lol, stopped doing these when i was 17, couldnt fit enough weight on my lap, had gotten up to about 5 plates and it was a bitch getting them on and off

Yes its a pain in the ass with the plates, I just do it only with my bodyweight as my last triceps exercise.

Haha, I remember this as well. Used to love this exercise, but I cant say I gained too much from it. The best excercise for triceps is pushdowns and close grip bench press imo.

If you have a partner just get them to lean with their bodyweight on your shoulders.

Funny thing is, his triceps aren't any bigger than bodybuilders that use standard tricep exercises.

the secret to huge triceps is working the long head the largest and most neglected muscle in the upper arm not dips.close benches that where people go wrong no long head training.

Thats why i made this pad,just load the plates on the bar and put your knees under the pads,when you`re finished drop to the bottom position and push the pads off your knees.

Have someone put a heavy dumbell in your lap,when you can no longer get any more reps,drop it by opening your legs and keep going to failure.

I've never really seen the point in adding weight to BW exercises for growth purposes. Say on pullups, I think doing +90 for 5-6 or just BW for 15-20, either would be just as good for growth, if anythingthe higher reps are better, so why not use the safer (high rep) alternative?
Obviously that video is just stupid.

I think if you are proficient at that particular bodyweight excercise then you should add weight..
at chins and dips for example

Yeah, I know most people will disgaree. I'd rather rather do those for higher reps with BW, and leave the heavy stuff to barbell work. Never saw much benefit from adding weight vs not.

15-20 reps with 3 plates
10 reps with 4 plates
6- 8 with 5 plates...
so instead of smashing out 60 - 70 reps with no weight...
i add weight which has been benificial

Or if you have a partner have them lean with their bodyweight on your shoulders. This puts the weight on your tri's where it should be not on your thighs!
