He opened all the gates then took his own life.
They killed 48 of 56 of these exotic animals. This particular animal is still on the loose.
My question is - why would you keep a monkey around if it has Herpes B? ???

Because the tranc's dont take an immediate effect and basically get the animals pissed off. They could have gotten away since it was at night, all tranc'ed up and angry. World renown animal expert Jack Hannah said they had no other choice but to put the animals down. 3rd world country? HAHA!

I heard that the town was so depleted with funds that the cost to hold these animals, feed, transport, acquire tranquilizer guns and store them till they could find a new home was too much for the town to handle ...so they just got all the cops and their hunter friends to live a dream of a African Safari hunt and kill instead...imagine how happy some of those 'hunters' were....I read somewhere that on of the 'hunters' used an AR-15 on a bear....

i agree it was probably blood-lust a bit, and budgetary thing. the guy cut all the fences so the animals couldn't be returned there either.
on the subject of the bear, an Ar15 would be your best bet in that situation. You want 30 rounds.

I think there are only two zoos in America that make a profit (Bronx /San Deigo)...all the rest are money pits. But you just can't go to the zoo and be like...here are 5 tigers...enjoy, those tigers would kill the other ones....zoos aren't like they were in cartoons with animals in cages...they look like fake habitats.
