Hey Musclecenter,
Could you outline your most difficult workout routine- exercises, reps, sets, rest times, days working out.
I want to give it a go. I am ready for your instruction, master of muscles.

Same! I believe I've asked him before!
Let`s bug him until he gives us the secret to his routine.
I know its high volume-25-40 sets per body part or something of that nature. I`d like to know how he breaks it down and rest times and such.
Musclecenter, you must give us the secrets.

x2
I'll stay on top of him! I really hope his book gets translated to English. He's 60 something and looks better than 90% of getbiggers.

Asked & answered. There is no rest. None. The entire workout is one continuous set.
-
i thought i saw his post once that he did 30-40 sets of chest no rest?
high volume type of training
-
I wouldn't expect him to give it out for free, considering he makes part of living off of his bodybuilding book. Perhaps there is an Engrish translation somewhere?

Not yet, I recently asked him in his thread. :(

What is his philosophy in designing a workout? Volume? Intensity? Weight?

I don`t know which is precisely why we have to find out.

He said last week that he trains the the same bodyparts 2x/week

I did my first "MuscleCenter" style workout and I love it. While we were barbecuing 10 lbs of Pork Shoulder, I did 36 sets for Back and 19 sets for Shoulder and it didn`t really take that long at all. Same time as a normal workout.
I did Bent-Over-Rows immediately followed by Lat Pulldowns in a 9 set rotation (18 sets) with ZERO rest. Just keep going back and forth. Then I did Close Grip Pulldowns and One Arm Dumbell Rows in the same manner-9 Set rotation (18 sets) no rest.
Then on to Shoulders- Arnold Dumbell Press and Upright Rows on Cable with Tricep Rope- in a 9 set rotation (18 sets) No rest.
Best workout I have done in a LONG time. Of course you have to drop the weight a bit and I was shooting for 10-15 reps on each set. Its brutal and you get a great feel for the muscle being worked. I think training like this may be optimal.
I will do Chest and Arms tonight.

Good luck with that Adam. I'm a little surprised you'd thrive on this for long since I had you pegged as a predominantly faster-twitch fella. I mean, remember how you were talking about how you could bench like 300x5 but would struggle like hell to do 245x12? (Or something like that. I usually have a good memory for numbers, especially when it comes to my fellow North Carolina bros like you and Johnny.)
Then again, there are a lot of ways to achieve similar ends in the iron game. When you think about it, set and rep parameters can be a fairly silly metric; the only really good thing about them's that, so long as your numbers improve in, and we can keep track of, them in a 5x5 scheme, 30 set/bodypart routine or one all-out set with rest-pauses, statics and shit, we at least know we're on the right track.

I think Arm length is the culprit here and not necessarily fast or slow twitch. As you know, I have unusually long arms and by default its A LOT of work just to perform one full rep fully extended versus if my arms were shorter. As a result, the lower reps for me are less work than fully extended high reps.

with all that time spent in the gym, when does Musclecenter find time to dye his hair

The workouts don`t really take any longer than usual. More intense for sure, but not really that much longer.

Johnny, I incorporate some of Plitt`s stuff too. I actually have been using C-Blocks for a few years for various different things. You can come up with a lot of stuff and this may give you some ideas.

Chest- 36 sets total- 9 set rotations of Dumbell Press and Dumbell Flyes and 9 set rotations of Dumbell Incline and Cable Cross overs.
Triceps-18 sets total- 9 set rotations of Close Grip Bench and Tricep Rope Pushdowns.
No rest between sets.
Epic Pulled Pork Sandwiches will be needed for recovery.

I would love to have a heme-iron induced death by a nice, juicy pork shoulder like that.

I always follow such as Arnold, Albert Beckles.....old-timers high-volumes work-out.
and training EVERY muscle-group TWO-times per week.
(abs 4-5 times)

So you train in old school kind of way? Have you ever tried any HIT-type of training and what was the outcome of that if you have? Few sets, heavy loads, loads of perfect reps, special techniques like super sets, drop sets, slow negatives, giant sets?
