Title: Outer arm Separation and detail?
Post by: adrain on October 06, 2011, 07:19:39 PM
I cant seem to ever get separation or detail on my outer arms.  I do tons of cables, dumbbells and hammers curls but nothing works!  What other movements would target my problem?  Needing to try something new.   Thanks (http://imagecdn.bodybuilding.com/img/user_images/growable/2011/10/06/11085693/profilepic/1EqUjxOiEFNuakqLMqEAt2GFAhA692.jpeg)

I hit the hammers often, seems it's hits more of my forearms and not target the bi's?  Even doing them with the rope on the cables nothing.

This is a classic example of something known as "bigorexia." Dude is already as big as a house, but is worried about a few cuts on his upper arm  ::) ::) Piece of advice, focus on some more important things than a few veins and cuts on your outer arm

Overhead cable curls supersetted with reverse grip pushdowns might help. Do triple drops for both and go to failure on each set.

I think the only thing that can help you now is "Indigo Snake Oil" from T-Nation, for only 500$ per month, you have to order a 3 years supply in advance, so that they know you take them serious.

I thought you were kidding. Well, off to the bank to raise the credit card limit to get me some of that Indigo stuff. They claim ungodly gains in the matter of 10 weeks, so I may aswell end up like the dudes in that video.

You look pretty sick in most photos I see of you so props. I guess because I have never had that development it's easy to say "hey he looks good enough." But being advanced as you are, you are always looking for more. That said, when I cut up my arms are pretty good. You know what you have to do better than any of us. Everyone is diff, only YOU know what works for YOU. Change it up alot, diff angles, cables, hammer curls, etc. You will find the routine that works best, trial and error

Preacher curls wide grip and spider curls close grip---knew several dudes who swore by them, and they had that freaky outer arm detail.

Also, on Flex's Hardbody, he seemingly loved doing Spider curls, close grip.

*He also advocates going all the way down when doing the movements, as it "stimulates" better growth---all I know is that it hurts more---a better stretch?

"Spider curls" are curls done on the straight side of the Preacher bench, think of them as a modified concentration curl---there is no "body English", and it's hard to cheat. Once the weight gets heavy, there is a tendancy to not go as far down (full stretch as Flex wheeler advocates), and a tendancy to not bring it up as high for a full squeeze.
