No shit. Pretty sure Coach could destroy those, if his bench is any indication.

Those must be for the 70-74 age bracket.

Dude is on page 2 of the March 24 meet.

It'll be like stealing candy from a baby. I know guys here in Cal in other (tested) feds that DL hundreds more than that and are well into their 60s.  Coach'll just do his pre-lift Obama glares and thrash his way into the USPA California record book.

Ha! No need for cracking any ammonia, just flash a pic of Obama in front of him and step back.      ;D

I looked all over that USPA site and unless I missed something, it's not a tested event.

Correctemundo. My bad: the other fed in question (AAU) is tested.

Why would you want to go after a record like that? It's very easy to see if a record is worth having or not.

I just got done with a speed upper body. I did 10 x 3 with :30 rest at 50% of my 1RM (approx 215lbs) with about 200lbs of band resistance. That record has to be a mistake.

Hmmm. Here's the link to the California USPA records for the 50-54 age group and I don't see that guy's lifts listed as records for the 100 kg class ???.  Probably just hasn't been updated yet.

http://www.uspla.org/california/state_records/raw/index.php?group=0&subgroup=4 (http://www.uspla.org/california/state_records/raw/index.php?group=0&subgroup=4)

That said, the 90 kg class records are higher than Womelsdorf's 100 kg numbers:

Squat        142.5    314.16     Dennis Cannataro    10/09/2011
Bench        150       330.69     Dennis Cannataro    10/09/2011
Deadlift      205        451.9     Daniel Harvey          02/26/2011

TOTAL      445       981.05      Dan Harvey             12/10/2011

Anyway, if you can break the record while it's that low, there's no shame in that.  Nobody will mistake you for Ed Coan, but it's a decent federation and a record is a record.

If I was Joe,I`d enter and put the record out of reach of anyone else for years.

It would be cool to have a record that could never be broken.

Thanks for that. I bring this up because a there was a USPA meet today in Costa Mesa and he said he broke the state squat record (429lbs) for his class. Not sure of his weight but he's 44 years old. I was just curious of what the previous records were. Thanks for the links.

No disrespect Coach it's just that those numbers look ridiculously low.  I am very surprised.  But hey, it can help your business for sure if you can validate it.

This is from USA Powerlifting in my age group. I would be in the 220lb division....

Looking at the date, I figure that is that is an early record in a very new class.

See, a few years ago, even the Raw classes have had little wars about how "Raw" Raw should be and there were all sorts of new classifications, etc........ in many federations. I think that might of happened here.

Even the USPF, which has been around for a long time has tons of open spaces -

Considering Coach's beliefs (and IQ), I was expecting a video of him and a bunch of biggots breaking death metal records for the sake of Jesus.

The Uspa is the best fed out there. It's still pretty new. There havent been too many meets and those numbers will go up. Good luck coach. The meet will be top notch. I have lifted with mike w and he is a great guy. Lifetime natural I believe.  No they don't test
