I heard that the town was so depleted with funds that the cost to hold these animals, feed, transport, acquire tranquilizer guns and store them till they could find a new home was too much for the town to handle ...so they just got all the cops and their hunter friends to live a dream of a African Safari hunt and kill instead...imagine how happy some of those 'hunters' were....I read somewhere that on of the 'hunters' used an AR-15 on a bear....

I think there are only two zoos in America that make a profit (Bronx /San Deigo)...all the rest are money pits. But you just can't go to the zoo and be like...here are 5 tigers...enjoy, those tigers would kill the other ones....zoos aren't like they were in cartoons with animals in cages...they look like fake habitats.
