It's sunset there now and there hasn't been any recent fire between the two so that will probably be the end of that. I was kind of waiting up to see if something else happened, guess I'll go to bed now that war isn't breaking out, heh.

Good Grief!!! This planet is run by madmen!

My grandfather was killed in Korean War I, wouldn't it be ironic if I was killed in Korean War II?

failed again.....as usual:
A senior administration official said the president was woken up shortly before 4 a.m. by National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, who updated the president on the situation. Obama will get further updates during his daily intelligence briefing before heading to Indiana, where he’s scheduled to make remarks on the economy.

I really hinks he does not give a rats ass.
After the failure he just had in Korea with the trade agreement situation, I believe he will just punt on this.

america has been taunting north korea for years.

I think they are just kicking Obama when he is down after the humiliating defeat he had in Seoul.

@straw boy
Usually there's something in the "agreement" that mentions margin calls. However, these days such things would be done via email, or a notice when you log into your account. However, the broker is more likely to just liquidate your positions when your equity percentage drops below a certain percent.

like I said
they don't call
I haven't gotten an actual margin call (on the phone) since ~ mid 2000 when I was trying to trade bond futures

That's the way securities trading has evolved over the years.

Oh what a surprise Mons Anus decides this must be America's fault. Different handle same stupid fucker behind the keyboard

Don't worry, I'm sure as we type the UN, maybe even the security council is drafting harshly written letter condemning North Korea.

If that is the case, why didn't they attack the US military ships back in July while they did drills and dropped anti-sub bombs? This was a few months after North Korea had sunk a South Korean warship.

NK responding to SK running military drills i believe. NK is worried that it's future heir will be seen and is seen as weak, so it's stepping up it's aggression. Notice also they had an American tour a state of the art nuclear facility. They are trying to protect the son and the Jong-Il dynasty.

NK - is probably low on cash, resources, and materials and will now SUCCESSFULLY shake down Obama for more $ $ $ $, which he will give them.
-
This is standard operating procedure.
I do not see why people are surprised by this.
It happens quite regularly.

Perhaps they will. The cost of going to war is far greater at this point than sending fuel and oil to NK. You don't seem to understand that if and when you go to war, people die. Are you prepared to see American troops dying in the Korean peninsula again because you would prefer we didn't negotiate for peace first?

No - that is why these people are masters at the shakedown.
Seems like they have Jesse & Al on retainer.

I'm not really surprised necessarily, but I can't recall them attacking land so close to military bases, which there are quite a few close to where the rockets landed. This certainly isn't the first time they've barked, and definitely won't be the last I'm sure.

I would send a few JDAMS at the missle site like Reagan did to Lybia after Lockerbie, tell the world to stuff it.

And when they retaliate with nuclear weapons on Seoul what then? You don't seem to understand that Lybia is far less dangerous than NK. NK has a military with nothing to lose and actual WMD's not Bush made up WMD's. You escalate like that you have to understand it will create an all out war with a country that has Nuclear weapons. You really want to go down that route??

Charles Krauthammer believes that USA should threaten China and North Korea with allowing or arming Japan with nuclear weapons. China is the one that provides North Korea with whatever they need.
-
Perhaps some of you are unaware that the Korean war never ended. The fighting stopped with an armistice agreement in 1953.

Obama at this point seems strung out on something and acting out of mental illness and delusion at best.
He is s out of his element and ver his head at this point I would not be surprised if he resigned.

Isn't this always the case... lately it's becoming stale. the ol' military drills raising their ugly heads again!
Why is it these crisis always seem to occur when someone is running a drill? >:(

why? He is bored to death, hates the job, the GOP now has a cock block on everything he wants to do, faces a beating in 2012 by almost any possible GOP challenger, possibly even Sarah if he continues with his bizarre agenda, etc.

All the more reason why he wouldn't quit. He'll stick it out and cash in like all other politicians before him.

Reagan was one of the MAIN contributors to the state we are in now, so it's like saying being killed by getting run over is better than getting stabbed to death. They both suck.

How did Reagan contribute to the mess we are in, over 20 years ago?
-
How did Reagan contribute to the mess we are in, over 20 years ago?
He was a massive proponent of deregulation which started the unraveling of the yarn, if you will. He made deregulation and ideological theme. In order to do this he needed plausible support from the people whom the regulation was ultimately intended to protect. He used a variety of bumper sticker type slogans like “getting the government off our backs.” He created theatrical hypothetical villains and was celebrated for titling his lance at these windmills. He mixed this in with cutting taxes to create enough populist appeal to undertake the removal of many restrictions imposed by government. Thomas Frank explored this phenomenon in more recent years in a book called “What’s the Matter with Kansas.”
Bill Clinton took it even further where Reagan didn't have the balls to go. So it's not like there's one side to the story, there's been a rolling push for government deregulation over the past 20 years through multiple administrations which caused massive imbalances in the markets, created monopolies (Clear Channel gobbling up every media outlet it could controlling the air waves) and eventually allowing sub prime mortgages which were a heavy contributor to the collapse (amongst other things).
That's why I find it so amusing when people outright defend democrats or republicans. There's no such thing. People should be loyal to the ideals of the party, not the party itself. Just take a look at history, when it comes to the important things, the issues that shape our nation, it doesn't matter what side they are on.
-
What "deregulation" specifically did Reagan pass through that contributed to the mess we are in?
Mind you he had a Dem congress most of his term - so what specifically?
-
reagan was a traitor who sold illegal arms to Iran in exchange 4 US hostages/ supplying guerrillas.
do u deny this 3334567?

Who decides whether or not something is important enough to wake the president up for?
