Michael Vick: 'I Would Love To Get Another Dog In The Future'

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said he would love to get another dog in an interview with NBC News and TheGrio.com.
"I would love to get another dog in the future," Vick said. "I think it would be a big step for me in the rehabilitation process. I think just to have a pet in my household and to show people that I genuinely care, and my love and my passion for animals; I think it would be outstanding."
Vick spent 18 months in prison and two months of home confinement after being convicted of running a dogfighting operation. He also served a two-game suspension when he returned to the NFL in 2009.
"If I ever have the opportunity again I will never take it for granted. I miss having a dog right now," Vick explained. "I wish I could. My daughters miss having one, and that's the hardest thing; telling them that we can't have one because of my actions."

Vick has become a star on the Eagles this season, leading them to their current 9-4 record. He has thrown 17 touchdown passes and only four interceptions.
He currently leads the league in Pro-Bowl voting.

Pets are property.
But it's not that simple - Courts can limit the rights of convicted felons, including freedom of movement and private possessions. For example, as a non-felon you have the right to live near or travel onto an elementary school. As a registered sex offender, not so much. Or take a court restraining order that prevents you from going near someone else even in a public space. Even such a basic right as voting is taken away from felons.
Depending on exactly what Vick was convicted of and the laws of that state, the judge can easily prevent him from ever owning another dog.
Vicks is a sadistic sociopath in my opinion, and doesn't deserve to have even the basic right to own a pet.

So in one way, this type of behavior can and more than likey will lead to something worse. If you want to get into the phychology of it, I'll put it in laymen's terms, too much of the gore, sex bullshit isn't good for you, it fucks your shit up and soon will lead to deviant behavior of one's self.

actually, the base head does have a right to do drugs. our country just doesnt recognize it. :)
the street racer doesnt have a right to endanger the lives of other people by driving in an unsafe manner on public roads. he does have a righ to drive as fast and as crazy as he wants to, but only on roads/land where theres no possibility for him to hurt or damage anyone else.

Look into Pitt or Terrier history. They were FAMILY dogs, not fighting dogs.
The problem is this: If you kick three puppies in the head and mistreat them from birth, they are going to be mean mother-effers.
If those three dogs happen to be a 1) Doberman 2) German Shepard and 3) a Pitt Bull Terrier, well, the Pitt Bull will be the best suited for strength and fighting. This behaviour is NOT inherent in their character traits, it's taught to them by asshole owners. The Pitts just are better learners with more genetic muscle and bite.

part of his probation is he cannot own a dog for 3 years. So he is getting another chance but if his reps have a lick of common sense, they would strongly advise him NOT to get on, for image purposes.
