Top Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs said on Meet the Press Sunday that the “biggest idea” of Obama’s reelection campaign would be a message of continuing “moving in the right direction of fixing this economy.”
“We know this about Mitt Romney,” Gibbs said, “he’s not a job creator. When he was governor of Massachusetts, they were 47th out of 50 in job creation. His experiences in downsizing and outsourcing jobs and bankrupting companies and walking away with a lot of money for himself. His economic ideas are the failed economic ideas that we tried for eight years.”
Gibbs responded to another question about women voters and the economy, saying, “David, their message is: You didn’t clean up our mess fast enough.”

The Obama administration hasn't cleaned up anyone's mess; it's ADDED to that mess.
It was the administration that said unemployment wouldn't exceed 8% if the stimulus was passed. It's been over 8% for nearly ALL of Obama's presidency.
It was Obama who said he'd cut the deficit in half. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
It was Obama who said, that he'd turn the economy around in three years or he'd be a one-term president. Those words may ring true come November.
It was Obama and his minions who said he'd run the most ethical and transparent administration in history. We got scandals out the wazoo.
And, to show how well Obama and crew were at cleaning up the mess, the Democrats got the lips slapped off their faces in 2010, suffering a defeat that Obama himself described as a "shellacking".
But, let the liberals keep thinking the "Blame Bush! We inherited this mess" mantra will work this time around.

Im not blaming anybody for 9/11. NO ONE took terrorism seriously enough for it to be politically possible to confront it. But when Bush took office the intelligence apparatus was not set up well enough to stop attacks. The CIA could not talk to the FBI. That was changed under Bush. As a result, after 9/11, under Bush we had virtually no terrorist attacks on American soil or AMERICAN INTERESTS ABROAD!! We had several of those in the 90s.
Under Obama we had two non government foiled terrorist attacks.

agreed. what increases in the economy romney was referring to - I could have called that "fluctuations in just HOW LOW the economy is going to be. I would call 2-14 just as bad as 0-16 because it's continued failure to varying degrees, and we'll probably be back to 0-16 the following year.

That statement might come back to hunt him, unless he was making a comparison to obamatheclown's first 2 years in office. Is that an improvement? Yes, when you compare it to 2009 and 2010, but not to the Bush years. That is what he can argue.

The economy went into the tank as soon as pelosi and reid took over the congress. Things were relatively fine until 2006 and the deficits and debt were not exploding like they did until after that communist c vnt and reid took over.
