The worst nightmare ever has become reality!!! :-\ :-\ :-\ Giant cockroach kills and devours baby frog, then kills snake and eats it. Now this is one nasty, ugly thing to behold. Not for the squimish.

Not a cockroach, but of the true bug family, giant water bug to be precise...they have sucking mouth parts. Cockroaches have atypical insect mouthparts...their family consists of the praying mantis and grashoppers.

I know, but genetically this is probably 99.9999999% cockroach. If it looks like a wrench, then call it a wrench. This is truly a horrifying thing...

Naw, see, there are Gaint water bugs, and water bugs, which are "true bugs"...they bite and inject a venom...then ther what the south calls water bugs---but they are really roaches. They tend to be around street lights at night...they are really roaches, but in polite talk they are called "water bugs", because people don't want others to think that they have roaches...

looks like a turtle in the pic. I don't see a baby frog

Great.
Now you did it.
SMM will have a 40 pages meltdown about it.
It's a baby frog, some exotic species that only exists in the remote mountain areas of Brazil and its latin name is Anura suckmymusculus.

If either Bay or tbombz sees this thread's title and fails to notice the word "roach", berzerk is not the word.

They are feared by goldfish/koi owners because they feed on the young fish. The larvae rock as well.
These bugs are the getbiggers among the insects

I expect no less than 10 pages of epic e-war. Many paragraphs shall be spilled before all is said and done, and feelings shall be hurt.
Actually SMM has no feelings I have determined, he simply changes his attention to someone else proving he is wrong in a thread somewhere.
Has he been the same way the whole 7 years that he has been here?

Ha,I wish no war, it's just that as kid I wanted to be a entomologist, zoologist, or paleontologist...every book that I read when I was under 12 was graduate level Animal books, knowing the Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, and Genus of the animals was exciting to my young mind

Actually, mantids and grasshoppers, as well as roaches, are classified in seperate genuses now. They were all lumped together at one time though. Good to see another nature nerd on here!
