St. Tebow on the way out...
-
how odd. eventhough was clear last season that the mangmnt and elway were never conviced of little timmy
-
Welcome home Timmy T! Time to pack Jacksonville stadium!
And when Manning gets his clock cleaned the first time and they are without a quarterback, don't be whining!
-
Coach on suicide alert.
-
Being a Steelers fan there goes my rematch this coming season
-
If verified...stupid move. Should have went with the Dome in AZ...He's a dome QB..played in one his entire career. He's going to hate it there.
-
Elway has always hated t-Bow got his chance to rid himself of a loser

Tebow will never win a superbowl or even play in one unless he's on the bench. They need to move him to a slot receiver like Welker. Not QB material.

Not to mention at altitude. Spent a year in Co, it's no joke acclimating!

He will switch positions before the end of his career. He's just not QB material.

I think he could be good in a slot receiver role. Any idea on what Denver's plans are for him? I'd say they should trade him while he's supposedly "hot" and get what they can right now. Let another team realize he's not a good NFL QB.
-
Rumor has it, he is headed to Jacksonville Jags. They wanted him originally being close to Gainesville.
Not sure about slot reciever, but tightend and use him like they do Hernandez at New England, move him around.

Never say never. Remember that Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won Super Bowls.
Elway has always hated t-Bow got his chance to rid himself of a loser
You mean a "loser" that dug his team out of a 1-4 hole, got the Broncos a division title, and pull a HUGE upset over the Steelers.
As for Manning, let's not forget that we're just a few years removed from the Favre debacle.
Same thing happened with Joe Montana.
Elway wants his squad to win a Super Bowl. No starting QB has ever won a Super Bowl with two different teams; I think the closest to do it was Kurt Warner.
If Manning goes down, DENVER IS SCREWED, unless they sign a decent backup.

I'd say Jacksonville or Miami to bring in a hometown hero and fill seats.
-
Any details on the contract?

I've even heard a whisper about Tampa Bay.
-
I've even heard a whisper about Tampa Bay.
I've heard New England too. I can see Belichik using him like Aaron Hernandez. A little running back, tight end, or even option QB.
-
Five years for $100,000,000? I would play on the moon, in the rain, at night, with no pants.
-
tebow would do well in new england. Keep his head down and put in the work behind brady. use him in other positions and on a few trick plays.
Belichick would use him wisely and would NOT be a slave to tebow-mania like they were in Denver. Belichik will give the finger to fans demanding they bench brady lol.

I figured SF, since they added Moss and Manningham. As a Giants fan, I'm glad he didn't do that.

Dr. Seuss has joined us in the Sports Center.
Not in a house with a mouse, or in a box, with a fox....
-
I can see Tebow in a dark room sitting in a rocking chair saying this out loud.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

i agree if Denver puts all there eggs in one basket with manning and he does go down they are screwed...
T-Bow on other hand was briefly successful due to the lack of film on him. people know how to plan for him... he is garbage.

Why were the Broncos "slave" to Tebowmania again?
Let's see: You're 1-4; your team's going nowhere. You have a first-round draft pick sitting on the bench, backing a re-tread QB who's done ZILCH for your squad.
You get Tebow the nod and, for all his flaws, he gets you a division title and a playoff win against last year's AFC champs.
So, instead of developing this guy for the future, you ditch him for a guy who is a future Hall-of-Famer but is a sneeze away from being in a wheelchair. There's a reason the Colts didn't give him the $28 million and let him walk.
-

There was plenty of film on him. Remember that Minnesota game? Jared Allen nearly exploded after that two-point conversion play. Everybody and their mama knew it was a QB draw to Tebow. Tebow still made the play.
Tebow needs more development and a veteran QB as a mentor. Manning would have been perfect for him.
-
elway looked at the schedule - something like TEN top QBs that tebow wasn't going to beat.
he got very lucky last year. PIT was totally injured on the defensive side, hence the playoff win.
Defenses know how to get him now. Make him go left and make him throw. He's inneffective now. An average backup. He'll sell jerseys and will be a great tight end to knock people down. But throwing the ball ain't his thing.
-
Josh McDaniels is the offensive coordinator in NE. He drafted tebow 15th. he would love to have him.
Watcn and see. Brady goes down with an injury and Tebow lucks his way to a super bowl win ;D

He went left and threw against Pittsburgh and shredded the Steelers to pieces. He did the same thing to the Bears, Vikings, and Jets.
The key is PENETRATION. As those aforementioned teams learned the hard way, if you get Tebow DOWN and he gets free, there are going to be guys down the field WIDE OPEN and if Tebow hits them....GOOD NIGHT!!
If Alex Smith can turn it around, then Tebow ,with the right mentor and coach, can become LETHAL in the NFL.

Ah now we see the root of all your Tebow love.

GUESS WE WILL SEE HOW SUCCESSFUL TBOW IS..... HARD TO USE SUCCESSFUL WITH TBOW IN THE SAME SENTENCE..... ;D THE NFL IS A PASSING LEAGUE NOT THE SPREAD OFFENSE LIKE URBAN MADE IT.

No, we see you're projecting again. Is there something you'd like to tell the group? I'm talking about football, here

This.
-
vince young was successful too - early on.
once tebow gets a few dings, he can't move like that anymore. At his absolute fastest, a D playing great, and a ton of luck, he got that streak. But he was entirely average at the end of the year. He "shredded" Pitt - ? - Overtime and he got damn lucky. Their schedule is VERY tough this year. Manning will have his hands full. Tebow woudl be 3-13.

Quarterbacks are judged, by wins and losses. Last season, Tebow went 7-4 as a starter, won the AFC West, and won his first playoff game against the defending AFC champions.
Not bad for a guy, who just got a full season of football under his belt.

It's possible. Keep in mind the fluidity of the NFL. There are always teams that make the playoffs one year that don't the next. Denver itself was one of those teams. Tebow was 3-1 against the division.

With a Healthy Running game, I pick Oakland to win the AFC west this year... Of course, with Manning at the helm, that can all change.

teams are judged by wins and losses not individuals.. listen I hope Tebow does well but the odds are stacked against him... he isn't NFL material. college level to NFL level is a brutal step. Tebow will get hurt and his career will be over.... Vick began to notice this and he reinvented himself

If Jason Campbell were still Oakland's QB, I'd agree with you. But with Palmer, throwing picks left and right, I don't think Oakland can overcome that.

Campbell?
He's terrible. Now that Palmer has a good running game and will have a full schedule to work with, I think he's going to be good.

The Raiders were on top of the division, when Campbell was the starter. His injury is the only reason Oakland traded for Palmer.
And, it was Palmer, throwing picks like no tomorrow, that helped Denver overtake Oakland to win the division.

When you win division titles and playoff games in the NFL, you are NFL material. Tebow has done that.
What you said about Tebow was said about Vick. But, Vick is still playing and he got to develop behind McNabb, with a QB coach like Reid.

They were banged up. He's not an NFL qb man.

He's 3-0 in Denver

Denver was banged up, too. Dakwins, OUT! Moreno, OUT!, Their starting center, OUT! Decker, OUT (early 1st quarter).
Bottom line is Tebow carved Pittsburgh up like a Thanksgiving turkey. They blitzed but didn't get to Tebow and there were dudes WIDE OPEN, 40+ yards down field.
Division title, playoff win, in his second year in the league (after the team was 1-4, prior to his getting the start).

There's a big difference between winning a wild card game and being capable of going deeper in the playoffs. Tebow is a one trick pony, the elite teams will always have an answer for him like the Patriots did last year.

My question is this, didn't the elite teams have an answer for 80% of the league, but I do not hear them blaming one player for the teams downfall?
Was it Tebow guarding those tightends that Brady seemed to be playing throw and catch with in the first half? Was it Tebow blocking Spikes when he broke his ribs?
Is Tebow perfect? No, but can he play, hell yea!

New England is the ultimate "system" NFL team. They certainly aren't going to change their system around to accommodate Tebow as a QB if Brady got hurt...Hell, NE's two back up QB's are better than half the starters on every other team now. And Tebow's ego is too huge to not play QB in the NFL...

I am not a Tebow fan, but I don't see any indication that he's got some huge ego.
This is the same person who has been a number 3 quarterback ever since he got into the league and never once bitched or complained.

Sure seemed like the worse fit of the final 3 choices. Oh well. I guess money was more important to him than SB's

8-8 or 9-7
He would pull out 2 potential loses, because the defense would keep him in the games.
Manny was a fool not to go to Tennessee or Arizona. The Arctic cold will kill him and his 80/20 pass/run game.

I think belichick has the balls to just say "You're a tight end or a back now, Timmy boy".
And fans would get behind him. And tebow would be good at that and knock some people down. and once a game, I do think they would play with him tossing an easy pass on a trick play.
But yeah, timmay's ego is pretty big.

Should have went to SF

Should have went to SF
AFC path to super bowl is MUCH easier than in the NFC.
Getting past Eli, Cutler, Vick, Rodgers... that's tough.
In the AFC, he has to get past Brady in the playoffs. And maybe rapelesberger.
