I fucking hate dieting... and I will eventually compete again (Probably after the PhD), so I'll diet whenever that is... But the main reason I HATE dieting in the off-season, is I hate feeling like I'm not progressing in the gym (or at least not progressing as fast), so as a result I stay with this blubber!
Right now I weigh about 230-235 and eating almost 4000 calories, 340 g protein, 465 g carbs, 85 g fat

Probably not. He knows himself he has 50lbs to lose, very close to what I had in mind. He's gonna lose 1 inch per 15lbs lost on average, put him down at least 3 inches from where he is now. Some muscle will be lost as the hill is a steep and very inclined one to climb and you're looking at another inch lost.
16 inches is what we're looking at when lean. 16.5 tops.
You must really be an endomorph to get that heavy on so few cals, I mean you're close to 6 feet you said, I think. If you're not doing post workout cardio now, I would seriously start.
As age and the stresses of life catch up to him, the chances of ever getting that lean again get smaller and smaller. Isn't he in a PHD study. I can't imagine trying to diet down, no carbs and such then trying to stay up and study. He could always take tren to not sleep but his mind would be elswhere when he is trying to read.

Ach`s a great guy........known him a long time,that being said,you should always strive to stay in decent condition unless you are a beginner or an extreme ectomorph.

LOL....ACH, you have to remember that I'm 5'6 and that was waaay too heavy for me. I'm between 212-215lbs and fairly soft now and was 195 when I competed last. I HATE dieting or I would be 200 or less right now. Try to stay with in 15lbs of your comp weight.
^^^ the way I recommended you to eat, would have you looking like that. The dude has more muscle than you currently, but you could be a smaller version of just that.

Coach, I compete around 175 - 180 and people told me I look my best at 200 - 215 lbs in the off-season.
I still just don't feel comfortable at that weight, I just end up feeling small!
Plus, I'm 6 feet so I'm way way waaay smaller than you in general!

I meant I find it weird you get so heavy with so few, meaning you an endo, meaning your body does not like carbs. Some fools say it does not matter when you eat them. It does! 8)I am the same way and when I get heavy everyone is giving me advise, ha lololol,... giving me advise? ...I have had striated glutes before and people tell me do this, do that, watch what you eat, funny these are the guys that have never seen their abs.
Whenever I get the itch I'll go for it full force!
Until then, just gonna keep doing what I've been doing!
