The article stated Arnold had to "think thin"; cut out the "heavy foods"; and trained with "higher repetitions" to get in his 1980 contest shape.

yes....

but @ 300 pounds... they look like utter shit.

Arnold was obviously better in 75...when he weighed something like 230.

These blokes today look like cattle. IMHO

Does the article detail his (supposed) training routine?
.....
chest/back
legs
delts/arms

training 6 days per week?

The article talks about how Arnold prepared for his role in Conan which of course surrounded the 1980 Mr. Olympia so what is said in the article one must assume it's how he possibly trained for the "O". Here's exactly how it's printed in the issue...

"First of all, thinking thin. Then I cut out all the heavy foods and ate more chicken, fruits, salad and so on." Schwarzenegger also trained lighter, with more reps, concentrating on developing his deltoids, legs and shoulder.

That part didn't make sense to me since deltoids are shoulders, but whatever. Anyway, that was all that was mentioned about anything pertaining to his exercise, reps, and weights.

Steve,  You might be the only guy here who can answer this:  How did Arnie in 1980 get into this type of shape- his abs, intercostals, obliques, were in full effect.  Would a competitor have to go on Tuna and water for two months??  Was there a specific change in gear he would have had to do last few weeks... or was he (just speculating) taking a crap-load of Winny???  There wasn't GH back then, I believe.

john fair give a great analysis of the 1980 mr olympia . on iron game history . . the judging panel may have been biased . then and 800 fans booed the king of bodybuilding .  fair concludes that after all this it raise serious questions if bodybuilding is really a sport .

strange to see his training pics . according to many strentgh coaches . leg extension are almost worthless and reverse bench dips dangerous . . yet the oak does them . . arnie beleived that pullovers stetch the rib cage . something almost impossible . from the pic he was in good but not great shape . arms and calves were very good .
