Congratulations, you are a retard.
-
Walmart has blu ray and DVD combo for 18 bucks. That's probably the best bet so one can keep a DVD at home and take the blu ray with them for viewing after a long g4p sesh.
-
Congratulations, you are a retard.
I have suspected that might be the case for some time now. This confirmation has really brought me down. I don't think I'll even lift tomorrow.
-
Congratulations, you are a retard.
Hey, we can't all watch triumph of will on a 24 hour loop.
-
Taking a big dump and then goin to pick up my copy. If the bluray isn't awesome it'll be the bane of my day.
-
Dark Knight Rising was entertaining but had quite a few flaws in the story..I was disappointed in the laziness of the writer

The new MAN OF STEEL movie Poster
(http://l.yimg.com/os/251/2012/12/03/manofsteel-newposter1024-jpg_204011.jpg)
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/man-steel-poster-puts-superman-chains-204521511.html (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/man-steel-poster-puts-superman-chains-204521511.html)
Superman is under arrest!
In anticipation of tomorrow's home video release of "The Dark Knight Rises," the new poster for next summer's highly anticipated "Man of Steel" has been unveiled, revealing a Superman (Henry Cavill) in handcuffs as several military-types stoically escort him to some unknown destination.
Details on the plot of Warner Bros.' (latest) attempt to reboot one of their most lucrative franchises have been kept under wraps, though this new image looks like it reveals at least one major conflict in the new adventures of the Last Son of Krypton. The poster seems to indicate that he'll be taking the fall for some sort of crime, one for which he may or may not be directly responsible. Superman looks to be standing tall, which would indicate he hasn't been weakened by Kryptonite. So has the Big Blue Boy Scout willingly turned himself in to the authorities?
(Our guess is that he's either framed for some horrible act or opts to take the fall for it, "Dark Knight" style. Superheroes find themselves in both scenarios rather often, after all.)
[Related: 'Man of Steel' takes off Superman's underpants]
The final flourish keeps the poster in sync with Zack Snyder's seemingly art-film aspirations for the project that were revealed in the Terrence Malick-esque teaser trailer, as the prisoner is backlit by fractured, Janusz Kaminiski-like illumination coming from a doorway.
It's a grim image, though not an unexpected one, as we've known for some time that "Man of Steel" would be taking a (sigh) "darker" approach to the story of Superman, emphasizing the "stranger in a strange land" elements of what is essentially the tale of an alien who takes on the seemingly insurmountable task of protecting a world that's not his own. Kal-el's sense of isolation from the people of Earth is really being explored here, as well as our knack for attempting to destroy (or at least incarcerate) things we don't understand.
We like it. Though we'd also like it if the next poster features Superman punching something ... or someone, like General Zod (Michael Shannon). Let's not forget the fun in all this, Mr. Snyder.
[Related: 'Star Trek Into Darkness' poster is familiar-looking]
"Man of Steel" opens June 14, 2013, with a second trailer set to be attached to prints of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," opening December 14.

Why DL a DVD 9 when you can DL a bluray copy?
-
will rent it from Redbox, probably only ever watch once before Spike TV or FX play it every day for the next 5 eyars

yeah but once you've converted it to burn on a disc.. is it really any better than a untouched dvd ?

This
was just a little "too much" of everything, except a really good story..as usual in a third movie.
pretty good movie..not great like the first two
probably watch it again in a few months, let it sit for a while
-

Yes....in my opinion.

The difference is like night and day.
Download movies and throw them onto an external hard drive. Damn near every BluRay player has a USB port that you can plug it into. I use DLNA and send movies from my computer to my TV, but when I want to do things quick and easily I just hook up the hard drive to my BluRay player and that's it!
No idea why anyone would burn a DVD or anything like that. Takes way too long. Drag and drop the untouched movie file, then plug hard drive in. Boom.

yes true, but i'm talking about hd rips that have been compressed by the ripper then compressed again to fit on a disc.

Will still be better than a dvd

Saw it in the theatre and thought it sucked. Not really certain I want to spend even more money on it but it would "complete" the collection. It's kinda like I already have the first three Indiana Jones films, even the sucky second one. Do I really want to buy the one where he goes to the Chrystal Cathedral?
I will have to think about this one.

You should look into the WD TV Live media hub. I use that + WD My Book Essential (3tB ea) and just rip the movie from blu-ray (m2ts file). PHENOMENAL. I have a shit ton of movies. I use the online blockbuster thing and AnyDVD to do so. The WD TV live thing will also stream movies form computer with less than 1ms latency. So, for this Dark Knight I downloaded the blu-ray 720p rip from ViSION and its awesome.
Sample screen shot:

The WD TVLive Media Hub (about 1/3 the size of a DVD player)
I have 2 of these now, but this is the WD My Book

Ripping a Blu-Ray exactly is about 20 - 40Gb. I use other tools for when there is subtitles. Freebie ones that are awesome

Technically the events depicted in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom took place before Raiders.

-
way too much work, just download the bluray with bintube and play it while it DL's?
even on my Big Ass TV I cant tell much difference between a well compressed BR and a 40gig uncompressed version
-
Real getbiggers just have Christian Bale come over to their homes and watch the live action version
-
i hear James Holmes ordered his copy online, he missed half the movie and wanted to see how it ended

just 47" Dont need bigger TBH
The WD TV Hub is one of the best purchases I have ever made. $150. It is also a 1TB storage drive.
As far as Bin tube goes...I pay $19.99 for my blockbuster thing...and I get a lot of use out of it. I get my stuff through the mail, then can exchange for no charge in the store other blurays.
As of now 300+ blurays

that's plenty big enough.. the picture doesn't really reflect the size though why i thought it looked smaller than it is.
i don't think i could go below 40" ever again.. :P
funny cos on the avsforum, i'm reading people with 100+ inch screens (properly calibrated of course), whining about the switching aspect ratio on the 'the dark knight rises' blu ::)

oh its a great forum alright, and invaluable for getting settings for your setup.. but they get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy bogged down in the minute details.. 'halos, ringing, artifacts, edge enhancement', i swear those fuckers must watch their films through powerful binoculars !
