Have Romney and Paul tied at 24% Santorum at 18%.
-
So far a tie between Santorum and Paul.
-
I'm having a real hard time understanding how they're voting for Santorum lol He's a big spender who comes off like Gomer Pile but has a name that means "a frothy mix of lube and fecal matter" that can't be what republicans in Iowa like in a candidate running for president. lol...
-
Santorum at 26% with 49 of 1774 precints reporting. RP at 24%. Huntsman at 0%...damn!

what a joke...
GOP putting out the message that if you vote for Paul, you'll lose first dibs in the next election and it'll cost you a lot of money. If I went around telling voters how they should vote and threating their pocket book or else, I'd find myself in federal pound me in the ass prison.

Why the fuck should Iowa always be first anyway? Most of the people in this country have no say in deciding who gets picked as most of the candidates are already eliminated by time it rolls around to them. I know CT changed their primary from February to the end of April this year.

Yea, I agree. I don't think Iowa should always be first. That's not my point. I don't see how it's ethical for a party to threaten that. To hold that over the voters heads saying if you vote for Paul, kiss first goodeye... Not cool imo...
-
This is pretty cool, regardless. Only 189 votes separating 1st and 3rd place right now.
-
I guess the media push for Santorum really helped.
-
Primary should all be held on one day and the general all on one day.
-
Paul dropping.. WTF with Santorum?! Who the fuck wants a presidential candidate who feels that people need to be told how to live their lives, that people cant be trusted to do what theyre supposed to and is a big spender?
Thats no different that who's in office now, just a republican instead of a democrat.
That would suck ass if it winds up Santorum vs Obama, same guy different color.
And fuck the GOP threatening the voters. Seems like that is illegal somehow.

hey, the party said there was no way in hell they would allow Paul a victory. Who knows what exactly they had planned to make sure that happened. That's what they said, not me. Santorum lol... unreal...

The average drone in society is not a libertarian! ask the average republican or the average commie demoRAT about most issues and yu will quickly learn that most people are wedded to the tit of the federal breast more than you can imagine.

Exactly what I was saying to my wife. Cant believe we allow a party to bully its voters with threats and blatantly come out and say they wont let a candidate win.
So sad.
-
This is actually good for Paul. All eyes on Santorum now and theyll destroy him on his voting history. In the end this will be between Romney and Paul.
-

If any one person were caught doing the equivalent I think it would land them in jail.

The GOP needs to shoot themselves for being so fucking pathetic they would rather lose to Obama than let Paul run.
That would be like an NFL team saying, fuck the superbowl, we dont like this QB so we'd rather lose the superbowl than let him play.

Who's threatening the voters? It's neck and neck, with Romney, Santorum, and Paul.
Now, it's Santorum who's ascended to front-runner status (at least in Iowa). It's been musical chairs each month.
August: Bachmann
September: Perry
October: Cain
November: Gingrich
December: Paul
January: Santorum

the threats occured in the media leading up to tonight. even with a GOP strategist saying this comes from the top. Basically saying that if Paul wins Iowa won't keep it's stance as first and they made sure to mention the revenues they would lose in that case.
-
With 97% reporting, Santorum and Romney are almost DEAD EVEN at 25% (with Santorum ahead by about 100 or so votes); Paul's lagging behind with 21% of the vote.
-
A B O
-
Dont be surprised if Romeny snags this form Santorum. The remaining precints supposedly lean Romney.

97% of the precincts have reported and Santorum is up by 62 votes.
-
Talk about RAZOR THIN!! Now, Santorum's up a mere 5 votes with 98% of the precints reporting.
-
Told you.
-
Told you.
Well, it's 99% reporting and Santorum's lead has increased to 34 votes.
Sorry for the rapid edits; I'm using my DVR; so I've been a few minutes behind. Now, I'm looking at live footage.
BTW, aren't the delegates being distributed proportionally, as opposed to winner-take-all, this year?

Yeah, it looks like Santorum is back up.
It is my understanding that the delegates are distributed proportionally this year, yes. So, Santorum will scrape out a win after campaiging as if he is running for governor of Iowa, and Romney almost beats him after spending little time in Iowa.
-
yes.
If that's the case, then this is a HUGE deal for Santorum, whether he actually finishes first or not.
That would mean that the only one who hasn't gone to front-runner status is Huntsman.
-

But Santorum has been in the single digits for Lord knows how long. Other than Huntsman, Santorum has been an afterthought. Now he pulls this off in Iowa. The question is how much longer before he gets skewered ala Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Gingrich, and Paul.
-

If it ain't winner-take-all, what difference does it make, should Paul win Iowa (which apparently he will NOT), if he gets KILLED everywhere else?
Edit - Santorum's lead is now a mere 18 votes.
-
Yes. Both parties are dog shitte
Nice to know we can agree on something.

Santorum won, 100% reporting.
I didn't say anything about Paul. I was talking only of the rather unethical means the GOP employed. No party should pull that shit with anyone. Like I said, if I did the same thing, it would probably land me in jail.
Don't vote for X candidate or else is not right.

What's the margin? I'm watching it on Fox and they still have it at 99%, with Santorum up by 18. CNN has the same thing.

Fox has Santorum up by 4.

Not my fault, AP actually did show 100% They're probably doing a little recounting so they don't have to look like total idiots choosing Santorum. :D
-
Now AP moved it back to 99% reporting... lol... idiots...

Wonder if we can get another boo hoo family photo?
The Iowa Republican Party Chairman, Matt Strawn, just declared Romney the winner.
Romney - 30,015; Santorum - 30,007.
But, each county has two weeks to send in the results to be certified.
-
Too close to call. Besides, Iowa has more often than not chosen the person who doesn't get the nomination.
Doesn't matter anyway, it's all decided for us.
-
I'm disappointed Ron Paul did not win this one, but I'm shocked Santorum almost won...Santorum? ???
-
it's all decided for us.
I just can't believe it would be so blatantly talked about. Openly admitting that the GOP will intentionally maneuver in the caucus to insure Ron Paul can't win. that's really fucked up. I think I liked it better when I had to come up with a conspiracy or try to make a case of fraud lol... Now they just admit it. They'll go with the candidate the people want as long as that choice is what the party wants, otherwise forget it lol...
-

I know, WTF? Can you imagine Santorum as President? I mean the fucking dude has an issue with people using condoms? :-\ What the hell would he be like as president? He would probably appoint Pat Robertson as Attorney General and John Hagee for Secretary of Defense. Probably see people doing time for their stack of illegal Hustler magazines before this assclown finished his first term.

LOL.
Santorum would not get the Latino vote. The Spanish word "Santurrón" which is pronounced like Santorum and spelled almost the same means hypocrite, self righteous prude.

lol, that is good, or I mean bad for him... There must be some translation for Santorum somewhere that means, "pissed off geek hellbent on making sure others don't have the kind of fun he missed out on..." Or maybe just, "delusional and angry at life."
-

Thers a long way to go and Ron did great. His rise is slow and steady while all the other candidates are all over the place. Cain out, Perry may be out. Bachmann done. Gingrich, who knows and Santorum is not going to be at the top much longer.

what Paul needs to do is start attacking Obama more and reaching out to actual GOP voters. Why? Many primaries coming up are closed to just GOP voters.
