Title: if your calories are slightly below maintenance and you get enough protein
Post by: purenaturalstrength on September 10, 2011, 12:28:12 PM
Can you basically eat junk food and still lose bodyfat and retain muscle mass, assuming your performance at the gym isn't affected too badly?

a hypothetical question, my diet is pretty balanced. i'm just wondering how much of the nutrient partitioning ideas of junk food vs "clean food" is true or bro science

if u didnt gain the muscle with anabolics, why would you need anabolics to retain them while losing bodyfat? (assuming i'm not morbidly obese to start with)

ABSOLUTELY TRUE... ANY CALORIC DEFICIT WILL RESULT IN SOME FORM OF LEAN BODY MASS. DONT BRING UP ANY BULLSHIT TO THIS FACT.

NOTHING, NADA. NO CAN OF WORMS BEING OPENED NOW.

WHAT SENSE DOES THIS MAKE?

IT'S MUCH HARDER TO KEEP MUSCLE WHILE IN A CALORIC DEFICIT THAN TO GAIN MUSCLE WHILE IN A CALORIC SURPLUS. PEOPLE USE MORE SHIT IN THIER PREP THEN THEY DO FOR THEIR ACTUAL OFFSEASON YOU REALIZE THAT RIGHT?

Look at it this way: when you gain muscle naturally, you also gain some fat. Now, when you lose fat, why wouldn't you also lose some muscle with it?

Most people aren't disciplined enough to eat junky stuff below maintenance regardless.
