In almost every big city there is a Chinatown, a little Italy or Portuguese section. Now more and more we have areas that are all Hindu or Sikh or Sri Lankan. It's not uncommon to see women in full burkhas where I live. These people all escaped their shithole countries to build a better life and guess what? They cling to the traditions that made their countries such a mess in the first place such as honor killings. And if you think for a moment that a caucasian is welcome in their neighbourhood, you are woefully misinformed.

This seems to apply for many people ("want to be around their own kind"), but keep in mind that the situation is not the same in every country. Over here (Netherlands), there's a good diversity of nationalities, so no local 'mini countries'. If this was the case and I would life in a such an environment, I would prob feel different, but right now I don't have a problem with the differences.

communautarism ,ie communities living side by side with each others without jumping at each others throats only works as long as the economy and nany states are functionning, as long as people have tv, food, electricity, water.. Once all of this collapse, say, during a recession, all these different ethnies will fight each others to death for the local ressources, sticking with their own kind. If people from different ethnies share a common belief tho, they can unite together beyond their skin color.
