Title: you really learn what your body needs when you stop yourself from sitting down
Post by: Marty Champions on December 09, 2012, 01:42:53 PM
to take a rest

latley at work i avoid all lunch breaks, but i snack more standing up and getting work done, stuff a huge amount of food in and chew will working

its hard to resist sitting down because legs get fatigued from all that standing and squating down to do manual labor

but you really learn about yourself and what your body needs if you have a variety of food in your cooler at work to eat in order to avoid having to sit down to regenerate.

You should be able to regenerate while standing up and eating, just think about the variety of food, you have to experiement

to me this is what bodybuilding is all about, being energetic, recovery, functionable as possible,....the looks and refinement come later once youve masterd standing and eating without rest at work. this ties into your workouts when you get home or at the gym

having to sit around on a bench means you need to eat something, your body is fatigued, it needs recovery from nutrients and water

if you could go to the gym and eat there while never having to sit down going through your workout routine, then my friend you are becoming superior

always take the stairs because your saving the environment not having to use the electric elevator, so not only is that good karma but more of a workout

no i also worked out

no peds no glory

ill give you  answers

1. law of thermodynamics dont lie perhaps those years of doing that moving around alot set you up for your body now, that is now that you lift, the activity and assimilation of calories primed your muscles blood and organs with enough nutrition

many make the mistake of 100 percent dismissing there past and say  i made no progress in my past, when reality they made progress in some ways unknown. The unknown factor isnt always seen plain as day

the past matters its what you do with the future that really counts, if you continued on moving alot doing tasks, then you add working out to it something has to give in

your appetite will increas

your muscles has to get bigger cause your doing more and eating more becoming heavier

Title: Re: you really learn what your body needs when you stop yourself from sitting down

the reason why you beleive you had a failed past is also because you didnt do enough, you didnt push the limit of what you were capable of

the only time you really make the "choice" to grow is not taking that break or sit down time (only when its time for bed or time when you dont give a fuck and want to chill with a hoe)

any time you resist that break and eat more, you are going into uncharted territory because normally your body is used to resting when the body is signaling it needs a rest

nothing wrong with that, they seem to have the workout coverd, the only way to continue to gain is to do more

more=whatever it may be , the little things add up. like not sitting down on a bench after a set, but truly DISCOVERING what you need to consume right then and there TO CONTINUE TO STAND

Falcon, you are correct.

Sitting will actually increase the chances greatly for colon cancer.  Colon Cancer is nearly 100 percent preventable as long as one is not obese and one is physically active and does strenuous exercise.

Daily exercise 'increases life'
Sedentary lifestyle can kill
Sitting for long periods increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease and death, researchers suggest.

The scientists from Leicester and Loughborough Universities say harm is done even if people also exercise.

The study, published in Diabetologia, analysed 18 existing studies involving almost 800,000 people.

Diabetes UK said anyone who spent a lot of time sitting or lying down would "obviously benefit" from moving more.

The researchers say the opportunities for sedentary behaviour in modern society such as watching TV, sitting in a car or using a computer are "ubiquitous".

Of course, in modern society many people head to the gym for a burst of exercise to redress the balance.

But the research team, led by Dr Emma Wilmot from the Diabetes Group at the University of Leicester, says while going to the gym or pool after work is better than heading straight for the sofa, spending a long time sitting down remains bad for you.

Healthy lifestyle?
Each of the studies they assessed used different measures - for example more or less than 14 hours a week watching TV, or self-reported sitting time of less than three hours a day to more than eight.

The researchers say this means it is not possible to give an absolute limit for how much sedentary time is bad for you.

But Dr Emma Wilmot, who led the study, said it was clear that those who sat the most had a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease and death than those who sat the least.

We can have standing meetings, we can walk during the lunch break, and we can look to reduce TV viewing in the evenings by seeking out less sedentary behaviours”

Prof Stuart Biddle,
Loughborough University
She said: "If a worker sits at their desk all day then goes to the gym, while their colleague heads home to watch TV, then the gym-goer will have better health outcomes.

"But there is still a health risk because of the amount of sitting they do.

"Comparatively, the risk for a waiter who is on their feet all day is going to be a lot lower."

She added: "People convince themselves they are living a healthy lifestyle, doing their 30 minutes of exercise a day.

"But they need to think about the other 23.5 hours."

'Easy change'
The strongest associations in the analysis were between prolonged sitting and diabetes.

There is evidence that being sedentary negatively affects glucose levels and increases insulin resistance - but scientists do not yet know how.

Dr Wilmot said the study's message could help those at high risk of diabetes, such as obese people or those of South Asian ethnic origin, because it was an easy lifestyle change to make.

Prof Stuart Biddle, of Loughborough University, who also worked on the study, said: "There are many ways we can reduce our sitting time, such as breaking up long periods at the computer at work by placing our laptop on a filing cabinet.

"We can have standing meetings, we can walk during the lunch break, and we can look to reduce TV viewing in the evenings by seeking out less sedentary behaviours."

Dr Matthew Hobbs, head of research at Diabetes UK, said people should not be discouraged from exercising.

He added: "What is clear is that anyone who spends lots of time sitting or lying down would benefit from replacing some of that time by standing or walking.

"Aside from any direct effect reducing the amount of time you spend sitting down may have, getting more physical activity is a great way of helping maintain a healthy weight, which is the best way of minimising your risk of Type 2 diabetes."

to really progress in multiplicital ways , avoid that rest and craving to sit down on a bench after a set of standing militarys or bent over rows, you will discover what it truly takes for your body to consume or what foods you lack to continue your normal workout without having to sitdown ever during the workout

Awesome Falcan post as usual.

I recently switched to a stand up station at work to cop with my back issues. I have to say it really help preventing inflammation from settling in. I sometimes get a little tired; I'l usually work around a  little and I replenish. My though process is better, easier more focused and more alert.

I also noticed my digestion is much better, I don't gassy like I used, especially after a big lunch.

you work in software right?

if one has a desk job, how does one remain standing all day?  raise the desk? wall mounted monitor?  please speak on this, anyone who can.

you need stuff high in phosphurus

go for beans , and those mixed nuts the ones that got pumpkin seeds and peanuts

i eat tons of seeds and nuts bro

beans are LOADED with phosphorus

also eat whatever you crave

one of the key ways you get power from meat is its phosphorus content

also you need a systamic way of statisticaficationing your progress

i use  only a handfull of exercises , i keep the weight the same (for now) and just try to increase the reps

dont expect to progress every fuckin day or every fuckin week  ::)

the key here is to find out your average ability

then try to increase from there by consuming more and different foods especially ones high in phosphorus

remember grape juice for the evening and at night along with your meals , the grape juice will make you sleep like a rock

the key is to have something with phosphorus about every meal

morning have plenty of oats

day time lots of nuts

evening beans

milk and cookies

night have grapejuice to sleep, no phosphorus

i also like buttermilk buiscuits either in the morning or evening but they dont really have any phosphorus. same goes for cookies but i just like them, still you want high dosages of phosperus from foods not pill form of course

Personally, I prefer to celebrate my meal by relaxing while I eat. Generally this means sitting down to eat at a table. Eating on the go and not thinking about what or how much you eat has been linked to obesity. A meal should take approximately 20 minutes to consume. My guess is that when you eat standing up and working you eat too fast and eat too much.

The philosphical meandering fo getbig inspire me.

What if we had trains linking all cities?  Operated by for profit providers?

What if you did 1000 pushups and 100 40 yard sprints once per week?

What if you ate nothing but microwaved potatoes?

What if the workweek was 20 hours?

What if instead of a generalized education, each person learned 1 thing very very well for 10 years of pre college schooling?

What if atomic power made oil unneccessary?  And hydrogen fuel cells ran cars with water as by product?

What if there were no stop signs at all on any roads?  And they were replaced with single lane rotaries?

What if income, payroll, and capital gains tax was replaced with rent tax?

What if any felony resulted in cutting off of left arm at elbow?

What if movies were taxed 5000%?

What if rap music was taxes 10,000%?

What if women were taxed for single moms?

What if import taxes were raised on good from china, japan, india, europe  5000%? and social security was completely funded by import taxes?

What if all olympic events were replaced with power evens like 100 pound beanbag carry sprint and weighted monkeybar race with half mile distance?

What if movies only featured women with big boobs?

What if law firms were taxed to fund engineering research?

What if lawyers were replaced with software?

What if al meat creation was repalced with potato farms?
