was this a Muscle tech ad shoot?........if it's not an add, then it's real
-
probably 15kg plates
140kg not 180kg
-
I believe it.
Jay is strong but people seem to forget that because in recent years (as he's gotten older) he has trained using lighter weight. He doesn't need to lift heavy poundage anymore. He's not getting any bigger. So he trains lighter and smarter and people give him shit for it. It doesn't mean that he's not one big strong dude though.

there is nothing fake about the video he simply has 4 15kg plates on each side
8x15=120 + bar (20kg) = 140kg
-
at 280 why not,,,,but like stated enough compounds in veins ,stimulation is all needed to say huge.

because it isn't 405...you can see it the way he moves the weight and he is traveling on the road
-
great form though, regardless if its legit 45lb plates or not

I asked a guy who had 22 plates on the leg press doing about a half inch range of motion what bodypart he was training......he looked at me blankly and said "legs of course".......I said."Oh,I thought you were training your ego" ..........and just walked away.
Maybe Jay is training pecs and not ego during this video.

Hahahaha
Guys do this all the time in the gym load up the leg press the do 1/8 movement
Bradley even bending the knees

Qft

that is a classic and they usually have stick legs too
morons don't realize they need to
a) hormonize
b)cut weight in half and do 12-15 reps with full range
-
Can jay do 405 on incline, maybe. Is that 405 in the video...NO

This always makes me laugh and then people look at me funny when I use like 4-8 plates per side and am walking funny after. Guess I'm not very strong :(

I have seen hormonizers using nothing heavier than 300lbs on squats and 5-6 plates (per side) on the leg press have insane legs.
-
Weights are fake. He racked the last rep like nothing. ::)

no they are not fake they simply aren't 20kg plates.
-
Can jay do 405 on incline, maybe. Is that 405 in the video...NO
Jay did 405 incline on his second video, "New improved" but his wife had hands on the bar.
He`s not a powerlifter bro,so if his chest development looks insane using 275,why would he care.
I was just simply answering the question. We all know he doesn't care about the weights :)

i have to agree with this id say the weight is more likely 315-335 which is still very good for 12-15 reps like he got there, very few people in the world can knock out sets of 12-15 with 405 on the incline.
-

agree a MILLION percent, no one asks what you bench or squat onstage or gives a shit.

I hear ya` bro,just trying to make a valid point...no offense meant. :)
-
No plate movement whatsoever. With those flimsy ass collars on the side, those plates would have had a tad bit of play in them. Plus Jay couldn't do this in his 20's and early 30's. He certainly wouldn't have gotten stronger as he gets closer to his 40's.
-
Ok, now the pull-ups vid......
-
Whats also funny is the guy needs a two hands on the bar spot assisted spot with 275 incline when he is at his heaviest while training in Vegas and only gets about 10 reps.
-
He's like 5'9'' 280 + on a medley of aas. Why would this be fake ???

MAN! those guys are so ANNOYING! they like to stay on that machine and drag it out for as long as possible. same with benchers. they put three plates on and just sit there purposely allowing as much time for others to notice the weight they're pretending to use.
Then they slam it down, lock it,stand up, and look around to see who they might have impressed!
ALWAYS

That is what I figured as well. He still did a good 10 plus reps with it.

Deadlifting 315 for a hard 7 reps then 6 reps , lifting straps/ and belt and all

hahhahahah yes.. then look for more plates to load on...

Repping 310 with ease and with very good form is still respectable.
-
not 405
-
Not trying to go all "getbig", but I could do 315 for 3 on incline after my flat bench exercises when I was in college, and I wasn't on a 10th of the hormones this dude is using. Shit is real.
-
Deadlifting 315 for a hard 7 reps then 6 reps , lifting straps/ and belt and all
ive seen jay blast 405 for easy reps deadlift...
i think jay is strong not coleman strong but strong.....
just doesnt ego lift

lol, i saw a kid ask Flex Wheeler at a show he was guest posing at about 10 years ago what he used on dumbbell curls, picture a 24 year old white kid maybe 5'8" and 175 pounds of skinny/fat with maybe 14 inch arms and Flex looking like the God he always did in his prime with maybe 22 inch arms...."how much do you db curl...80's...90's?" Flex gets a big shit eating grin on his face and says "fuck no, i use 30's most of the time sometimes 35's"

right off the Muscle Tech facebook

Jay cutler and Muscle tech are as believable as a tearing a bicep at a photoshoot a week before the olympia picking up a 120lb dumbell ::) ::)
-
european/olympic colour marked weights. look at the handles.
1 blue, 3 yellow each side
yellow = 15 kg
blue = 20 kg
you do the math in lbs..

Can jay do 405 on incline, maybe. Is that 405 in the video...NO
Why maybe...? 405 on the incline is a huge weight??? I don't think so...
-
Why maybe...? 405 on the incline is a huge weight??? I don't think so...
got any video of you doing it?
-
steve throws up 405 like it's nothing and needs less than 300mg of tren a week to maintain his size and when he started doing steroids he hardly even changed... true story, look at his little picture show lol
-
Why maybe...? 405 on the incline is a huge weight??? I don't think so...
ok, "big" guy
-
got any video of you doing it?
405 is not amazing for a pro bb. Namat can do it. So can/could Jay.
-
Deadlifting 315 for a hard 7 reps then 6 reps , lifting straps/ and belt and all
Good observation, but Jay is not doing normal deadlifts in the video, he is doing stiff leg deadlifts to work his hamstrings.
-
ok, "big" guy
refresh my memory, isnt Steve the guy who's wifes shoulders are wider than his and takes pictures on birthdays in limos they cant afford living it up in Orlando on 8 dollar an hour bouncers wages?
-
Shit,he might have done 6 sets before the pics were taken.
Heavy is relative anyway.
-
probably not 45 lbs plates.
something about legpressers being annoying.
-
ok, "big" guy
Come on man... I did 405 on the incline before and still can do 365 for a few reps even now...or 315 on any day... So for Jay...come on...he's waaaaay bigger and stronger than me...
-
fyi Jay did incline 405 for 6 reps in his vid "New improved and beyond"
-
refresh my memory, isnt Steve the guy who's wifes shoulders are wider than his and takes pictures on birthdays in limos they cant afford living it up in Orlando on 8 dollar an hour bouncers wages?
She's not wider...
I haven't paid for that limo...
Tampa...
$10/hr...
;D
-
I doubt it's 45 lbs plates.
in another video he only did 315 for 5 reps
leg pressers who use too much weight annoy me.
-

Using Tren to maintain...? Haha!
I can maintain on 200-300mg of T. Prop a week.
-

why do you repeat yourself?
1. Jay did 405 in "new improved and beyond"
2. In the Island video he does 340 lbs
this place is filled with retards

I doubt those are 45 lb plates. it looked two easy to be 405
I saw another video where he only got 363 for nine reps on decline.
-
405 is not amazing for a pro bb. Namat can do it. So can/could Jay.
i see this post but still no proof of this little yard knome Steve pressing said weight.
-
jay can do 405 on the incline but he didn't do 405 in the video
how fucking difficult is that to understand
-
i see this post but still no proof of this little yard knome Steve pressing said weight.
i remember he posted pics of himself on here benching 405. or maybe it was a vid dont remember. some year(s) ago.
why would that be so hard to believe anyways. if naturals can rep out 315 then im sure someone on gh,test, trenobolona you name it can bench 405....
-

Sorry I don't have videos about all of my records... ::)
This is similar, a few month ago...posted a couple of times already...
But it doesn't matter anyway...you can get stronger and stronger without getting any bigger...

steve what was your first cycle like?

is not funny. this is serious business >:(

I've seen guys in the gym flat press 160 pound dumbbels for 8 to 12 reps and these same guys can't get 405 for 1 rep on the bench press. True Story!
-
how much did you gain (strength and mass)?
Like 25 pounds in 6 weeks...but I was eating everything...I didn't know too much about nutrition... I remember in pressing movements I increased the weights by 20-25 pounds on the same set in one week.
So for the first time, why would anybody need a stronger cycle...? ???
-

Well I'm working out since 1999 and I have never seen anything like that... But who knows. Sounds weird.
-

Don't be fucking silly. Heavy dumbbells doesn't translate to heavy bench pressing. Same as heavy leg presses don't translate to heavy squatting. If a person doesn't Bench press for months or years at a time, there bench isn't gonna be shit(a few natural freaks aside of course)...We all see the guys in the gym who won't go near the flat bench but will load up the smith machine bench and claim its the same thing. IT ISNT!!!NO EVEN CLOSE!
-

I know you made a few Youtube video's but I must have missed your flat bench press video's. I think I seen one years ago before you were pro with 315 to 365 on the bench. Never seen one with you with anything over that. Do you have any?

that doesnt make any sense, repping 160's for 12 the way Steve did his reps would make you close to a 455 bencher... even if you rarely did the lift.
-

True, but you would actually have to get your old form back on the bench first.
trust me on that I stopped benching for yesrs and was inclining some pretty good weight, went back to benches and they sucked by comparison until I found my "groove" so to speak.
-

I'm not trying to take anything away from Namat that video he posted is impressive, but if what you say holds true, he should be able to put 405 on the bench and get somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 to 12 reps. Now wouldn't that be a video that would look pretty damn impressive for a guy as light as him? But unless i'm missing something, I don't see that video.

Yeah, as some one mentioned it's #330-
3 pairs of 15kgs, inside plates are 20kgs, and 20 kgs for the bar.

"Dumbbell presses are much more harder than barbell presses."...Very true !!

seems like the older a weight lifter gets the less they do flat bench presses on a olympic bench press. most of bodybuilders have done so much flat bench pressing since they were like 14 when they get 30 they usually get some kind of nagging injury and start doing smith machine and never go back to the flat bench press. seen it happen alot!
-

Benching sucks unless you have a natural propensity for the lift...............takes people eons to realize this and most never do.
Dumbell Inclines
Smith Inclines
Dumbell Benches
Flyes
Seated Bench Machine or Hammer Strength Macine
Crosovers
Pec-Deck
All safer and much better for pec development.
Sadly the kids who max out on the bench weekly trying to somehow reach 300,315,405,500, etc. etc., will never reach their goals just because they don`t have the genetic propensity to be good at benching no matter how hard they work.
You can build big numbers, not huge as you might expect, but more than likely, shoulder injuries will stop you long before you realize the time you wasted. :(

Don't know if is fake or not....
He does look like a Swollen Monkey though.

It shows the 3 yellow {15kg plates} and 1 blue {20kg plate} right in the video and people still are asking what the weight is?
No PI`s on the board today I take it.
Its 150kg total....

not when you get to a certain weight its not, you start getting up into that 365-500 range on barbell presses and you feel like youve got a truck sitting in your hands, dumbbells are easy to manipulate, look on youtube at how many skinny twinks find a way to press the 100's and more but you'll hardly ever see a video of a skinny dude legitimately pressing 4 or 5 plates.
-
initially there are two goals to get as strong as possible and to get as big as possible,,after yrs and yrs of this,,there comes a time when these seperate themselves and you lean more to one side due to maxxing out on strenght and how big one gets.or one becomes more important than the other.they both take a lot of work.i don't care how big u become muscular wise 405 incline is impressive.

It was real. I sometimes travel to Las vegas for work and when I am there I go to the Golds gym he is at and seen him there so I saw him rep 365 for about 10 without a spotter so I am sure he can do that

You're right, to a point. But there's no question one's flat barbell press will suffer if he never trains the exercise, regardless of how heavy the dumbells are when he uses them. Look at Ronnie ...
It was obvious from watching him push 495 in that one video that he wasn't as used to barbells as he was dumbells. His dumbell pressing strength would indicate a MUCH better barbell lift, but he did, what, five kinda shit reps with the five plates? Now, if he did focus more intently on barbell pressing, it's obvious he'd have done a whole lot more. Perhaps two or more sets of eight.

true .. you have to keep on top of the barbell press to get better but flip the scenario
someone who benches all the time.... and then trying dumbells would suffer greatly....
and to the guy talking about 365 bench presses feel like a truck
try 145 dumbells... which is near enough close to that weight
dumbells in my experience a lot harder
-
