Been downhill ever since.
All these lil waynes and jons and leroys and jamal wannabees.

great album

Do you know how much money Dre made with Beats headphones???
-
i have to agree with you. Rappers used to pride themselves in intensity and ambition. Now it's all about who is the biggest fckup.
also the image they sold back then cannot be done today. We see these guys tweeting and sharing and realize they're normal idiots like everyone else. Back then, rap (like most styles of music) could markets its stars as living some aloof, amazing lifestyle. Now we see them tweeting as they take shits.
-
The best rap album ever.
-
I'm going to have to agree. I wonder if rap is slowly dying out. It is to me.
And Dre was good but I am going to have to say that Snoop Dog is master.

As far as rao goes, I really don't listen to it.

The best rap album ever.
Yep! DR Dre's "The Chronic" Album changed the whole rap game! It introduced one of raps best ever Snoop Dogg and slowed rap down into the chill smoking weed era instead of the fast paced crack rap era. The chronic was just a chill album you could relax too and just "just chill to the next episode"
-
This has to be tied with Dr. Dre's "The Chronic " album! Snoop Doggs first album Doggystyle was the most anticipated rap album I can remember .Between Dr.Dre's "The Chronic" album and snoop dogg's Doggystyle that was the best 28$ I ever spent. just 2 CD's full of cutts! I love fuck wit Dre Day! where Dre disses on Eazy E! Eazy got him back with " Real Muthafuckin G's" but "fuck wit dre day " was way better -IMO the beat was chill and snoop dogg rips 2 fat versus! One of the best rap lines by snoop on that song" well heres a little Jimmy joke about your momma that you might not like, I heard she was a Frisco Dyke" I love Eazy as well but Dre and Snoop were on a diffrent level. I wish Snoop didn't pump out some of the garbage he did after his first few albums. I don't think Dre or snoop were ever studio gansters. Snoop did time for selling crack and his bodygaurd did kill somebody flashing gang signs and a gun at him. Dre did plenty of time in jail for diffrent shit that is why Eazy E got him to work for basically nothing, they were favors for Eazy constantly bailing Dre out. At one time Eazy and Dre really were best friends! Money tore them apart! But when eazy got sick everything was forgotten. Dre loved Eazy at heart, vice versa.

-
1. Chronic
2001, and a eminem's first 2 albums were also great, aswell as some ruff ryders and DMX's early albums.
Since then, absolute gayness.
-
Rap music was invented to launder money.
-
1. The Chronic
2. Tupac
3. Big Poppa
-
Best SONG EVER!
-
Wu-Tang Forever (double album) is where it peaks for me. They had a message, and diverse lyrics.

Lots of youngins in this thread.
Those that know good rap will go back a decade to Public Enemy and Run DMC. Now that was music

Dude that song made chicks wet in an instant. We'd be alone and I'd put this on and it was instant sex. I smashed so many chicks to it.
I remember this was when LL was off the scene for a while, took a few cycles and appeared shirtless and he was talking about his clean eating and hard workouts. lol

8)Bringing in some hoes.

PARIS--the devil made me do it, 8)

Do you know how much money Dre made with Beats headphones???

-
No one makes lyrics like this anymore, wtf, how do these guys come up with this shit, this song is insane.
-
I have seen pretty much every big rap artist/group and honestly the best concert I saw was when Chef Raekwon came to Portland right after he dropped immobularity and just dropped the livest show you ever saw! He let us have it raw! That was the best live performance I have ever seen and like I said I have seen almost all of the best! It was a small 2,000 person crowd and we all got our money's worth plus much more!
-
I'm happy to see there aren't a bunch of 20 year old getbiggers jumping in saying Little Wayne is the greatest rapper, etc.
Seems even the younger music fans often realize the transparency and weakness of today's music. It's probably the same with rock... nobody jumping around to say the 2012 rock music scene was just so incredible. It's rehashed garbage, trying to match pearl jam, aero, etc.
-
I'm going to have to say best rap album for me was always Liquid Swords by GZA. Not a bad track on there. Also The Swarm by the Wu-Tang Killa Bees a close second.

Lil Wayne sucks.

interesting thing about that song was that the woman who rapped in that wasnt the same in the vid. The real chick was a "big" or thick girl, and didnt fit the image that LL/and the director wanted for that vid.
I have to say, hip hop died, when everybody started that "Sing Rapping", which pretty much started with Nelly.
Wu, kept the lyricism, and Dre had that slick production.
One could even say that Dre helped with the demise of hip-hop by his very slick production. Hip Hop lost its "street" value, and became more corporate---urban corporate if you will.

No, "Nas" Illmatic, definately a great album 8)
-
The best rap album ever.

:D

That's rap.
Right up there with biggie and pac!
-
correction, it died in 2001. "rap" has been hijacked by probably the cia, to be used to influence young minorities.

Liquid Swords is one of the best regardless of genre

Agreed no need to argue/ Best Rap CD of all time. This CD changed the whole rap game. This CD never gets old to me! Dr. Dre has nothing more to prove to me! he dropped the best rap album of all time and Dre knows it!
-
Ok I'll be the first to catch hell, but you can't make a best rapper list without Jay-Z. I know he borrows a line here or there, but he's been consistently at the top for like 15 years now.
Resonable Doubt was amazing
Vol. 1 not so much
Vol. 2 was great
Vol. 3 was just as good
The Dynasty Roc-la-familia was great
The Blueprint was a game changer...hit after hit
Best of Both Worlds was cool as hell
Blueprint 2 was a big drop off...couple decent tracks
Black Album was almost as good as The Blueprint
and Blueprint 3 was epic as well.
I know I left out a few that werent so hot....but how can you deny anyone who's put THAT much quality out there. Most artist struggle to put out one entire album thats hot...he does it every couple years.
Also, I was at his first concert after 9/11 and he just walked out on stage with a mic...no hype or anything and just started freestyling about what had happened for what felt like 10 minutes....I wish I could go back in time, buy a camcorder, and video it...I had chills

The future of rap? Kendrick Lamar
[/youtube]
-
The greatest era of rap was from about '94 to '2000 (give or take a year on both ends) Now it almost complete shit. I just listen for the occasional hot "club track" the talent pool is god awful now.

rap aka hiphop, higher infinite power healing our people, and giving a voice to the voiceless died in 1990, with the rise of the group public enemy which had a strong message in their lyrics, in 1989 the jewish men of the illuminati who controlled the music business, solely formed the rap group N.W.A. to stabilize and neutralize the messages and power of the rap group public enemy and shift the whole paradigm of the music industry to become centered around mindless nonsensical garbage...........heres the link.........

heres the whole interview where he reveals the reasons for the formation of NWA and the reasons why
