Cause I'm such a beast.

I feel sorry for all the scratches that floor has to endure. Don`t you know any better than to put something like that directly on a Hard Wood floor? ???
-
It's true, it's been scratched in places. It's astonishing how ignorant I've been about housing, I learn something new every day though.
Would you recommend some sort of cover, TA? Or a different type chair?

Lose some weight you fat fuck, plus the constant friction of you moving your ass in the chair while jacking off does not help either.
-
Just get an ordinary plastic mat or rip up that ugly, boring parquet flooring and put in something that doesn't look like the matching hardware in the room should be brass. Some styles should never poke their heads out of the late 70's, early 80's again.

Please don't tell me you would rip that floor up...please?

No shit. Thats higher quality than what you can get at most big box stores.
-
Get yourself a Bamboo Mat. I weight about 300lbs and this mat has been holding up for me for the past 3 years.

This will support your fat ass no problem. Could probably support 400 lbs.

My weight is 230 at 6'4 and half and a bit, if anything I'm average for my height... I don't think I should need a reinforced steel chair, damnit!

Nothing wrong with that floor.

What is the best home/office chair for sitting at your desk?
The Herman Miller Aeron chair gets consistently good reviews, but I can never find it at a local store. The last time I bought a chair sat in all of them at the store and bought the one I thought I fit in best. :-\

Can`t wash the Protein Fart smell out of it (which may or may not be a Perk for Bay)?

I'm seeing an Eames lounge chair in your place, somewhere. Maybe with pre-embargoed wood.

I can`t tell of any major damage to your floor, but I am sure its scratched a bit. Look into getting a finishing oil such as Linseed, Tung Oil and or a Paste Wax for the floor. Rub on, buff off and repeat until no scratches appear or are lessened until no longer visible.
Any thick cover will do, but make sure its not abrasive on the back where it hits the floor. A Circular Braided Rug is also a great option which is very thick and which also happens to be a unique piece of Americana.

Thank you so much, if it works it'll be unbelievable- I thought I had damaged the floor permanently!

No way you damaged that floor permanently. Worst case Scenario, you`d have to sand a bit, stain and finish which is simple to do, but I think in your case you can build up some wax and oil layers and it will be fine. Those oils are hardening oils which mean they heat up and then dry hard, forming a nice surface. Whatever you apply them with, DO NOT ball up your rag as it may spontaneously combust as these oils produce an Exothermic reaction when drying. Wash your rags out and place them out to dry, completely spread out and then throw away. Or throw away wet.

The Aeron is best. You can find them on Craigslist, ebay etc. for less if used. And they hold up really well so you are safe getting them used.
You could try Design Within Reach - there are a few in Cali.
The Aeron Chair with polished finish is expensive though - over $1000. It will last a lifetime. Haworth also makes nice office chairs but they are not as durable as the Aeron I think.
These companies (Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth) are all based out of Michigan so you are supporting Made in USA.

That's hideous.

I'm a fan of older wood or aluminum office chairs. The main problem I find with newer office chairs is that the wheel pocket is usually too thin and cracks or loosens with time.
My current office chair is a re-upholstered Goodform similar to this -
(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Mi5VfhVwrzs/SkxAVkwgR0I/AAAAAAAAWZw/2-YcbGeLsb0/s800/gc1.JPG).
Comfy and nothing short of a bomb strike is hurting it.

Its dated and ugly as fuck. If your going to lay down wood flooring in that vein, there are a million patterns that look better than that and won't look like it belongs in an Al Bundy town home.

Avoid any rubber-backed rugs on any kind of floor because IT WILL permanently discolor the floor over time.

It's still a wood floor - which beats a piss stained mud trampled carpet floor any day of the week. With cleaning, nice furniture and area rugs it will look great. Standard hardwood floors are a dime a dozen. You don't see a parquet wood floor every day.
Not exactly the same floor but you get the idea.

With modern furniture and white walls the floor will look good.

Look at the furniture, just like where I said the floor belongs, in the past. The first place you posted looks like something True Adonis would want to die in and his life would be complete. Then again he puts a bowl over his head when he cuts his hair so I don't know what that says about taste standards.
Brass hardware on the door, just like I said. lol Pink walls look great.

I bet you get a hard on every time the new Ikea catalog comes out. Wonderful that you advocate a throw-away society based on cheap material and consumption. What would your dear hero Ron Poop Paul think of this? ;D

Lol. Keep dreaming. 8) you do know that just because something isn't a hundred years old it can still be high quality and/or custom made, right? I don't have one piece of anything that came out of Ikea, but you can keep thinking that if it makes you feel better.

TA, thanks for the advices bro. An oil-based solution and a bit of sanding made the floor look like new!
