he was not allowed to speak out on lay notron but people with normal intellect can connect the dots since lay notron is supposedly a higher level bodybuilder than natural graham
nowadays there is also a dude that represents i_force steroids nutrition

I have my pupils squatting dead last -if at all- 1 plate max and they all have great legs. Not just big bulky legs but separated, detailed great shaped legs. I laugh at squats and all their hype.

I have my pupils squatting dead last -if at all- 1 plate max and they all have great legs. Not just big bulky legs but separated, detailed great shaped legs. I laugh at squats and all their hype.
obviously more than one way to build leg size
but squats is all i did for quads and they are my best part

no i only do squats 2-3 times a week typically and try to do leg curls and calf raises once a week mostly
a lot of people say they dont feel it in their quads but that's odd

i just dont understand how you could feel it anywhere but the quads
of course you need to make an effort to keep the back tight but....
never liked leg extensions or leg presses
i like hack squats but never do them

powerlifting squats are mostly about reducing range of motion to be able to lift more weight

Finding what works for you > all the guru knowledge in the World.
Glenn Pedley teaches a different style than Rippetoe and has had more actual coaching success than Rippetoe, and I'm sure you can find any number of respected strength coaches that teach different than the both of them.
To para-phrase multi-time U.S. Olympic Weightlifting coach Jim Schmitz, "You try to teach them the form you want, but in the end, you go back to what fits the lifter best".
Rippetoe's a good coach, but his main appeal is to new lifters that never grew up on Bill Starr, etc...... He also appeals to guys that that need a tough daddy or uncle image to look up. They enjoy that gruff "do as I say" type coaching.
Seriously, look at his board, it's a bunch of guys having races to 2 plate x side bench presses and 3 plate squats.

rippetoe is nothing for a bodybuilder,,for a powerlifter maybe,,,,but those low volume squad and dead meat potatoes,,,what the fuck will that do for delts or biceps? it will get you big thick and bloofy,,drinking gallons of milk. i have my best gains and i dont touch a deadlift or squat because of my torn labrum,,and i can train with high volume injury free and i work my muscles and they grow big and full and lean. you dont need dante and rippetoe heavy slag iron dragging sleds flipping tires squat squat squat deadlit deadlift,,,to look good as a bodybuilder,,,if you want to be as strong as an ox and look like a bloofy fat ox then yeah, but to look good and full and lean,,,you dont need that shit,,,and its an injury waiting to happen i know

I'm still waiting on Arnold's drug regimen & a copy of his genes.
Why on a board that is littered with posts of "all drugs" and "all genetics" do people still think that squatting as biomechanics intended will be the sole reason they become fat or blocky-waisted or remain skinny?

So what you're saying is that it's not drugs and genes, but way of training made him 7 times Mr Olympia? I am able to squat about 170kg at 73kg olympic style with belt but I have SMALL ass and separated legs with little bit of striations. You wanna know why? Because my mother had school records in sprint, jumping and always had small ass, small calves with ton of definition on them and normal legs. My legs are 100% like her. I do no other exercises for quads than front squats and back squats. My development is nothing out of this planet, but this is first and foremost because I use 1-6 rep range and I simply couldn't care less about "size" of my quads. They are built, could be more defined, separated and dense but what would I do with legs measuring 70cm? Put up a thong and look like an idiot? It's not practical, doesn't even look appealing to anyone except fellow bodybuilders and HONESTLY I grew out from caring what other fellow bodybuilders care about my physique.
Full squats are BEST exercise to build legs which is proven by Branch Warren, Coleman, Platz and many others as well as scientific research.
