Title: Calling out "the Trainer" (haha, oh brother)
Post by: Coach is Back! on June 21, 2013, 12:16:09 PM
"i agree they would lose their gas money wasting time going over there.

Okay, bigmouth. How about this. You and your multiple gimmicks over at my place for a training session, on me on a Saturday. Chaos, Cswol and myself or anyone of us against you. It will be a test of strength and power in compound movements, strongman then conditioning. You should have the advantage over me since I'm almost 51 and admittedly my conditioning (lung capacity) sucks at the moment.

You have a big mouth little man, talk a big game behind a computer under multiple gimmicks and talk shit. Personally I think you're a pussy for hiding, but here's a chance to put your money where your big mouth is. I will be happy to provide a small camera crew to professionally film this, either way, win or lose I will post it for all to see.

How do I get in on this? I will take on the so-called 'coach' in the bench, squat, and deadlift, and after I'm done ruining him with the iron if he still wants to get mouthy we can lace up the boxing gloves and I will GLADLY knock his wrinkled ass into next century. BRING IT THE F*CK ON!!

coach would never allow that

goddamn liberal media would focus on him being hilariously short instead of "owning" the trainer

Well coach i had a busy day today training clients for real not just taking their money, now old man i want you to think carefully about this because although i think you suck as a coach i dont want to see you hurt yourself to prove a point so take deep breath and think for a bit and let me know what you want to do.

I never try to reinvent the wheel i take all the best knowledge from the last 50 years of training and nutrition and put it together to create the ultimate program, if you should try my principles on yourself you would have the body of a 30 year old like some of my clients.

I do one set of 15-20 reps on ten different exercises, three times a week.  If the gym isn't busy it takes me maybe half an hour tops.  I look and feel better than I ever have.

Granted I was never a "big" guy to begin with.

This is a very typical first post from someone has been challenged, here.

I call it a continuation bet - in that they're not yet ready to admit that they won't be accepting the challenge - so they stall for a bit of time with a useless nonsense.

Brilliant stuff, really..(in theory).

Tends to look absolutely weak when the dude isn't talking about a fight, though ::)  Just how much contemplation must occur before attempting to do a workout with someone ???

Training clients for real?  What the hell does that mean?  Did you mix it up by counting to 15 rather than 8?  Did you yell at them to "do one more, you have it in you"?  Did you spend about 20 - 30 mins of their time talking about inane shit rather than actually "training" them?  I would love to see you go up against Joe in this contest.  But, we both know you don't have the stones to follow through with it because you are probably going to be out buying a couple more polo shirts that are 1 - 2 sizes smaller than you should in order to make yourself look bigger.

I barely post on boards much less even spend time reading them, but this one just makes me shake my head more than most threads.  Let's get to the reality of the matter. I too am a trainer and a gym owner. I've been one for many, many years and have a full roster at all times, a waiting list, and 2 trainers who work for me. This isn't boast, just fact. Pay attention now and read on before you tell me you know more than me and have more money, bigger arms, had sex with some of my various family members, etc etc

The reality of the matter is I can't even take a long weekend with my family because of my workload. Ask any successful small businessman and you'll hear the same answer. What's my point? The point is obvious. If "the trainer" was such as hugely successful guy with boatloads of clients 2 things would happen. Firstly, he'd stop posting on the internet endlessly because there would be no time for such activity, and secondly, he could not and would not even think of taking a bozo challenge from a "Christian" keyboard warrior and spend even an hour of his time confronting this issue much less board a plane and get a room in order to combat some loudmouth (loud typing fingers) who feels so insecure about himself and his abilities in his chosen profession that he "calls out" others in his profession on an internet message board in order to prove himself a man personally and professionally.

I'm getting back to my work now but I'll be sure to check back in a few years when I can get a break from work.

1. I post on here 3,4 maybe 5 times per day. My posts are not long and elaborate like most. It take me probably and average 20-30sec to post. That's about 1.5min on here a day.

2. I haven't taken a full weeks vacation in over 10 years. If I get away for 4 days at a time, I'm happy. Every once in a while we will take our boat out and head to catalina for the day or spend a few days a year at our home in Palm Springs. Thanks for sharing tho.

3. If you don't have time research because all of the clients, when you have time to learn, go to seminars or conventions to keep up with your chosen trade? If you're not making time for that, you're not keeping up. I am glad you have a successful PT business. Seriously.

Not Ving Tsun.. Wong Schun Leung Lineage... i learned from a man who trained under him. There are Schools who use this System but they do not in Hong Kong. There are People such as Leung Ting who make Money in the US too with his Wing TZUN System...spread through Europe by Ronald R Kernsprecht...they use a System of rank...Money MAKING !!

yes i know some Schools do but in Hong Kong they do not use this. Depends on the style/School. Choy lay fut uses this here but traditionel Ving tsun uses no Sashes. The Best in Europe is philip Bayer in Germany. he has a web page. the man is the best.

Recapping..

go fuck yourself your comments are not needed in this thread stop running your mouth before i have to shut it up for you.

Tactic 2: Threaten anybody who sees through your bullshit

Are you fucking kidding me it would not be fair because i am juiced up to the gills and everybody would say i won because of my steroid stack so why waste my time.

Tactic 3: Declare win by default (bonus: point out something illegal, to legitimise the anonymity).

If the coach is willing to pay for fare hotel for one night `plus food and drinks i have no problem going to his gym to embarrass him.

Tactic 4: (Classic one) Require payment

Does the coach really practice kung fu hahahahah  now i really want to come to your gym so you can teach me to defend myself maybe you could teach some of these techniques.

Tactic 5: Now that you've established that you'd destroy them as long as they're willing to pay for it, make supporting statements as if you at ease with the prospect of meeting the challenge.

..

As opposed to (theoretical "Rocket" simulation of non gimmick)

I think you're a gimmick.  You might not be - I'll never know, but many gimmicks have fallen doing exactly what you're doing right now (which is not just say no, instead, over several days use some very common techniques of deferral).

(Whereas a "real" person such as myself hears Coach's challenge and just thinks "nah.  not interested").

When we do BB, its replaced with regular bench or board presses so our reps are kept within 1-3. With dumbbells, we use them as an auxiliary lift and reps are kept between 5-8.

i just started benching seriously a few weeks ago and my max (with a full 2 second pause at the chest) is a measly 235 @ a bodyweight of 156

so i'm curious, do you think that i can train bench heavy twice a week at this point in time?

i'm thinking that since i'm pretty damn weak right now that i can do so, but once i get my comp bench up to around 275 or so then i'd say that it's time for me to go to once a week heavy bench, so what's your thoughts on this? (and i plan on not going over 76 kg (167) or so in bodyweight, coz if i end up doing an IPF bench i wanna be able to make the 74 kg (163 pound) class)

i'm thinking that you follow westsides protocol of a max day on sunday and a speed day on weds, right?

i'm not a fan of "speed days" and i think that every day should be heavy

no i haven't and thanks for that article man :)

i never really understood this concept of "light-moderate" and/or "speed days" as it just seems nonsensical to not train hard

Blakely (the fella in that vid) is against "light days" as well

"There have been efforts over the years to alleviate this gym withdrawl by prescribing “light days” of exercise to help the gym addict make it to the next real training session. I generally disagree with this. If a workout is not of a sufficient level of intensity, it will not induce growth or strength gain. Going in and squatting a couple hundred pounds for a few sets and reps will in no way cause strength increase for a 650lb squatter. In my opinion it is senseless and cuts into recovery time if done too heavily."

Complex is used to refer to the level of components in a system. If a problem is complex, it means that it has many components. Complexity does not evoke difficulty.

On the other hand, complicated refers to a high level of difficulty. If a problem is complicated, there might be or might not be many parts but it will certainly take a lot of hard work to solve.

Also, Jeffrey, simply "lifting the bar, bring it down to your chest, then push it back up" so to speak is over simplifying and will give you as much result as the common gym rat (of which I think you are IMO) is expecting and receiving.  For those who want greater strength, there is so much more to it.

Bullshit, good coaches and trainers are paid to do three things, in order...design programs, implement programs and insure results, not count reps. You give credit when credit is do and be brutally honest with your client. If you're a trainer or coach that's a "yes man" time to find another job or career.
