Title: How many years is considered CLEAN.
Post by: Polish Power on February 20, 2012, 09:32:22 AM
I know some natural BB associations require 5-7 years to be considered clean. What's Getbiggers opinions on this!

Should be at least 2 years due to metabolites like from deca stay in the body for up to 24 months.

Clean means "not currently using" in my book.  So If I stopped juice last week then I have been clean for a week!  Obviously clean for a week looks different than clean for 2 years, etc.

Don't worry about Natural BB Federation standards as they aren't held as strict guidelines and most "Natural BBer's" are users.  Not clean, not natural, but users.

When all drug use stops and all effects of current drug use are out of your system.

I know of two federations who give lie detector tests and questions you on substances and clean for five years. How can you say your clean as soon as you stop?

Just my opinion, clean is defined, by me again just my opinion, when the last metabolite of what ever you are taking is out of your system.

Shouldn't it be the other way around, when users become abusers!

Lie detector tests are not 100% proven, nor are they given to 100% of the competitors.

Treat AAS like any other drug.  It's like an AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meeting where the only rule for attending is the desire to stop drinking.  You'll always be an alcoholic, but if you didn't drink today then that is 1 day sober.

Being clean starts the moment you decide to stop using (and in fact do stop).  Since most steroid users don't even compete, what does it matter what this federation or that federation determines as clean.  Again, there is not 1 single federation out there where all of it's competitors are 100% natural (or even clean).  The guys winning bodybuilding shows use drugs... end of story.

Drugs are drugs bro and you begin being clean the moment you stop using them.  It's remaining clean that's the tough part.

Well I'd say that depends on the half-life of the drug.

When you're an alcoholic and you're drunk as shit and had your last drink 5 minutes ago I wouldn't say that you've been sober for 5 minutes ..

Even more so when you're using something like test e or nandrolone decanoate.. stays in your system for weeks after your last shot.

When I stop using long-acting steroids it takes at least 3-4 weeks until I really start to notice the low hormone levels.

If you're thinking about bodybuilding competitions then I guess 2 years off would be enough time to be considered pretty much clean. You won't have kept a lot of muscle if any you have gained when you were on. After being on for a long long time it also takes quite a long time for all the "steroid muscle" to disappear. Once you've reached the point where you stop losing anymore muscle/strength that's when you could be considered clean..

You missed my point and are just being nit-picky really.

Steroids, HGH, Insulin, etc... they are all DRUGS.  Just like Cocaine, Aspirin, Marijuana, Alcohol, and Penicillin.  All DRUGS.

Yes, some drugs last longer in your system than others, but when you stop taking them, you start becoming clean.

The problem is, most people don't truthfully like to look at anabolics as drugs, but when you do, it really becomes easy to answer questions like these.

Clean should be no visible effect of gear enhancing your physique I guess...really don't know how long, or if ever after a hefty period of usage.

I'd say after two or three years of using no performance enhancing drugs, that I could consider someone to be clean. Not NATURAL, but clean. Once you ingest an exogenous hormone you've lost your natural status, not like it's anything special. You're a fag if you're natural and try to bodybuild, because bodybuilding = DRUGS.

Natural bodybuilding lol... just a schmoe show.

I have been clean many years and have not lost any muscle from when i was on. Maybe because i had reached my natural limits first or because i've kept training. Anyway i'm far far ahead of any true natural and still on par with serious long-term juicers in my gym.

I hate when people say "I've lost no muscle at all"... there's so much shit wrong with this, but in any event I do agree that you're different after having juiced. Your natural base definitely changes. When I've been off for a while I can see the same thing. I've seen it with people who've only cycled a few times too. Very different afterwards.

Stats and proportions can be the same as when someone was on, but anyone who's "ON" will look way better than someone who's off if they have the same stats. No ifs, ands or buts. Stats and proportions mean fuck all. What someone looks like is what matters.

Ur right. Traps arn't as elevated, skin not the same, slightly different look. But i competed at a weight and i am only 7-8 pounds heavier than that weight all the time so i can tell if i have changed or not. Also muscle maturity/quality over time has made me look better in that regard.
