i tend to agree. you can be made to write a report and take a side that you don't necessarily agree with for the sake of the assignment. just like a debate team practicing. "you guys are pro. you guys are con. Go."

Judging from the article that was posted, it sounds like that might be the case:
Harvey's son attends Cedar Hills Elementary in Jacksonville, Fla. Back in January, a local attorney came in to teach the students about the Bill of Rights. But after the attorney left, fourth-grade teacher Cheryl Sabb dictated the sentence to part of the class and had them copy it down, he said.
Wonder if the other part of the class had a slightly differing assignment? ::) This sounds like one of those stories that becomes less outrageous when more facts emerge.

Well, the Blaze is a pretty biased site and chopped the quotes up pretty good, so if you go to the First Coast news site that they took this story from, you see that the school board is not referring to the assignment, but to the lesson involving a guest speaker that took place. The paper is the possibly problematic "follow up activity."

We were given assignments like that in high school and college, but this little kid is in fourth grade. I think this caliber of debate is a bit beyond their scope.

Only way to conclusive prove that is to post a pic of your drivers license alongside the diplomas as well so that Al can see the name on the diplomas and DL match. Screen names don't mean shit. I can go down the hall and pull Jerry's diploma off his wall, take a pic of my holding my screen name with it. But does that make me a cardiologist? Does that mean I have earned that and have license to practice medicine? Nope. Just means I still have a MHA and am borrowing another diploma to pass off as my own.

to support your claim that liberals should just accept that homosexuality isn't normal you post a video featuring a lesbian from a lib/les organization making a scientific case that there isn't a "normal"
sexual orientation? Typical you.
But, let's put that aside. You made the claim that gay is more than two standard deviations from the mean. So, do you understand that when you make that claim, it means that the mean becomes SMALLER? If we're going to go by the link you posted, gay men and women make up about 10% of the population. If
we're going to go by your claim, men and women who are not straight make up AT LEAST another 20%. So, already, that's at least 30% of the population that isn't heterosexual.
However, one of the points of the video that YOU posted to support your argument is that these numbers drastically change when your questions become more specific. So. the mean number becomes even SMALLER.
Finally- and this is probably too complicated a concept for you- but the reason the bell graph was set up that way was specifically to make her point. The center stat said "heterosexual" while one end said "gay" and the other said "lesbian"? If gay men and lesbians are distinct, why aren't straight men and women. Because the author of the chart is trying to make a point about sexuality! She'd never chart that data that way for a an actual scientific paper. It would make no sense.
So, basically, dummy, you don't know what you're talking about.
