Which system ultimately brought you the most joy? Personally I was a bit too young when the NES was hot and thus passed it up; going back and playing those games now isn't fun either. On the other hand, I played endless hours on Pokemon Blue & Red, catching all 151 original pokemon and building the ultimate team. What say you getbig?

haha NES :)
it's not even a contest.
Super Mario 3, Castlevania, Metroid, Double Dragon on NES were my first games ;D

Epic. I just finished Castlevania symphony of the night a couple of days ago. Those games are all time classics.

I think I was about 6 when NES came out, I loved it.
Metroid
Contra
Kid Icarus
Legend of Zelda
Spy Hunter
Skykid - lesser known game, one of the best ever though
Tiger Heli
Iron Tank
-
Can't decide head explodes.
-
I am thinking of getting the new PS Vita but it has not being hacked as yet so i am holding off for a bit.

my then best mate, a fellow eleven-year-old NES-head was into Legend of Zelda. I remember trading him my Ninja Gaiden II cartridge for Battletoads and Operation Wolf.

I always preferred the Sega MasterSystem over the NES. Wasn't fussed with the Gameboy.
Although when the SNES came out that topped the lot.
-
-
NES was a great system, great spokesman and family man.
-
PONG.
-
I never got into the gameboy cause of the turd colored graphics.
-
NES. Contra baby.
-
-
If your gonna compare something, at least make it something worth while comparing. NES vs gambeoy, wtf? NES hands down, only a retard would vote for gameboy...
Here`s the real question.
NES vs SNES?
At least you can think about that one....

NES no question. How old are you? I'm 23, and we played the hell out of NES.
Gameboy was okay, I remember playing the Pokemon game for a couple months on it.
-
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt Cartridge Mother Fuckers
-
NES for sure.
Mario 1,2,3
Zelda
Metroid
etc.
etc.
etc.
Now the real question -
NES
or
SNES
Id say SNES - most of the great NES games were redone for SNES.
Plus -
Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Final Fantasy III/VI
etc etc etc.
-
Pinball Machines > everything else.
-
Oh god...oh no...no....AHHHH!!
hahahahaha! I fucking hated that level!!!! Oh the little boy rages I had.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Super NES? NES heyday was like 1985-1990, by the time you were five or six nobody was making very many games for it anymore. It was discontinued in America in like 1995 I think.
-
TITS
-
both rocked but
both < SNES
-
SNES fer sure. Super Metroid and Super Mario Bros 3: a lot of hours/months lost there. Really fun games. I watch my nephew play the COD-type games these days, and realize that these are now beyond me, I am old. ;D
/struggling with wii games at present
-
TECMO BOWL. All the way. Pick the RAIDERS, run Bo Jackson all the time and score each time. It was too funny how untouchable they made BO, sweep left or run up the middle.

Street Fighter II for SNES.
Most addictive game ever. 8)

Oh man. That brings back memories. I still have that in a box somewhere. Me and a buddy would play that for hours, all the while drinking pints. We knew a few of the combos for each character, but mostly we were button mashing. Fun, fun stuff. ;D

I remember playing that game at Godfathers pizza everytime we went there.
Super metroid was LEGENDARY.

Ha! We have a Godfather's. Big portions, but the grease amounts deter any return business. Re: video games: I'll raise you, and suggest the table top ones you could play in an licensed establishment with a buddy. Lost a lot of hours and quarters playing Arkanoid.

Haha - I was only about 14 when it came out on the arcade. Used to use my entire weeks wages from delivering newspapers (about 20 bucks) and blow it all in a matter of minutes playing it at the arcade and never have any money left for my bus fare home. It appeared on the SNES a year later and I thought I was going to save a fortune but then I discovered Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazine. My life was over ;D

Totally explains you lack of list-lessness. 'Nuff said.

Ok, we are of the same age but you were able to play NES games in the convenience and comfort of your crib. I'm sorry but I just wasn't as advanced as you!
I will continue to be the contrarian here and say Gameboy is better simply due to hours played. I always try and get into NES games and just feel punished due to the difficulty. Meanwhile, Pokemon had amazing gameplay mechanics and was an epic adventure (strip away the homo glean with the whole 'catch em all' shite and it was a genuinely amazing game from a design standpoint).
But maybe I just suck.
-
Snes was awesome, resident evil was one of the best games.
-
Mortal Kombat with the blood ;D
A,B,A,C,A,B,B ;D
-
Not sure if serious.gif
Resident began in 1996 on the PS1. Speaking of Resident Evil, I'm pretty sure 3 was the best of the old breed of games, while 4 is simply one of the coolest games ever made.
lol j/k I love the RE series. My fav was RE 4. I must have beaten that game at least 30 times. RE 3 was my first RE game. It was really cool and one of the most scariest games I've played. And I always been into survival horror games :P

Mario All-Stars for SNES.
Super Mario, Super Mario "The lost levels" (I think), Super Mario 2, and Super Mario 3.
Best. Game. Evar.

Oh man, youre talking about the table sized ones with the screen mounted in the table itself?
I remember those things.

The best arcade game was the Ninja Turtles one where four people could play at once.
There was also an X-Men game where I think six people could play, it was gigantic.

Yes to both!

Yup. Before this came out for SNES I used to hit up the local DQ or HEB and play there. I was so good, that if other people were there to bet, I could play for hours with 1 credit. 8)

white guys are nerdy as fuck ::)

Turtles, Xmen, and Simpsons were the best arcade games! Good days back then!
-
Fuck guys. Nothing beat Mortal Kombat. Especially when you figured out the kill sequences.
-
Sadly, I still think Pokemon Red + Blue beats all of these out, as it is a deep RPG experience with potentially hundreds of hours of play available (plus competitive multiplayer). Speaking of which, were there ever any actual RPG's for NES?
There was a Super Mario RPG. That's the only one I remember.

You'd roll into the arcade with your crew 4 deep; everyone would grab a stick and crank in quarters til you beat everyone of those games.

There was plenty of RPG's on SNES.

You're right. I forgot about that. I wasn't really into RPG games; that's probably why I got that mixed up.

These words take on a whole new meaning for Flinstones.
