Sacha Baron Cohen's Admiral General Aladeen Spills Kim Jong-Il's Ashes On Ryan Seacrest
After days of back and forth about whether or not Sacha Baron Cohen would be allowed to show up on the Oscars red carpet dressed as his character from "The Dictator," the comic appeared at the 84th annual Academy Awards in full dictatorial regalia -- and proceeded to prank E! red carpet host Ryan Seacrest.
Cohen -- who plays Admiral General Aladeen, a disposed North African dictator who comes to America, in the upcoming comedy -- walked the red carpet with two statuesque models before stopping to talk with Seacrest.
"I'm wearing John Galliano, but the socks are from K-Mart," Cohen quipped; he said he was holding an urn of "Kim Jong-Il's ashes." He then spilled the urn on a shocked Seacrest, before being whisked away by security.
As Seacrest told Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith after the Cohen interview, the urn was likely filled with powdered pancake mix.

I've always thought that to be a good practical jokester you have to be a little psychopathic; lack a level of empathy which allows you to ignore the embarrassment caused to other people. Watching some of his work makes me very uncomfortable to watch because of how embarassed I feel for his victims. This seems to be too true in this case, although I will admit I throughly enjoy all his skits (Borat, Ali G, and that gay guy) ;D

I saw Borat and some of it made me laugh. I wont bother to see any of his other movies, Bruno, etc. He's made a ton of money for his shtick and good on him for that. His humor is almost uncomfortable to watch, someone else commented the same thing yest.

It's either - one can joke about literally ANYTHING or nothing at all. No in-between in humor.
Cohen is a great master of black humor (or I'd call it an "absurd humor" in some cases). That's a talent... but one needs to have a special kind of "grip" to get this on a level that's not str8forward..

I actually think it does take some talent to do what he does.... staying in character while
people are losing it around you has got to be difficult to do. I would have a very hard time
making myself do the things he does just to get a laugh, even if I was getting paid heavily.
