Why do people think fat builders are well built or "stocky"?from another forum
"Since I started fin I have gained 60lbs of muscle(went from 140lbs to 200). As a note however, I also became a heavy lifting construction worker and I got married so I eat a lot more (wife cooks meals). I am actually fairly toned now as opposed to the smallest(skinny wise) guy I know from before.
Not saying its all fin, but it at the very least didn't hurt."
-
Sounds like he just got fat.
I always lose weight despite eating more when i return to work after our winter quiet period.
Truly hard construction work makes weight gain near impossible.
-
Fat builders lack of willpower is sickening.
-
My cousin is fat and tried his hand at being a builder and have actually worked a few jobs with him and he always had an afternoon nap in a wheelbarrow.
-
Haha, sure gained.
And I learned to run 100m in under 10 secs from working as courier during my teen years.

what's his bench?
-
With all that jacking off, my dick should be 7 inches longer.
-
Are you Cswol's brother by any chance?
-
was he like 17-18 years old when he started?
ive had this discussion, males often gain a lot of weight (even muscle) from late teens to early twenties without doing much, and make great gains with consistent workouts, even if they do everything 'wrong'. some skinny, underfed kid who starts exercising and actually eating enough can easily gain that weight, if they have the frame. this dude probably just had a normal growth spurt all males do. and saying he's 'fairly toned' lol. probably means he actually just filled in what was an emaciated frame. and obv he's probably a slob as well.

I'll say one thing about construction laborers. They are in general in good shape. Just think about their work life style. They are on their feet for 10 to 14 hours. Constantly bending and picking up stuff. Carrying things. Digging ditches. Walking the site. Tough guys in general.
Now lets look at the typical getbigger. Drives to work and once there sits on his ass. When not working he is sitting watching tv/computer or playing video games. He drives every where. Hardly walks at all. His only cardio is walking on a treadmill at a pace he doesn't realize is slower that what normal people walk down the street. He works out in the gym for an hour 4 times a week but his life is so non moving that even this can't make up for his modern non moving life of rest. Don't tell me intensity is enough to make the difference. That's why perma bulkers have become such a big percentage of guys into bodybuilding. They are just fat out of shape guys carrying some muscle underneath.

couldnt agree more. A very large percentage of men wouldnt last a day as a labourer to the heavier of building trade. People dont know what its like till they try it.
I have personally seen blokes quit by 10am on day one

These construction guys will regret their career choice once they hit 40+.
You can be perfectly healthy having a non physical sedentary job.
...and let me add, just because you work a physical job, does not mean you are healthy. Plenty smoke, stuff their face, do rec. drugs, and alcohol, not to mention the stress of having deadlines and pushing yourself physically on a regular basis can fuck with your health all on its own.
My neighbour was a healthy fella, played sports, was a mail man for many years walking was basically his job.
He quickly without warning signs, got a brain tumour and a heart attack and died soon after.
No guarantees in life, just try to enjoy it while you can.

Good for you! What line of construction are you in?
Worked on and off for many years on building and high rise construction sites, some of the best guys around are blue collar, tough old work with long hours but you can't beat the banter and practical jokes, I'll never forget the time we were laying pipe in Queensland out in the countryside, it was 6.00am and I went in to the portaloo for a dump, fucking excavator operator thought it would be cute to connect the portaloo to his Toyota Landcruiser and do doughnuts around the site with me still inside! ;D guy, I got him back a few days later by "accidentally" electrocuting him with the jeeper gun, fun times.
edit : sorry, misinterpreted, it's from another forum.

THis is where you're off base. A True GetBigger doesn't go to work. He lives in his mom's basement.

It's hilarious when a fat man has to hustle for a change. Pulling up his pants every 3rd step and jiggling all over the place. Maybe you should join a road crew, tubby.

Even though they're all go, keen as mustard, world's hardest worker to get the job. ::) Wish I had back the money I wasted on these assholes. Even more, wish I had back the time.
In all seriousness, never hire a man over 20% bf or under age 25. And never EVER a guy with a sob story about why he really needs the work.

Ive heard the same thing "best grafter in the world, work hard all day ect ect" then you get them on a job and they are fucking useless. Nothing more pathetic than watching a grown man struggling mightily to break the soil with a shovel and 20 minutes later his wheelbarrow is only quater full.
-
need pics.
-
:D ;D
-
Done manual work for years, humbling for sure. I need several grams of caffeine each day to keep going. It can feel like the best job or the worst job in the world but it's kept me lean mentally strong. couldn't imagine office work/sales etc. Hard graft makes you despise lazy/fat people :s
And forget Keto if your planning on construction work :P
-
since i got a desk job i dont have to each much anymore
it's great

that's what i'm guessing.
140 - 200. prob about 5'11 - 6'1. went from anorexic skinny to just filling out the frame.

as a construction worker, i agree with you more than the others. for every guy in decent shape from work, there are dozen with some combination of alcoholism, drug addiction, and injuries like a bad back, a shoulder they cant raise above chin level, bad knee, etc. many are either skinny tweakers or have a huge beer gut. lets not even get into how many have criminal records, or are straight up cheats and liars when it comes to the work they do or dealing with a client.

Bullshit
90% of construction workers look like absolute shit and they are in horrible shape ,they eat like shit and they drink like a fish .
50% work hard for 8-10 hs the other 50% are bunch of lazy fucks, I hope this helps .
-
agree with che,i worked on construction site with 1000ppl there.999 looked like shit.bc they eat like shit.
the other 1 was me
Same here , I'm the exception to the rule .
-
Of course the guy didn't put on 60 pounds of muscle, that's just laugh out loud absurd but the combination of developing into his early 20s, his already underweightI love how his current "handlers" have a new YouTube page for him. One that has him going out "in the community" and "partying" and "living the life." They're pushing him out there, exploiting him and recording him being a total moron and embarrassing himself for their gain.
Genova is not 100% mentally and he's getting used by these dudes.
PJ Braun and Singerman are wasting their money and time.
frame plus lifting heavy shit all day....I would say he might have put some size on his shoulders and arms and ended up looking "bigger" in a t shirt to Joe Asshole on the street but that's about it.
-
i worked with my grandpa and his mates labouring
even though they are 60 theses real men were working like horses
there that old they dont use drills there screwing by hand lol
technology has made man that feminine there dressing like women

all tacos and tecate

the workers drnik beer for breakfast.lol.
or even drink before work,or are still drunk from last night.
not even jokng.
haha good shape.
one fatso who worked on a little crane like thingy, dont know english word, he was too fucking lazy to get down from that to have his meals he ate his meals up there.
good shape is so myht, construction work is a killer and youre happy if youre not full invalid by age 40.
This, it's not hard to tell who's actually worked a real job and who hasn't by they're understanding of very simply biomechanics.
Your bodies ability to handle stress for 4 hours a week in a gym to an actual job isn't comparable. The human bodie is a fragile machine, if you don't know this you've never pushed yourself.
P.S. I may be fat, and can't bench shit, but I do have farmboy strenght. I'm usually stronger than most builder, and usually faster so piss off.
-
10 lbs of muscle gains with 40 lbs of fat gained usually counts as 50 pounds of muscle in the eyes of most.

and they are also very macho and studly men who cat call females on the street and can kick your ass at the drop of a hat, right?

Whats said is true there are a lot of fat slobbish out of shape builders those are usually those who work the easier trades and are lazy to top it all off.
Try to find an out of shape guy who labours to a groundworker.
My dad is 65 and still comes in and hand digs drives and patios with us and can still carry stacks of blocks for an entire shift.
Have met plenty of the other types metioned too. Guys who do indeed drink beer for breakfast and spend half the asleep.
Just depends on the trade and how much the bloke puts into it.
-
the body simply isnt made for such activities or the invalid cases wouldnt be happening.
and the job has fuck all to do with the fitness level of an individual.this is the most stupid sweeping generalisation i ever heard.
lol@ppl working some jobs and thinking that makes them some elite athletes.
This is spot on.
-
hard manual labor is TERRIBLE for the body
i know fellas who do this, they are so tight and over worked that they can literally tear a bicep when swatting a fly
-
This is spot on.
You are obese.
Shut the fuck up about work
-

ha ha you are the bitch. "the human body is fragile" thats little bitch talk. The human body was built for graft not to be sedantary.

I grew up in this industry. You can rely on what ppl say here:
- 99% alcoholics, the 1% who aren't are the black sheep nobody on the crew likes because they are "a fag" or some dumb shit
- all make good wage, all broke living pay to pay
- diner breakfast, fast food lunch, case of beer for dinner
- all think very highly of themselves
- all think they are the toughest guys in the world. talk about how they kicked some guy's ass on the weekend, when you know it's just bullshit
- 1 guy digs the hole, 4 others watch. never seen so many dog fuckers in my life

To say a man who can fill an 8 yard skip with concrete and earth he dug out the ground ( big difference) before dinnertime then do the same again in the afternoon is absurd.
No he couldnt run a marathon but he will be far fitter and stronger than those with sedantary jobs.
