SNES fer sure. Super Metroid and Super Mario Bros 3: a lot of hours/months lost there. Really fun games. I watch my nephew play the COD-type games these days, and realize that these are now beyond me, I am old.     ;D

TECMO BOWL.  All the way.  Pick the RAIDERS, run Bo Jackson all the time and score each time.  It was too funny how untouchable they made BO, sweep left or run up the middle.

Oh man. That brings back memories. I still have that in a box somewhere. Me and a buddy would play that for hours, all the while drinking pints. We knew a few of the combos for each character, but mostly we were button mashing. Fun, fun stuff.    ;D

Ha! We have a Godfather's. Big portions, but the grease amounts deter any return business. Re: video games: I'll raise you, and suggest the table top ones you could play in an licensed establishment with a buddy. Lost a lot of hours and quarters playing Arkanoid.

Haha - I was only about 14 when it came out on the arcade. Used to use my entire weeks wages from delivering newspapers (about 20 bucks) and blow it all in a matter of minutes playing it at the arcade and never have any money left for my bus fare home. It appeared on the SNES a year later and I thought I was going to save a fortune but then I discovered Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazine. My life was over  ;D

NES no question.   How old are you?  I'm 23, and we played the hell out of NES.

Gameboy was okay, I remember playing the Pokemon game for a couple months on it.

Ok, we are of the same age but you were able to play NES games in the convenience and comfort of your crib. I'm sorry but I just wasn't as advanced as you!

I will continue to be the contrarian here and say Gameboy is better simply due to hours played. I always try and get into NES games and just feel punished due to the difficulty. Meanwhile, Pokemon had amazing gameplay mechanics and was an epic adventure (strip away the homo glean with the whole 'catch em all' shite and it was a genuinely amazing game from a design standpoint).

But maybe I just suck.

Not sure if serious.gif

Resident began in 1996 on the PS1. Speaking of Resident Evil, I'm pretty sure 3 was the best of the old breed of games, while 4 is simply one of the coolest games ever made.

lol j/k I love the RE series. My fav was RE 4. I must have beaten that game at least 30 times. RE 3 was my first RE game. It was really cool and one of the most scariest games I've played. And I always been into survival horror games :P

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Super NES?  NES heyday was like 1985-1990, by the time you were five or six nobody was making very many games for it anymore.  It was discontinued in America in like 1995 I think.

I believe mine was passed down from older cousin.  I got the SNES for Christmas but I still played teh fuck out of Super Mario 1, 2, and mostly 3.  ;D

Mario All-Stars for SNES.

Super Mario, Super Mario "The lost levels" (I think), Super Mario 2, and Super Mario 3.

Best. Game. Evar.

The best arcade game was the Ninja Turtles one where four people could play at once.

There was also an X-Men game where I think six people could play, it was gigantic.

Yup. Before this came out for SNES I used to hit up the local DQ or HEB and play there. I was so good, that if other people were there to bet, I could play for hours with 1 credit.  8)

I think I was about 6 when NES came out, I loved it.
Metroid
Contra
Kid Icarus
Legend of Zelda
Spy Hunter
Skykid - lesser known game, one of the best ever though
Tiger Heli
Iron Tank

Now, THAT'S classic. But don't forget:

Rush-N-Attack
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge
CastleVania 2: Simon's Quest
CastleVania 3: Dracula's Curse

Super Mario 2
Super Mario 3
Blaster Master (all this drama to rescue a FROG)

Double Dragon (nothing the arcade game, no two player simutaneous mode, had to earn hearts to get fighting moves)
Double Dragon 2: The Revenge
Double Dragon 3: The Sacred Stones

Super C (Contra 2)

Gradius
Life Force (Gradius 2)
Gunsmoke
Gyruss

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (one turtle at a time)
TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze
TMNT 3

Section Z
Commando
Bionic Commando

Those are some of the games I played and beat, back in the day.
