today i did a moderate chest session not heavy
what i did was
bench press
3 warm up sets with 135 - 20 reps
my working sets were
135 - 5 reps partner puts a plate on straight away 225 - 5 reps, partner puts a plate on straight away 315 - 5 reps
did that on all excersises
this method has given me good gains and gives a deep pump
and is hard as hell
tomorrow Ill do this with legs too

Yes but 5 reps and its racked the plates on them straight off
I use it for other body parts and it gives good gains
I call them UP SETS ... Works for me

6 plates 5 reps - 7 plates 5 reps 8 pate 5 reps.. (15 rep total) thats one set its like a drop set but instead working up in weight no rest just time for partner to put on the weights

nothing like my white brothers...
yes the calf is high inserted but my leg in entirety definetly arent bird legs.. just lag behind my upper body which grows super fast
if i had to chose id prefer it that way than vice verca..

For the legs id warm up all the way to 315 start my "UP sets". Seems dangerous to jump plates like that, atleast for me who's a sub-405lb squatter.

For the legs id warm up all the way to 315 start my "UP sets". Seems dangerous to jump plates like that, atleast for me who's a sub-405lb squatter.
That's why I did leg presses first so that my knees are warm also 10 mins on the stationary bike

I see. Its about the lower back also. I know that if I jumped poundage like that I would atleast have difficulty during the set, if not at worst hurt my back. But if you don't have trouble i guess its fine. Ive seen some freaks who can get away with minimal warmup. Saw a guy once, probably 5' 7" ~175 lbs who during a casual conversation with no warm up got under a bar with 3 plates and did a full squat smoothly with no trouble. My fucking jaw dropped seeing that in person :o
I find that in general i need a lot of warmups for benchpressing and squatting.

i usually squat 135 warmup x1,,then 225/275/315/usually 365 then 405 ,,i jumped 315/405/465x4 and i was a bit off for few days lower back/hips,,wanted to push past 405 do not do it often 405 i feel is plenty for me,,ego trained this time.
