Both exercises are way too often done wrong. For squats, it's the range of motion. For pull ups, a lot of guys wil do them full range but they still do them wrong by rotating their shoulders and using their arms (bis) way too much. Properly done, pull ups are hard. But more people tend to stay away from the squat rack.

Here's what I did today. A set of 10 chins in between every set. Wide grip, close grip, underhand, and behind the neck.
7 sets machine pull overs
5 sets underhand bb rows
5 sets T-Bar rows
5 sets low pulley row
1 set one arm dumbell row
1 set hyperextensions
240 chins today. Wimpy exercise. I do it to stay moving in between sets. Timmy does zero cardio.
Timmy will grow zero with that routine

im back upto 260 and i was managing 3 sets of 10 to 8,,,, but there a bad exersize for me, always end up straining my forearms/biceps

i used to squat, dont do them at all now.... imo theres no essential exersizes

theres plenty people squat, but theres not many actually go below parallel .. or they do with the warm up weights, but the depth gets less and less with each heavier set!
