So you get on a cycle and you are bigger and stronger and pushing a lot of weights in the gym, but guess what your muscles are stronger but your joints and ligaments are not, so the heavier weights start to put a lot of stress on your joints and ligaments and you end up with a nasty injury and you are out of the gym for months. So its better to increase the reps and slowly increase the weights if you want to stay injury free over the long run.

Good advice, thanks.

People also get a psychological edge thinking. I'm on steroids so I'm going to push the limits. Then sacrifice good form and push too hard leading to injuries.

The most important thing is a Personal Trainer...
-
It's funny, I cant even train more than 45 minutes on a cycle, I feel like absolute shit all the time....all I want to do is sit around and eat. Off cycle I feel good, tons of energy and can lift for hours....go figure.

The most overlooked part of a steroid cycle is getting blood work done each 3mths.

Risk to rewards imo a person should atleast have the tools to get on a college team.

i dont understand all this talk about trainers. No offense to trainer because he may know what hes doing, but I would say 95% of the trainers at the gyms I train at are morons. They go online and get there cert and they think they know it all. Then I see them in the gym training like idiots. Preaching about celltech while there doing squats on top of a ball.

Not sure if serious?

No shit, Sherlock.

Dan Duchaine made a point back in the late 90's that it's best to train with high reps while on the sause in order to safeguard against injury, since high reps force one to train with lighter training loads.

most overlooked part pf a steroid cycle is that you should actually go training, and train you ass off when on the juice.

Wouldn't that just hide any possible injury?
I personally know a few guys whos answer for any shoulder pain, knee pain etc is not lower the weight or go see a doc but "i'm going to run some deca to make sure i can lift more weight" and all of them are worse when they stop taking it.

And training your ass off doesn't just mean increasing the weight!
I like ;D

I see those idiots in the gym all the time, over here everybody mistakes high weights for intensity.
Intensity is the key, wether natural or not, but when you're on you get great results if you keep intensity high. Correct form, very little breaks between sets, good mixture of rep ranges and weights, machines and free weights.
The dominant training style that I see in my gym i call it "How to ruin your joints in three short sets". Bad form, too much weight and overall hardcore attitude.

FACT
There is no substitute for HARD WORK

ahahaha epic training style! big weights, loud mouth, cranky face all the time!
after 1 set they sit and wait 10min before lifting again.
To each their own i guess

Usually the guys are able to do one exercise in the time i do my whole workout, plus lately I see a guy who maxes out on squats 2-3 times a week, but is obviously in real pain and can hardly walk out of the gym after his 1 hour squat work out. He sits in the squat cage for 20 minutes and cannot get up. ::) ::) ::) ::)

x2. Even with some of the really serious guys I know; they are on a ton of gear, have great genetics etc, would probably get even better results with higher reps, lower rest periods and not loading up the t bar with 8 plates and it looking like a power shrug. They are always injured beause they are 'hardcore and comitted' and it 'comes with the sport'. lol No, it's your shitty form.....
-
I train circles around everyone at my gym and I`m older than table salt............bunch of pussies populate todays gyms!!
-
It's very tempting to train heavy on the juice, but anyone with half a brain should know that it can't be healthy to add 20kg of weight in a matter of a few weeks and then do that again or that your knees, spine and whatever other part of the body want you to deadlift or squat 200+ kg 3 times a week.
