I have a large and geographically diverse family. Many of us family members stay connected via Facebook. Facebook is not just a place for people to collect "friends" which are often other Facebook users they don't even know, you know?
Throughout time, many folks have sought to express their individuality by adopting certain unique styles or mannerisms. A few years ago, tattoos were edgy and not mainstream, for example. Today it seems there are more folks with tattoos then there are folks without them, making tattoos no longer unique or even that edgy. Someone (who was probably balding) shaved their head as a style solution which seemed unique. Perhaps it was Yule Brenner or me. Anyway, many guys, balding or not now shave their heads, making bald heads seem fairly common.
Teenagers frequently look for ways to make a statement which distances them from previous generations in some way. It was probably some teenager who first sagged his pants and now everyone, even middle aged men, is doing this. Not me though. I think it looks stupid. I feel for those who wish to be individualist. With so many folks in the world and the ease of communication, it has become increasing more difficult to actually be unique.

But there are a myriad of reasons why people use facebook beyond what you suggest here. Here is the thing, privacy is an illusion today. Nothing is private except your thoughts. Facebook is no less private than Getbig when it comes to people being able to read your PM's and posts. Facebook just has more participants. But not to worry, most people will never look at your or my Facebook account unless you ask them to and maybe not even then.

I have not had any bad experiences with my own Facebook page. However, my grandson had his Facebook page highjacked. The kid doing this posted some pretty nasty stuff, from what my daughter told me before he was able to take it down. As a result, his XBox account was suspended. Something of a mess, from what I understand. But then, my grandson is fourteen years old and kids are nasty to other kids.

Some folks I know post what seems like trivial stuff on their Facebook page, things which I cannot imagine anyone, friend or family would be interested in. A lady I used to work with does this. Although she's married and has a family, I think she is somewhat bored and lonely. I find her trivial posts somewhat sad. She's a nice person though.
Although I have a Facebook page, I rarely go there unless I get an email notification that someone I know has posted on my wall. Then it is usually just something family or friend related. As I said, I only have real friends on Facebook, meaning these are friends from real life and not just someone aquaintance from the Internet.

Now you have to "Accept to give up information to the corporate machine so they can look at your private information in order to use this application" and you have to click "like" in order to use apps aswell like dating applications in order to use them, and it's kinda akward.
So that's why I might aswell use msn rather than facebook.
And I find it more humane to actually phone people and see people face to face. I've allready met more people now that I actually have to phone them rather than chat with them, hear their voices and actually make proper plans and what not, so fuck facebook.
I TOLD YOU that PERSONALLY I'm fed up with facebook, so stop making me allways type fucking walls of texts to you it's annoying.

no, you rly have a lowsy reading comprehension, why have facebook when I use skype and msn with my "close friends", I got into facebook because I got into the hype and that's it. Lol I was in facebook and it was just crickets... no point having it, skype rules. I can actually see video footage and talk at the same time without any corporate spying.

regardless of age, most people I have dealt with in facebook are much more open and flashy in facebook but in real life they are much more mellowed down and quite and that has allways sourprised me, allways... it's like they have some sort of alter egos. I only have couple of close friends who I could die for so I decided to stop using that useless social network, I don't need it. If I had over 600 close friends, I mean close maby I would use facebook but because of security I would just teach them about the benefits of skype.
