrong side of someone like a pudgy 5'9" B.J. Penn or a skinny/fat Anderson Silva. The drug enhance muscles will do nothing to help you but in fact prove to be a hindrance, as show time and time again. And the pain you will feel will only be exceeded by the brutal humiliation you will experience. You would never be able to show your face in public and have to leave town and start a new identity.
** cue the sharp and biting "meltdown" response **

Pellius you misread my thread. I was responding to the thread 2 before mine. And I have trained in a. Cage and open Matt in both mma and sambo. The cage is without doubt easier. The gracie jj guy would have beaten the bodybuilder in half the time in a cage or somewhere with walls

You cannot handle the sheer mass of a 260lb lean ivory/ebony mountain of muscle barreling down on you. It would be like using karate moves to stop a car. You are a fool!

What about a bar with boots on, street clothes, and chairs and bar stools?
BJJ is good for what it is - but in a real street fight - like in a bar, street, or home self defense situation - I would go wioth Muay Thai or Krav Maga for most people.

Where is Tank Abbot when you need him?

You'd be calling me "massa" within 3 minutes. Of course, I'd give you another bitch slap and say, "Call me Sensei."

Anybody is at a severe disadvantage when fighting someone with weapons. If it's a knife -- don't even try. Obviously a gun isn't even a consideration.
But what makes you thing that a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner would limit himself to just grappling if a Muay Thai/Karate/Krav Maga won't. Royler Gracie once told how he and his brother Rickson were gang up on at the beach. One use his surfboard another got a hold of a big stick or tree branch and used that as a baseball bat to defend themselves.
Having said that, in my experience, most street fights are either in close quarter: bars, Mcdonalds (LOL) or open space like a parking lot. In close quarter Muay Thai isn't as effective because you simply don't have the space to use your kicks. Of course you have your elbows and knees which will be more than enough against and untrained fighter but I would prefer Jiu-Jitsu because such encounters invariably end up in a clinch. Different in a parking lot. I can't speak of Krav Maga because I have no experience in it. But since it comes from the Israelis I would take it very seriously. When you entire existence consist of being surrounded by people that want to kill you to tend to evolve into a tough bunch.
Also, I believe it's easier to take someone out with a submission hold like a choke of snapping an elbow. In a real, intense fight situation a person can really take a beating and keep fighting. Remember how much punishment Rodney King took from a group of cops with night sticks? A choke, and he was in a perfect position for this to be applied, would have ended the situation quickly.

Let me ask you this - in a bar or on asphalt - mind you this is rickson - would this work for 95% of people?
-

The Gracie's developed their version of Jiu-Jitsu by their experience fighting on the streets. Their findings, and you will see this if you youtube random street fights, is that most fights end up on the ground. It doesn't matter if their a mat, sand, grass or asphalt. Real street fights between angry and hyped up adversaries are nothing like the bouncing around, feeling each other out, jabs and kicks. They simply clash and try to take each other's heads off. You are more likely to get injured when being throw on a hard ground which why you want to be the one doing the take downs.
Rickson fought many times on a hard surface. I got there too late when he pounded someone into oblivion outside a Toys-R-Us parking lot on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance, CA. I have to admit that even though the guy was still lying on the ground, face bloodied he still kept yelling at Rickson on how he was going to kill him.
Again, and I want to make this clear, in a street fight you do not want to go to the ground. If you can do what B.J. Penn (first and foremost a Jiu-Jitsu fighter) did to Matt Hughes in their last fight that's always the first choice. But in really life sometimes you don't have a choice
No tatami mats -- no problem.
