Title: Why does the Romney camp keep repeating this demonstrably false accusation?
Post by: garebear on July 16, 2012, 08:49:48 AM
On Sunday, senior Romney adviser Ed Gillespie claimed that Romney need only release two years of tax returns, in line with the precedent set by former presidential nominees John McCain and John Kerry.

But Kerry actually released 20 years of returns when he challenged President George W. Bush in 2004.

This has been proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to be false over and over. I honestly don't understand why it keeps getting repeated.

I know I'll get some "Obama said this..." flames for this, but at least there's some contention over other points of debate in the campaign.

From a purely politically strategic standpoint, what is the meaning of it?

Gillespie is a loose cannon.  He also said "retroactive retirement'' which is pretty embarassing too.

I bet he stop speaking for romney soon - just too embarassing.  Put him at a desk for strategy.  but he's too much in love with his own voice to keep getting on TV speaking for mittens.

i agree with 33 that obama should release his education, work, finance, and other records.  EVERY candidate should.  You want th nuke football but don't want to tell us how you made 40  million dollars 24 months ago?  Go fck yourself lol.  Too much risk of bribery or other damage.

From a business perspective his probably pretty good. Makes a lot of money, carreer etc.

From a human stand point he is a embarrasing spine-less flipflopper

If he was running for CEO for a company, he'd be an awesome choice.

His perforamnce as gov is way more indicative of what he'd do as prez.  You have to ask why he was great in business but average/liberal as governor.
