online sales of ammo shoot up 7000%

He didn't even fire off a hundred rounds so what's the justification in their heads?  All he would have had to do is buy 100.  And you're right, he could have just went down and picked them up at any of several locations in his area.

Idiotic overreaction.
Next thing will be them monitoring the amount of ammunition you can buy, just like they did with Pseudoephedrine during their Meth witchhunt.

Panic reaction

Always happen after something like this

sucking up to their base.  intro'ing a bill they konw the repubs will reject.

You'll see the people doing it are those in very liberal districts, beholden to their donors/base.

it's like the repubs intro'ing 46 abortion bills, knowing obama would crush everyone if they made it to him (senate cockblocking them first of course).

We know 46 bills on abortion are nothing but sucking up to base, but we're okay with it, right?

Ahhh the moral equivilency argument, cudos cracker jack.

Apparently this bill woult not simply regulate online sales but effectively ban them.

It would require that ppl show photo ID at the time of purchase making online purchases effectively banned.

pretty shitty of the dems and obama to support this...at least we know where obama stands now, right cracker jack?

"It requires ammunition buyers who are not licensed dealers to present photo identification at the time of purchase, effectively banning the online or mail order purchase of ammo by regular civilians."

Oh, they know... They just want to pander.

The problem is that you don't pander about constitutional rights... If you say you can take away guns, then you can take away other rights.

They've already suspended Habeas Corpus  where they can and to keep that right gone, they will have to take away our guns... A reckoning is at hand it seems.

I apologize I read in haste, it is said they will evaluate the legislation.

I dont know where you read he is unlikely to support it, He has talked out both sides of his mouth on this issue par for the course for obama but maybe youve only read the one side.

I've read several opinions from different sources that he is unlikely to support it.  Nice trying to turn this into my fault when I was just trying to see if he had actually voiced support for this bill as you said.

obama ain't touching guns.   romney, despite his record, probably won't either.  It's a non-issue.

Sure, you will have people saying things or introducing something they know will fail - but that' sjust to rally their base and get donations.

I mean, 46 abortion bills, the GOP knew they'd all die in teh Senate/POTUS.  But they just keep on entering them.  So they can say "Look, Mr. Smith, I TRIED to stop abortion.  46 times.  Both those Dem Senators..."

THis is all just posturing.  No gun rights will change.

Im not trying to spin this, he has talked out both sides of his mouth.

and as I have said it was a mistake he has not endorsed this...Im not opposed to owning up to my mistakes. I know that quality is rare around here with all the deflection and spin but dont confuse me with those shit heads please.

first of quit with the moral equivilency bull shit, funny how you never draw those comparisons when you condemn the reps for not focusing on the issues ::)

2nd this bill might actually have some backing if it didnt go so far as to basically ban all online/mail order sales of ammo.

I appologize if I came across as attacking you that wasnt my intention, I am geniuenly curious where you read he was unlikely to support this though.

I felt my question was just as valid as yours, you asked me to validate my assertion and I did the same to you.

No... both are equally important rights in this great nation and neither should be infringed in ANY way.

It's been mentioned in quite a few things I've read or watched.  Even the article posted by 3333 in the first post touches on it.

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said last week that he does not intend to bring gun control legislation to the floor and President Obama has been reluctant to press lawmakers to act on the issue in an election year."

No, you don't have to show id for ammo....you can in fact buy tons of it online without any identification you jackass.

Funny thing is that there's never been anyone killed from voting....except of course from the people that were surpressing the vote..... ::)

And when was the last time a gun or a bullet went out on its own and killed someone? This is what I'm talking about, penalize the law abiding citizen as knee jerk reaction, when in reality a gun is a tool.

Share on emailShare on facebook More Sharing ServicesMore  Print A hammer-wielding madman — dressed in a suit and tie — bashed in the skull of a Spanish tourist who was sitting quietly with his wife on a bench in City Hall Park yesterday, police sources said.

Witnesses said the crazed man looked normal — until he walked up to Hugo Alejandro, 31, of Barcelona and cracked him repeatedly in the temple with the hammer’s claw end — just one inch above his left eye.

Before striking him, the wacko screamed out profanities, calling his victim a “Nazi motherf- - ker’’ and shouted out his views on President Obama and former President Bill Clinton.

Alejandro was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a fractured skull shortly after 3 p.m. He was listed in stable condition last night.

His alleged attacker was identified as John Charles Yoos, 43, from Flatlands, Brooklyn, according to sources.

A group of good Samaritans held Yoos until others pointed out the violent suspect to an off-duty NYPD officer who was working a security job at a bank across the street.

The cop held him until reinforcements arrived at the scene. Cops said they also found a knife in his jacket pocket.

He was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and weapons possession.

I suppose you could pry off the tip of lead and empty all of the gun powder into a big box and turn it into a bomb.

Should only take you 3-4 years to make something that could actually blow up more than a finger.

You can't tie a fuse to a few sacks of fertilizer so no.  If you even search for "fertilizer to make bombs" online, the FBI will know about it very quickly.

Vince, do you feel that the FBI is going to come find you because you type "fertilizer to make bombs"?

I don't think that's a very valid assumption.

Lots of people search on how to do it... They just don't do it.
