good enough for re-racking your weights?
-
no,, only on the leg press or hack squat is acceptable,, even for hormonized pupils.
jd 15 approved (my first gh impression...and last. lol)
-
No
That's too heavy for women.
-
good enough for re-racking your weights?
it's fine
-
it's fine
how is it fine? Leaving a plate means you didnt put the weight away. No hate, but if people are too lazy to take weights off then I think they're too lazy to even work out hard. yes? no? maybe?
-
it's fine
Agreed

because if u cant bench 135 u shouldn't even be lifting weights u should be doing pushups
-
Agreed
thank you
-
If it was acceptable then the bar would weigh 135. I'm a trainer and most of my clients can't do 135. It is annoying for me to spend extra time asking the lazy guy that left his weight on to leave the area as he found it.
-
I do it on the leg press at my gym since it's pathetically easy and I've never seen even the weakest of twinks doing less than that. Otherwise I unload the whole thing always.
-
In my opinion yes. i leave it all the time.
-
most of my clients can't do 135.
kill urself
-
Leaving one plate (45 lb) is fine on the bench, squat rack, leg press, seated calf. For the Smith, free barbell (we have some that sit of a rack with an elevated platform that I use for stiff leg deads), hacks it should be stripped. The worse offenders by far are those who load the leg press for their 1/8 ROM reps and just leave it for someone else to strip.
-
Take it off, always. Leaving it is a asshole move. Why load the the leg press with 45's, you Americans can't affort 100's/50 kg plates? ::) :D
-
always leave it
-
take them off ya lazy fucks
-
I never put my weights away.
Job security for someone at the gym
-
All plates should be unloaded upon completion with the apparatus, PERIOD. No excuses. Folks who fail to do so are fuckasses who don't give two shits about those who will come after.
The strongest and most accomplished of lifters usually unload all their plates. It's an unwritten gym etiquette deal.
No one wants to begin his session having to unload some other lazy fuck's weights.
>:(
-
Always always always take everything off!!!! That is just good gym etiquette, as a gym manager my biggest pet peeves are dumbasses who leave plates loaded on the bar. I hate this shit I'm not there to clean up after your lazy asses I'm there to run the damn place. Yep you hit a nerve with that one on me :)

Relax and take a deep breath....it's gonna be ok big guy.

No
That's too heavy for women.
WHo gives a shit what is too heavy for them?
Now that you said that, I'm going to leave plates on bar every time from now on Hhahah ;D Must suck to be a woman :D

This! I cannot stand it when people do not put their weights away.
-
Neither can I really, and I ask who left them on, and if they`re dumb enough to tell me,I tell `em to take`em off and rack `em.
Who am I Mr.Belvedere? :)
-
DB's is different.
I always put them away but leaving a few weights on a bar is no big deal.
Plus if you come into the gym and there is 135 already loaded on the bar takes less hassle to get started!
-
It leaves the impression someone might be using it. It's a PIA asking around if someone is on it while trying not to interrupt someone' set. Leg press no big deal since hardly anyone does legs anyway.

I guess I just give a shout around the gym as my gym is small.

Are 45s too heavy for you?
-
Are 45s too heavy for you?
On the leg press? No. But that's not the point.
-
No, I warm up with the bar for one set to loosen my shoulders up a bit. Leaving plates on the bar is lazy, just rack em.

I worked at a gym once that had a real problem with people not putting their weights away or leaving plates on machines/bars.
These guys were animals (mainly Lebanese dudes who had been in the slammer a few times - in fact one employee got into a fistfight with a guy who ended up getting murdered a few months later by his crime buddies - Danny Karam for any aussies here) and the only way to sort them out was to slowly take plates out of the gym until it got to where they had to search for plates to use.
-
Think of it as making your fellow gym members do upright rows to help them get they lats dialed in.
Followed by Post-Workout toast with jelly.
-
It depends...If it's the only bench there you should re rack it but if there are a couple more benchs and they don't have weight on the bar then you are probably doing the courteous thing by leaving the plates on so that next non twink would have a warmp waiting for them.
-
It depends, if I can see it's a normal looking man waiting for the bench, I'll strip it to 1 plate a side, as I figure it's a normal starting point. Otherwise I deload it all. I also try not to use the 100's and despise most folks that will leave something loaded with them. I don't care how strong you are, dealing with the 100's is a PITA.
All dumbbells change plates get re-racked too. I've slipped on a loose five or ten, so I'm really careful about that:(.
-

It's our 20kg in pounds...that's all.
-
At the gym i train at,i was the manger for a year and if you left weights on once you would get a warning if you did it twice your membership would be terminated. Its just a lazy disrespectful thing to do and it pisses me off.If you come to the gym to workout then put your fucking weights away.
-
I guess I just give a shout around the gym as my gym is small.
I thought my gym was small once. Turned out I was just fookin massive!
-
My attitude about leaving weights on the bar is simple - if you're strong enough to put them on, then you're strong enough to put them away. I have no time for the little fucktards that just get up and leave.
Maybe it's not too bad on something like legpress if someone leaves one or even two plates on either side, because you tend to warm up with that anyway, but for any other piece of equipment, even bench press, it's just bad gym etiquette. Maybe it's just my OCD coming out, but I like my training area to be as free of clutter as possible before I start. Everything has to have it's place!
-
Sweat on the benches isn't nice as well. I'd rather lift a plate on or off..
-
Just take all the plates off the bar once you're done. Is it really that hard or are you just so lazy you can't even do it?
-
Yeah re-racking is the best way to go. Maybe the guy/girl who uses the bench after me might want to put 10's on and see how many reps they can do. You just never know.
-
If it was acceptable then the bar would weigh 135. I'm a trainer and most of my clients can't do 135. It is annoying for me to spend extra time asking the lazy guy that left his weight on to leave the area as he found it.
If you can't lift a 45lbs plate off a bar that was left there because you're too lazy then you shouldn't be lifting a 45lbs olympic bar either.

GOOD POST

Take all the plates off, and put away. Then sanitize. I expect it of others, so I do it.

No
That's too heavy for women.
What sort of pussy little women are you hanging out with?

I dont, Im just too worried about going into a catabolc state from unloading those 2 plates. ::)
-

Great logic there numbskull. Maybe the gear is affecting your brain.
-
women should lift weights and get stronger so they can carry home heavy grocery bags, wash, work the garden and what have you more effectively
-
Unrack everything EXCEPT at the leg press machine. I've NEVER seen anyone do less than a 45 on each side. If they do, then body weight squats would be better for them...

THen they shouldn't be doing bench press, they should be doing push up variations.
-
good enough for re-racking your weights?
i think its ok

All capable of at least 1 rep with 135.

They look like they'll beat the holy shit out off Titso if he just even looks at them strangely..

Leaving 135 on a bench is far less of a crime than leaving it say on a military press station or incline barbell station. I can see people taking them off there. But 95% of people warm up with 135 so leaving it on isnt that big of a deal. I'd rather people rack their dumbbells. I usually always rack all my weights but when i finished with bench today I didnt. And you know what? A teenager came over and started warming up with it. It isn't that big of a deal and people who freak out over it need to get over it cause its not gonna stop.

There is no way 95% of your average joe's/jane's warm up with 135.
-

I was using the same reasoning to defend leaving a plate on as others have been using against it. I guess it was too highbrow for you
-
I have, on several occasions, been asked by women to remove a 45lb plate from several pieces of equipment......the bench, squat rack, leg presses, etc.......how hard is it to take that last plate off?

what r u going to do if they ignore you? Are you going to go into steroid rage and hit them and get permanently banned from the gym along with assault charge?
-

You'd be surprised how obedient people are when they are told to do something by a stranger.
Que all the tough guys now about how they would ignore and walk away..... ::)
-
I warm up with just the bar itself, so its annoying that i have to do someone elses job by unloading the last plate....
The only reason guys leave one plate on is because they think they are leaving a statement behind that the next person should be able to start off with 135, it is an ego thing...Don't be that guy, re rack all the weights...

I've been in the fit biz for years now... the only time it's okay to leave a 45 plate on most machines is in a college / university gym...
Public gyms with membership options??? The plates should always be taken off, even the leg press. Many women do one legged leg press for 12 to 15 reps, and a 45 plate on each side is simply too much... This also goes for Hammer Strength machines...
-
i've never seen a girl doing bench press w/ an olympic size bar. if they do this motion it's w/ dumbells or cambered bar.

that seems backwards, if you pay for something you shouldn't have to do more work.

take them off ya lazy fucks

women train too, strip your fucking weights for them. what the fuck? if you are man enough to put the weights on .........

why would a man un load his plates it's like a man doing his own laundry
-

I dont know what gyms you guys frequent but I have never seen someone just go around from station to station un-racking peoples weights all day. I think its because 90% of the people do the right thing and put the weights back after they are done.
-
leave it on.
If you can't lift 135's this may help motivate you to do so.
-
it depends on the gym you train at.
when you see a gym with plates and dumbells not in their correct place you do the same
if your in a gym which has plates in their correct places you do the same.
its all about how the gym flows

I've trained at balleys and golds for over a decade. Their employees are so fu*king lazy. Fu*k the plates you're lucky to find paper towels or toilet paper. Half the time they aren't even at the front counter. Shitty attitudes as well.
-
If you're strong enough to load it and lift it, you're strong enough to unload it and put the plates back. Same with dumbells.
I train towards the end of my gym's opening hours and depending on whose been in the clutter is a damn disgrace.
Last Friday there were a couple o other guys in, dumbells left all over the place and big pools of sweat on the head of the benches.
That's my top two hates, people who don't put weights back and people who don't take a damn towel to the gym.
I'm gonna use this rage to bang out some upright rows later.

You have a point...people will.listen, especially when they are in the wrong.
The other day I walk in and there are three firefighters using all three flat benches training chest...because they couldn't be bothered changing weights for each guys strength .
So I just walked up to them and said they need to figure something out here because they can't be monopolizing all of the equipment ....they gave up a bench without a word. Not because I'm a "badass" because they knew it was fucked up.
I find that the people who get shit on are the ones who are petrified to open their mouth and do something about it

So you have no personal sense of honour or dignity? You wait for others to pave the way for a semblance of respectablility and accountability? You're a useless and embarrassing fuck.

wow some people take 45's on each side pretty serious...seriously people wheres your honor and dignity!have u no morals! ;D

good enough for re-racking your weights?
not if you expect get biggers to be able to use it after you
-
good enough for re-racking your weights?
no, women workout there too.

Worst pet peeve is the asshats who don't back away from the dumbbell rack when grabbing a dumbbell. These mofo's think everyone should wait till their done curling or shrugging before anyone can reach for a dumbbell. What a fucking joke.

People tend to know they are doing something wrong or maybe half assed and if they are asked to finish unracking the bar, they always do. I've never appraoched someone and acted like an ass about it, usually just a "hey man, you gonna finish taking those plates off?" will do the trick. :)

Yeah, I always see alot of people crowding down around the small end of the DB rack. :-\
-
I leave 1 45 on each side on some things but I agree it's just being lazy.. but seriously on some things if you can't do at least one plate on the exercise then you're a little bitch and reracking the 45 will do you some good.. for the people with at least normal strength leaving the plate on there is doing them a courtesy.
-
how bout if you leave 135 in like 4 10s and 5 on each side? In the squat rack after doing your curls :)
-
how bout if you leave 135 in like 4 10s and 5 on each side?
lol
-
I usually leave whats on the bar when I use it but if there is more then one plate I take it off.
.....if I see a hot chick I load up the bar of what I think she's gonna do next.then when she gets to the machine I look like a good guy and help her unrack :)
-
im one of the few who actually like re-racking my weights back... but its so fucking annoying seeming these lazy fucks not rack the weights back at ballys gym where i work out at.. but i find it that if i go to white areas like Manhattan Beach or Santa Monica or burbank the weights are usually re-racked, but fuck finding a pair in Inglewood, hawthorne or downy... spics and nuggas dont feel like they need to rerack..
Once saw a little mexican shit head with 8 plates on each side of the leg press finish his set and waking away from the press even after a small lady had waited around for him to finish ... i felt so bad i told her i would help her unload it
-
Yeah, I always see alot of people crowding down around the small end of the DB rack. :-\
Its usually dumbbell shrugs 100 on up or kids curling 50-60 # dumbells(way to heavy for them) when your trying to grab some weight for laterial raises.
-

Once saw some dumb shit, roll his foam sit up mat next to the 80-120lb dumbell rack and proceeded to do some crunches, keep in mind there is a section in the gym for sit-ups.. i should have gone over and stepped over him and dropped one on his head
-
I totally stripped 135 off the bar after shoulder pressing earlier but only because the blind guy was in.
-

They shouldn't let him in straight from the pub like that. That's how accidents happen.

Agreed my friend, excellent comment here...

yup...as i put it, Im not your fuking mother so clean up after yourselves
its about respect and that goes for everyone even the women if they use the leg press etc then a 45 per side maybe heavy to them.
whats one more 45 a side you lazy ass bitches!!! ;)
dont get me wrong when some dude say leave such and such on as im unloading its a fucking relief but still unload your weight if no one does...
-
I say leave one 45lb plate on the bar. That way, the hot moms who want to use the bench or rack need to ask me for help removing the plate and then I get to start a conversation with them without looking like a creep- and that's tough sometimes.
-

My boy.......always thinking and shit !!! lol ;D
-
In my gym they leave all the plates on from the last set, much of the time and clutter the place with dumbbels, so one plate is no big deal.
-
In Holland it never happens...thank to Dropping Plates.
