Back in the barbaric days of humanity we will crazy stuff like fighting to the death in an arena, but these are modern times, if a 6 year kid gets knocked out it could affect him for the rest of his life, those kids should be taken away from the parents by the state.

Actually kim is not as soft as you might think she fought in a celebrity boxing match and did very well.

I'm with Che on this one. I am a licensed MMA judge here in Ohio and we do have youth matches BUT they are non striking matches and exhibition only. We are not even allowed to judge them because it is 18 and over. But it is in a controlled atmosphere and it is a sport no matter how much people call it human cock fighting etc etc other then the strikes how is it any different then kids being in Jujitsu or karate or god forbid Boxing. It is a sport it builds discipline and it keeps kids from being fucking pussies!!!! Kids now a days are so fucking weak minded, shit they cant even play dodge ball in school no more cause all the little fat kids (which I was one of) feel left out and neglected!

Child Abuse WTF ever you all are crazy!!!!

I don't see anything wrong with this.  These are just a pair of kids taking part in a form of Martial Arts.  It's no different from a Karate or Tae Kwon Do tournament.

As a matter of fact, I'd go a step further and say that of all the martial arts, JiuJitsu is probably the safest (unless you consider Aikido a martial art).

A kid can more easily fracture his skull from riding his bike out in concrete streets, than while taking part in this tournament that clearly has heavily padded gloves and a mat that is clearly nearing that of a tempurpedic mattress.

Me and my 2 brothers , we are all a year appart ,growing up would have major scraps, of course we were not trained in any way or fashion, I did once put my brother In a Rick flair figure 4 and hurt my brothers leg, he later got me in a Boston crab and hurt the shit out my gut..... Oh and the DDT I gave my brother caused him amnesia for the day (that one scared me, after that I stop really trying to fight with them).

LOL being kids and thinking wrestling was real, and doing real wrestling moves , the good old 80's

Well - don't come to Thailand then. I regularly see Muay Thai fights at the national level stadiums with kids this young in them. They usually start the nights off this way.

There's a lot of poverty here. Muay Thai gives them something to channel their energy into. It also offers a way to make money (fighting & teaching) that would not be available to them. It teaches discipline and keeps them off the crystal meth.

Still - I can understand the shock of some fat Westerner that goes to work in a gas guzzler and sits in comfort on their fat ass in front of TV soaps every night. It's just that many people aren't so blessed around the world.

To be honest - these kids were doing nothing I didn't do in fights at school in the playground @ that age.

My 9 year old Son fell off an ATV bike he was riding & broke his arm 1 inch above the elbow.

We were nowhere near a major hospital and the doctor at a local clinic had to reset the arm without any anasthetic - to prevent soft tissue damage during the 3 hour ambulance ride back to town.

Did my kid scream when they reset his arm? Fuck yeah. Did he then turn round to dad and as "Phew, that was a bit harsh"? Oh yeah.

Did I feel bad? Of course?  Do I now wrap him up in cotton wool and stop him from doing things where he could get injured (i.e. everything). Of course not.

I'd hate to be a kid nowadays.

You and Che should be ashamed of yourselves the fight starts off with one kid trying to punch the other in the face and he duck under and did a take down, they are in a bar at night around alcohol and gambling a kid is not developed enough to take concussions, by the time they are teenagers they will be punch drunk, with people exploiting kids like this and you guys agreeing with it no wonder the world is so fucked up.

One is a combat sport where he is going to learn discipline, confidence, and the ability to defend himself (among other things), the other is a pageant where the only thing he'll learn is how to sell his body for a plastic trophy. Tough choice  ::)

A.BB is not a sport, and please dont ever compare it to a combat sport again.

B.They are not the same thing, you dont have to take juice in a combat sport to compete at a decent level like you do in BB. And it actually takes skill.

It's called fucking rules. I can think back to the kids I knew growing up wearing helmets and those that didn't. And sure enough the helmet didn't make a difference. But I can gaurente you that those that were taught to follow the rules were much better off as adults. It's called self restraint, the same people that didn't wear helmets are knee deep in debt, got bastard children, or drug problems.

Everything, children that are shown boundries as a child will have difficulties in adult life. It's basic child development, if you want your child not to be a fuck up, you need them to learn the order fast.

Studies show there are tons of correlations, between setting strict boundries as a child and success. Kids that don't have bed times, are rewarded for impulsiveness etc, will not fair well in life.

A. Lol

B. What does forcing your kid to wear pads have to do with rules? He could have plenty of rules that he follows, that dont involve forcing him to wear fucking kneepads on a damn little trike scooter thing.

Thats pretty cool, sports are a great way to teach responsibility, discipline and many other life lessons to kids, from young they learn to lose and control themselves.

Unlike 6 and 7 year old americans who are sitting in front of a pc eating junk food and playing WoW, these kids are doing physical activities which develop the mind.

It's not a sure bet, but odds are these things will add up. So if it's a game of chance why would any responsible parent take chances with there children. Takes chances is how you end up with a sage stallone.
