Why do you think companies outsource. All of the regulations and taxes enacted by pricks like zero.

your right.

companies outsource due to minimum wages, 8 hour work days, 5 day work weeks, manufacturing standards, and environmental regulations that prohibit excessive pollution during the manufacturing process.

and ya, those things are championed by democrats.

stupid democrats..

CLASSIC liberalism, I have no problem with, but just like modern conservatism, modern liberalism is a complete sham of its former self.  Anybody who thinks there is some massive difference between the parties is delusional, or just lost in the 1980's.......

I think most people today get their info from the glen becks and whoever you want to call the crazy person at msnbc or wherever (I don't watch these programs). And this reinforces misconceptions about what each party believes and leads to a large ignorance. I think if one wants to understand about Liberalism, read Mill, Rawls, Dworkin, Nagel, Waldron, etc and if someone wants to understand about libertarianism read Nozick, Smith, Sumner, etc.

As far as conservatism goes, I don't really know where one should read. Most of the conservative books out there are propaganda and not philosophical works. I'm not saying the existing philosophical conservative books are crappy, I'm just saying very few, if any, have written on it.

What am I?

Taxes should be the same for everyone.
You should be able to decide to put into your body whatever you want unless it affects someone else in a bad way.
Death pentaly should be given to anyone that kills someone innocent.
Abortions should be legal up to a certain week of pregnancy.
Schools should not push reiligion on someone.

and I missing some of the biggest big basic questions?

I guess I have some "liberal" views but I also want the death penalty to be something Very common. Public executions would be nice also. And I guess thats not liberal? I dunno

Agreed.  Vast majority of the media is just pushing buttons to get a reaction, i've yet to bump into someone and have a decent discussion about politics/policies who referenced Beck, for example, or Mahre...

As for conservative books, I'm not some type of expert, but a couple of really good reads are:

The Road to Serfdom by Freidrich A. Hayek and Witness by Whitaker Chambers.  And you are correct, most of them are just geared towards feeding off the fears and insecurities of average citizens.

The honey badger don't give a shit.

I guess I don't want to move to the Detroit ghetto. I mean, I thought it might have been a cool place until this video was posted. So thanks for letting me know it's not a fun place, something I couldn't have possibly deduced by the word 'ghetto'.

And what's with the music?

If you want a good example of what liberalism has done, look no further than California and NY.

If we did not have Wall Street in NYC - this place would resemble kenya and south side chicago.

No kidding he is right.  Without the tax money thrown off by Wall Street, NYC would look like Kenya.

Just think that not long ago, there were a bunch of big, beautiful homes there.  Now it looks like Baghdad.  Back in Motown's heyday, it was one of the first places shown to foreign dignitaries to display America's Industrial prowess.  Now, America would like to forget it even exists.

- Outsourcing and globalism killed manufacturing here.
- The 1967 riots which led to an exodus of whites (and other productive people of varying nationalities) from the city, never to return.
- Nearly half the city is illiterate.  They cannot READ or WRITE.
- Public Assistance is given out to nearly two-thirds of the citizenry.
- Corruption on an epic scale.  The Kwame Kilpatrick saga was just the most recent famous one.
- Derrick Coleman, ex-NBA player, invested 5 million dollars into the city.  It amounted into a total loss and now faces substantial money problems.
- Overpaid, low-quality work of "Big 3" union members.  The legacy costs and human resources were too much for US car manufacturers to bear so it was
forced to downgrade and outsource a cheaper labor pool.

Conservative- less taxes lets workers keep more of their check
Liberal- spread the wealth.

Conservative-everyone should pay taxes not just 50% of America.
Liberal- If you're  rich and successful it's not enough to be taxed at 40% it should be 50% to spread the wealth. If you taxed people who make over a million a year at 70% it wouldn't make a dent in what's needed in revenue to run this out of control spending.

Conservative- If you work hard and save you can own a house.  Don't borrow against your house for luxuries.
Liberal- A house is a right. Barney Frank and Cuomo led the legislation of the 5% down adjustable rate mortgage that so many are defaulting on after taking mortgage loans on depreciating equity in their house.  Now thanks to Obama  they get their loan reduced and are rewarded for being a dead beat.

Conservative-believes in smaller government
Liberal- believes that government is there to take care of everyone cradle to grave. Again the workers taking care of the non workers.

Conservatives- Don't have the media on their side.  NBC, CBS, ABC almost all the major newspapers and major Internet providers like AOL, Yahoo are all liberal.
Liberals- Are threatened by Fox news which is more balanced than any of the above.

Conservatives- Have conviction in their beliefs even if it isn't popular.
Liberals- Claim to believe in what ever the polls show what will keep them in power.

Conservatives-Love the military
Liberals - Tolerate the military.

Conservatives- Have some decency when talking about their rivals
Liberals- They will use there classic they are stupid routine and the press goes along with it.  No one in the press will keep reminding us about all the stupid things that have come out of Biden and Obama's mouth.

Conservatives- Try to save tax money from being wasted.
Liberals- Promise everyone tax money to please everyone.

Conservatives- Wants Wall Street to succeed knowing that  big businesses that make up Wall Street are the major producer of good jobs.
Liberals-Want Wall Street to fail. They blame the Nations problems on Wall  Street so government has a bigger socialist role in your life.  If  Wall Street fails every big employer like Exxon, Ford, Walmart, Coal mines, steel manufacture, computer manufactures and every conceivable big business will go under.

Conservatives- Tend to gain power when the country gets stronger.
Liberals- Tend to gain power the weaker the country gets.  Think of cities like Detroit, Newark and others.  Cities that receive a ton of tax money will never hurt that gravy train by having a conservative in power.

Conservatives- Want to stop borrowing money from China and to stop printing money without backing.
Liberals- Have no problem printing money without backing.

Conservatives- Want government out of your life.
Liberals- Want government to run your life.

Conservatives- We don't have a tax collection problem, we have a spending problem.
Liberals- We need more taxes so the government can spend more.

Conservatives- Tend to be workers and over 25.
Liberals -   Isn't everyone 18 to 25 a super liberal? After all their college professors have never been out of the school system in their life.

as far as outsourcing goes ... just cos you can get away with paying someone with a bowl of rice somewhere else doesn't make it right ... those companies that outsource lack true patriotism.
