Never seen this before...........

This device was invented by Vince Basile precisely after he invented the forearm itself.

Phil heath does this exact machine in his videos..so it must work. ;)
-
looks awesome
-
Every college strength and conditioning room has one.
Hammer Strength machine.
The original predecessor to this machine, the Nautilus Leverage line, is even better, because it is harder, and you can't load the machine with so much weight.
-
Used it. Stopped.
IMO you'll get a better forearm workout going high rep sitting on a bench with bar doing wrist curls.
-
They've been replaced with ropes and fatbars.
-
It's for pro wankers...

i have a forearm machine

That kind of grip machine that is in the beginning of the video I have never seen. The second one is a typical wrist roller but with a very thick bar.

Dumbell wrist curls is ALL i do for forearms and my opinion the best exercise for forearms.
-
Forearm exercises are useless. I do hammer curls for the brachioradialis, that's enough..

awesome....
...it's a small business but more girls are turned on by the fact that i'm a "Business owner" than the fact that I have a awesome tan or abs....it's unreal
-
I'm proud to say I've never done a direct forearm exercise in my life.
-
i once got a Forearm cramp stimulating the Gspot on a girl at a very rapid pace, the pump was intense
-
nothing like a grip that'll turn a guys balls and throat into paste 8)

I do heavy rack deads without straps for forearms.
-
Ropes and fatbars.
-
Reverse curls work fine for me.
-
seriously- my forearms are a result of having generation after generation of ancestors who worked manual labor and playing baseball without batting gloves
none of you can tell but I got sick forearms.......they look like circumcised, African cocks

Flip tires, pull a truck with a 50-100ft rope 2" in diameter. (machines..oh brother)

Hanging from a chinning bar... which gives out first? Your grip or your back?
Wrist roller. Try three full (non-cheating {as in: don't let the rope slide}) reps with only 5 lbs. ~ all the way up, all the way down.
Try carrying a 45lb. plate with just your finger tips... better yet, try two 45's and watch your toes....
Fill up a bucket with sand. Dig your way to the bottom using only your fist (you "fisters" should love this)
Then you can finish with your barbell forward and reverse wrist curls. Dumbells are very hard to control and are hard on the wrists unless your forearms are really stable, even then R.O.M is very limited.
Hold a BB from a rack pin with weight that you cannot deadlift from the ground. Don't use straps.
See if you are able to type a nice informative little post here on GB right after the workout. Ha. No effin' way, Junior.

My favorite...
Go grocery shopping and try carrying 5-10 heavy, grocery-filled, plastic bags in each hand, while using your fingers as your only support.
Individually load each finger with 1-2 bags and once all fingers are full, form a tight fist and go up a few flights of stairs with those bags and then after unloading, try masturbating with those numb fingers.
Result: You will feel as if a stranger was pleasuring you.

I always end up resting my elbows in the towels and doing *non-grip* chins....

che, are you implying that those bodybuilders with huge forearms hardly every work forearms, yet they have huge forearms because forearm development is highly genetic? :D :D
-
No..what che is implying is my way hard and he chooses machines because they're much easier.

But bodybuilders have bigger forearms than those powerlifters who do all the exercises you have suggested :-\ :-\
-
They have bigger or more muscular forearms? And I can't remember the last time a pro bodybuilder did towel pull ups, tire flips, farmers walks, etc. Can you? (I'm talking as part of their training)

Looks like both.
No, I can't because I don't train for that stuff. Can a powerlifter perform surgery? No, because they aren't trained for it. So that point really proves nothing. So they can do towel pull ups. Whats your point?
-
the point it forearm strength and development doesn't have to be limited to machines.
-

Thank you SF1900, the Coach is more delusional than Goodrum.

But how did Vince goodrum build such massive forearms? :o :o

The coach also thinks the earth is 6000 years old :o :o :o :D :D

Ask Vissy.
-
Haha
;) ;)
I dont know, seems like all those powerlifting movements are a waste of time. You either have big and strong forearms or you don't. I mean, if you havent developed big looking forearms from all the years of basic lifting, doing towel pulls probably wont help much. :-\ :-\
-
Big doesn't necessarly mean strong.

that's gold ;D

Ropes and fatcocks.

"Ropes?"
How about "Pearl Necklaces?" ;D

I believe Lee Priest approved of this method.

You do realize the bber posted are puny in comparison to the strongmen posted right? Side by side their forearms are probably the same size, the fact that bbers are 5'6" tall and strongmen are 6'5" tall plays a huge role. Even then, I'd rather be strong and functional than ripped and unathletic.
-

so a 5'6" guy has forearms as big as a 6'5" guy and we're supposed to train like the 6'5" guy???

Powerlifting = squat, bench, deadlift. Learn your fucking strength sports son.

the gym i go to has one. i use it on occasion. that is alot of weight the guy in the vid is using

But your neither :D

Hahaha - but when did he find the time to invent white vans to gather "workput partners"?

Uncalled for :(

Bahaha Id be surprised if a 5'7" 250lb bodybuilder had bigger anything than a 6'4" 330lb+ powerlifter or strongman. Some of those guys have more solid muscle in their necks alone than guys like Phil Heath have in their entire body, they are HUGE dont get confused by seeing proportionately differences in pictures. Poundstone as many others would make the current Mr. O look very puny and weak.
dave gulledge, cut down from 320lbs to 270 ripped. Huge mofo.

Which one will have the longer lifespan, or is it about equal?
I remember talking to some strongman/PL (more PL than strongman) one time and he told what he ate--my arteries started clogging up just listening to him.
-
My old gym had one I actually liked it too.

I don't know, alot of those 70's/80's strongmen are still around aren't they?
-
I have one of those Wide "V" angled bars that you can put weight on and do wrist curls.
Works real well---my brother has it.

Sorry, I bow down to the ultimate schmoeness, which is you! :D :D

Perhaps height does play a huge role. But in overall size, there are certain bodybuilders who are on par, if not have bigger forearms than most powerlifters.

It's cool though, cause most powerlifters/strongmen can rest their beer on top of the bodybuilders head while the bodybuilder sips his water. :)

Olympic lifters probably have longest lifespans of the barbell based strength sports just bouncing the idea around in my mind, perhaps because they are more of a weight class strength sport.
Offhand, I can think of 5 notable Strongmen that have passed in the last 20 years- John Perry(complications from Rec. drugs, heart attack I believe), Murunde, O.D. Wilson, Grizzley Brown, and Sigmarsson. Wilson and Brown were Powerlifters first and for the most part.
Powerlifters tend to be ok, after there careers are over. A decent amount have died over the years, but they tend to be the SHW's that never dropped the weight after their career was over and stopped training.
Here's a very famous forearm on the powerlifting scene-
(http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_HbaApmpa-Po/SRzjEjaDfsI/AAAAAAAAANE/g4Ev7KzhZ_0/s400/fore.jpg).
Many strongmen tend to have forearms in the 16-17" range, fromwhat I've seen over the years.

I remember that Grizzley Brown used to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. There was a big write up of him in Musclemag when he died, they had a pic of him leg pressing 3000 pounds.
