IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) told BoxingScene.com that his dream fight is a showdown with the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). Mayweather challenges WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golovkin returned on Saturday night and destroyed Matthew Macklin in three short rounds, which he closed out with a wicked hook to the body.
Golovkin has said in the past that he's willing to drop down to 154-pounds to face Mayweather.
"This is my dream, this is my dream, this is a big present for me. This is business," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com.

No way Mayweather gets in the ring with this guy....

oh brother, a stiff technical euro boxer. ::) he's right up there with cuban :( pros. the FMW obnoxious clone would out point him. at 37-38 why would fmw fight a guy who isn't a guaranteed 1M plus PPV draw when Mexicans have a good North American following?

you must be blind, or blind to the devastating power of this white fighter, floyd wont touch him with a barge pole, sergio will retire before a fight could be made, ... he's got concrete blocks for hands, he hurts every fighter he goes in with
i rate him so highly i think he could move up or down and win the lot..
-
Mayweather will duck and dodge this kid.
Froch looks like Golovkin's next fight.
-
ggg is dangerous

im a big carl froch fan, he's got an amazing chin, but he's not beating this guy...
ward may have a chance if he fought him on home soil and ran from him all night, still think he'd catch him in the end
-
GGG should shoot for SAul Alvare after he gets destroyed on points by Mayweather. Austin Trout is a tall guy, 154 should be easy for him.
-
going for floyds leftovers wont prove anything, the guys 31, he need to get a move on to carve things up
-
Ward and Froch can beat Golovkin
-
Ward and Froch can beat Golovkin
Wouldn't froch have to drop some weight then?
Golovkin has some weird physical dimensions:
height 5′ 10½″ / 179cm
reach 73½″ / 187cm
-
Mayweather would try to shoulder roll on GGG and GGG would dislocate his shoulder with a punch ;D
-

Says the guy who thinks Pacquiao and Mayweather are ducking Andre Berto.

typical euro fighter very basic fighter
he fights fights one way just like tszyu
-
typical euro fighter very basic fighter
he fights fights one way just like tszyu
There's nothing typical about him. And Tszyu is a hall of fame fighter, so what's your point?
-
Lol Tszyu had no head movement and was robotic at times.
Couldn't fight on the inside too....he was decent.
GGG can fight on the inside, great at cutting off the ring, one punch KO power.
Different fighters.

He actually reminds me of a cross between Tszyu and Edwin Valero.
-
He's like old man Chavez with that body punching and relentless like him.

Hurrr....derp derp.
-

Hurrr....derp derp.
Tszyu hurt you from the end of his punches.
Ever see the Hatton fight? Hatton didn't give him room to set up his punches.
Mayweather beat Hatton on the inside, have to have that inside and outside game.
Guys like Tszyu, Kessler, Wlad, straight up euro fighters.....on the inside they can't fight.
-
Not a big enough draw for Money May. Floyd is going to retire soon now he is all about the paycheck
-
The Tszyu that fought Hatton wasn't in his prime either. Tszyu was a beast.
-
The Tszyu that fought Hatton wasn't in his prime either. Tszyu was a beast.
True but doesn't change the fact, he couldn't fight on the inside.
Remember Hatton was considered some euro hype job and Tszyu was gonna wreck him at the time.
-
I honestly clicked thinking GGG meant German Goo Girls
-
True but doesn't change the fact, he couldn't fight on the inside.

I still think Hatton was a hype job. But I get what you're saying. But to dismiss Tszyu as a average fighter is wrong.
-
Didn't say he was average, the comparisons came to GGG, who I think has more tools.
GGG doesn't fight straight up like those guys I pointed out, just cause he's Euro doesn't mean he's the same.
-
There's nothing typical about him. And Tszyu is a hall of fame fighter, so what's your point?
whats not typical about him fights like a euro with applied pressure
he cant fight backwards has no lateral movement just a mid range fighter like tszyu
tszyu is a HOF but that dont mean shit because he is a one way fighter
he walks in behind the jab with no head movement just like GGG
too many styles of boxing can defeat both there styles
-
tszyu is a HOF but that dont mean shit................
;D Get the fuck outta here.
-
True but doesn't change the fact, he couldn't fight on the inside.
Remember Hatton was considered some euro hype job and Tszyu was gonna wreck him at the time.
Hatton was volume, Tszyu is more heavy hitter/ pinpoint accuracy and not volume. Look at how Saul Alvarez fights now.
Also you might want to rewatch one of Tszyus best fights.
-
What about the Judah fight?
He caught Judah at the end of his punches....
I said he can't fight on the inside.....
GGG can fight on the inside, where he operates best.
Tszyu was a boxer/puncher, he didn't like being crowded, he had no inside game. He use to rough guys up being physical and Hatton out did him. Ever see his first fight with Sharmba Mitchell?
Tszyu started rough house tactics to get to him....he couldn't shorten up his punches on the inside.

Y0U'RE A FUCKING RETARD. MACKLIN GAVE SERGI0 MARTINEZ A HELL 0F A FIGHt. IT T00K HIM 11 R0UNDS T0 HAVE MACKLIN QUIT. G0L0FKIN HAS A 90 PERCENT K0 RATI0 THE GERATEST IN MIDDLEWEIGHT HIST0RY AND WHEN HE KN0CKS Y0U 0UT, HE D0SEN'T JUST KN0CK Y0U 0UT AND Y0U GET UP. HE KN0CKS Y0U 0UT C0LD AND Y0U'RE 0UT F0R MINUTES. You must be thinking of the wrong fight.
Haven't seen the fight in a long time but I remember Tszyu tossing him around and stuff....Mitchell hurting his knee, leg or whatever.
Anyways the point is Tszyu couldn't fight on the inside, what you quoted me on.
This is known in boxing circles, nothing new.

Mayweather would beat golovkin. I am not that impressed with sergio martinez especially lately! Sergio got beat last fight-IMO. They just gave him the nod because he was at home in brazil. Sergio ate alot of canvas that fight. They called them slips but sergio got alot of favoritism that fight! I am not that impressed with andre ward either! I think golovkin would beat ward. It seems like most of the guys who could beat golovkin are welterweights. seems all the good fighters are fighting at 147. One guy who does impress me is Mike alvarado. Mike alvarado holds alot of size and power for a welterweight. I also like Broner alot but not at 147. Broner love him or hate him is a very good fighter for a 23year old. He will drop down most likely if not he will get a fight he will win. No reason for adrien to push it to hard he is plenty young. They will pick broners opponents very carefully, even though broner might want the fight his management al hammond and michael stafford will pick adriens fights not adrien.
-
Mayweather wouldn't beat GGG.
GGG is too big, lol ridiculous.
Anyways Mayweather would never fight him.
-
Boxing is in fact.........Not dead.
-
Boxing been around for over a century, it won't die.
It's not like the 80s anymore where it was on TV and ppl got to know who was who, but boxers make wayyyyy more money than the UFC fighters.
Just need the best fighting the best and the sport will be fine.
-
MACKLIN IS A T0P MIDDLE WEIGHT. HE KN0CKED D0WN SERGI0 MARTINEZ. G0L0VKIN HAS BEATEN T0P MIDDLEWEIGHTS. PR0SKA IS 0NE WH0 C0MES T0 MIND. HE BEAT SEBASTIAN SYLVESTER A F0RMER IBF CHAMP AND G0L0VKIN DESTR0YED PR0SKA IN 5 RDS.

-
Mora gonna end up in a coma ;D
He has pillows for hands

Macklin looked awful! he looked out of shape and looks like he has substance abuse problems! Macklin was scared to fight after the first round! Golovkin was way to overwhelming for macklin.
No way glovkin would beat FMJ. Floyds defense is to good and he would get a decision nod. The fight will not happen anyway.
-
who dosn't want to fight mayweather? that is any fighters biggest payday win or lose! every fighter wants to fight mayweather! Mayweather is making alot of mexicans rich and able to retire early. Robert guerrero never has to fight again. EVERY boxers dream is to fight mayweather! If you are mexican southpaw you have the best chance.

I agree. Mayweather wouldn't beat Triple G. That's not a knock on Mayweather-GGG is just too damn big and strong for him. Hell, Cotto at 154 is pushing it with Money.
Sure, everyone wants to fight Mayweather if it was up to them. Mayweather wouldn't take a fight w/ GGG though.

you can shout all you want assbruise. he hasn't defeated a hall of fame type opponent, has beaten a bunch of shitty fighters with multiple loses to nobodies. a solid elite american champ will canvas that robotic european clown. i don't have time to look through the current 154-160s but one of them has his number.

This. This GGG guy doesn't have any American draw. Guerrero wasn't exactly a strong draw, so Saul was a catch up money selection. FMW is 37-38. Dimwits keep missing that. Why the fuck would he take brain damage type fights at the end of his boxing career? Even if GGG is billed as a 154-160 Tyson, what is gained fighting him at 40 yrs old? He damn sure doesn't give FMW a 50M+ Manny payday.

No Broner beat Malignaggi easily! Broner did not have a scratch on him! isn't Pauly malignaggi the "situation" from jersey shore? I honestly don't know they look and talk alike I didn't know the situation was a boxer. You also have to give adrien some credit ! Broner did jump 2 weight classes and he is only 23 years old. Broner is hard to hit! kind of like Mayweather. You seldom see any blood on Mayweather or even swelling! I have never seen Adrien get beat up real bad. I have seen adrien lose rounds but actually get bloody or swelled up ,I just have not seen it yet. I think broner will jump donw one weight class and fight at 140. I do think adrien is not scared of GGG and if they were in the same weight class Adrien would want to fight him por claim he could beat him. The shitty part abpout adrien broner is I really do think broner would take a verey hard fight if it was up to himself but Al hammond and Michael stafford control who adrien fights.
The situation did throw alot more puches but they were garbage puches and did NO damage! Adrien would hit the situation and his head would snap back like a bobble head toy.
Adrien has to move up there just is nobody that is a threat to broner at 130-135lbs. Ask Roy Jones nobody in that weight class can beat Broner. I think Broner needs to focus more on training then buying cars and wasting time rapping. That will be Adriens downfall partying too much and wasting time doing retarded shit when he needs to just train 24/7. Broner is a strong dude and he is natural! Adrien takes a piss test after every fight. If adrien uses HGH or certain designer steroids or any steroids he does not go into the fight on cycle. They send those piss tests to labs and they will find everything! It is very hard to manipulate those drug tests. Adrien can get agressive wich is why I thibnk he gets randomly tested so much. He def has very good breathing and like he's lifting weights he almost grunts everytime he throws a power punch kind of like berto. berto grunts when he throws a power shot like broner.Berto is another dangerous fighter. he can def end a fight just with one clean shot.Berto is built like a bodybuilder with alot of speed. berto has a nasty uppercutt. As far as GGG he has not fought anybody that tough ! macklin was def out of shape, Nervous, looked like he has been using narcotics or drinking alot lately, Macklin was no competition! he was sloppy and way out of shape!Easy fight for GG and would have been for many other fighters!macklin was not even close to in-shape!

Mayweather =/= Broner. Mayweather defense is amazing, shoul;der roll then counter with cross is perfected. Broner on other hand still hasn't perfected shoulder roll like Money, despite his best attempts.
Easy? Going 12 rounds is easy for Broner?! Oh god, now maybe if Broner KOd Malinaggi like he bragged he would then everyone would agree it was easy. Broner the Boner went 12 rounds without making Malinaggi have a freak reaction even once !
If adrian is so strong and fast how come he didn't even put malinaggi down once in all 12 rounds? Watch the fight again...Broner started getting frustrated and angry by round two that he couldn't land a clean hit on Malinaggi, because of naggi constant volume and his fast movement. All the shit talkin through the fight from Broner and he couldnt even land a good clean shot. Fight should have went to Malinaggi by points. If Ricky HAtton was still around he would humiliate Broner.
Broner is overrated bum thats been getting cherrypicked fighters.
-
Gennady / GGG will either be one of 2 things:
1. One of the best ever in the sport. (Up there with Ali, FMW and company)
2. The most avoided ever in the sport.
Depends on who mans up to fight him. Well at least a true warrior Carl Froch has said he'll fight him whenever it can be made (probably next year after Ward and maybe Kessler III).

not by adriens choice. Al Hammond and michael stafford pick all adriens fights not adrien. I honestly think Adrien would fight anybody in his weight class because he is young and cocky.
No way paulie won that fight! look at paulies face after that fight it looked way worse then adriens face. adrien did not have a mark on him and paulie did not hit adrien with anything hard at all! Adrien did not do any serious damage but he did land way harder shots up-stairs to paulie. You also have to give the kid credit he stepped up 2 weight classes at 23 years old how many fighters have done that? Look at what broner did to demarco! Demarco will never look the same! that fight got ugly! They had to throw the towell in adrien would of done some permanent damage to demarco if that fight kept going. I am sure adrien did do permanent damage to demarco. But if that fight went a few more round demarco would of had brain damage. Adrien fucked him up bad! I don't think I have seen a fighter get so fucked up all last year. that demarco fight was ugly! who got beat up worse then demarco last year? and demarco is not a bum fighter! so that says something about adrien. are you saying demarco was just a bum of a fighter?

he is pretty dangerous in that class but who is really in that class that is that dangerous? sergio martinez is old and andre ward is hurt and I think is overated. he is a great knock-out puncher but I doubt he has the boxing skills mayweather has. No way he would beat mayweather but that fight will never happen so no need to talk about it. If Mike alvarado jumped up a class those 2 would make a good fight. Mike has the size and strength to jump up a weight class.

Boxing is a game of opinions, even when the stats speak for themselves lol, but the BigCyp knows boxing greatness when he sees it, and he sees it in GGG.

Now it's just a case of hoping the seedy promoters find a way of giving him the fights he deserves, as well as making their money off him.

there is not much competition in that weight class. I think he could beat sergio Martinez as he is getting old and has had numerous injuries. Chavez Jr. trains like shit but still might be his biggest challenge. I think all the big fights and money is at the 147lb welterweight division. If he get drop down to welterweight he could fight big names like Brandon Rios, Mike alvarado,Robert guererro, manny pacquioa,FMM, Marquez, broner if he stays at 147, berto, and many more. seems like 147lb welterweight is where all the big names are fighting at

I can't see Sergio choosing GGG as his last fight, too much of a risk to go out on a terrible note - plus no chance he'd be remembered as one of best in Middleweight if he gets banged out hard within 3 rounds lol.
Chavez Jr won't be able to withstand the sheer pressure and accuracy GGG will bring so that one's in the bag in my opinion, leaving him to jump up to Super and fight Froch/Ward, or shrink down to maybe 152 to challenge FMW/Broner...............which will NEVER HAPPEN lol :D
-
Tszyu hurt you from the end of his punches.
Ever see the Hatton fight? Hatton didn't give him room to set up his punches.
Mayweather beat Hatton on the inside, have to have that inside and outside game.
Guys like Tszyu, Kessler, Wlad, straight up euro fighters.....on the inside they can't fight.
Hatton v Tszyu was bullshit, not even a fucking boxing fight just Hatton holding him and doing cheap shots because Tszyu would have killed him.
-
WHO THE FUCK HAS HE BEATEN?!
He has heavy, slow feet (fucking horrible foot work) like most Euro boxers. On top of that he is very stiff up top and telegraphs his shots. Can he make 147, so one of the top guys can end this shit?
Sergio is old and trying to get his last money fights to end his career like FMW. what's the point of him fighting this dude? Old champs have nothing gain.
-

Hatton fucking sucks! look at the horrific beating manny and floyd gave him plus the other beatings lower level fighters have given him. hatton is well played out!

I think the kid lacks serious fundamentals but does have that ability to knock people out. I think his best bet is to drop down to 147lbs and take on some of the bigger names that way he can really get tested and see if the hype holds up. I would like to see him fight alot of welterweights like FMJ, Manny,Rios, Broner, alvarado, ruslim provachnikoff, Amir Khan, Bradley. there are alot of names at 147 that would be a real Test and would yield GGG alot more cash
-
Froch would hammer him.
Ive sparred Froch about 50+ times since 2005 around the gyms of Nottingham like Castle Blvd and Liberties.
Trust me, if GGG fought the same night that Carl Froch battered Lucian Bute or made Jean Pascal his bitch - then nobody would entertain the notion that a win over a career light middle Macklin, ranked outside the top 8 at 160lb suddenly propels him into a victory over Carl Froch at 168lb has really swallowed the hype.
When Dmitry Pirog obliterated Danny Jacobs a few years ago, everyone thought he was incredible too and he's done little since.
Granted, GGG is a much better prospect in middleweight division - but he would be like Broner if he moved up, his power would be nowhere as devastating - especially when you see the shots that Kessler blew awat Marcus Beyer with, or the body shots that took Brian Magee out. Yet Kessler couldn't make a dent in Froch who came roaring back with his own heavy hands no sooner as he was hit.
You've sparred with Froch? :o

I think Broner neds to get used to heavier weight. He was noticeably slow at 147, needs time to adjust and get his cardio up. Also Broner should lay of from mouthing of at the end of the fight, he got lucky this time but next time he might not be able to gloat anymore.
-
GGG is a technical european fighter with a big punch. What the fuck is new? again, what great american champ has he defeated on northern soil? he's defeated a bunch of douches.
Have you watched the last fight? Golovkin is no Kostya Tszyu clone.
-
Wow I missed a lot ;D

froch is going to get hammered, fuck off, hope this helps
-
GGG is a good fighter. Its not just about his level of competition, he has beaten some solid fringe contenders, its about how he wins that is impressive. Still Froch and FMJ are in another league. Thats not to say GGG couldnt win though its just premature to start these comparisons.
The truth is though, if you are a champ, then you fight the best. You dont pick and choose your opponents. If FMJ or Sergio Martinez are worried about their health, then they should retire.
One other thing Hatton was a glorified clubfighter who was mostly all hype. His skills were very limited. I think Tszyu got old overnight. Hatton was managed beautifully to a glossy record. He had a ton of heart and determination but not much more.
-
Still Froch and FMJ are in another league.
Hahhaa, you must be British .
-
Hahhaa, you must be British .
No....Froch fights like a retard. No doubt. But over the past 3 or 4 Years nobody has had a tougher schedule Yet he keeps winning. Now granted, style wise, Froch is made for GGG.
-
..........Froch and FMJ are in another league..................
Froch isn't in Floyd's league. Froch is good but he's not even close to the best in his division. GGG is in Froch's league for sure-and definitely deserved to be in the conversation of Carl and his upcoming opponents.

"Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin (Kazakh: Головкин Геннадий Геннадийұлы; Russian: Геннадий Геннадьевич Головкин; born April 8, 1982) is a Kazakh boxer of Russian-Korean descent[1] who competed in the Middleweight (75 kg) division at the 2004 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal. He is the current WBA and IBO Middleweight Champion. With an 89% knockout percentage rate, Golovkin holds the greatest KO ratio in middleweight championship history and is 1st amongst all active current and former champions, and 3rd in overall championship history.[2] He has never been knocked down or knocked out in over 375 fights, both as a professional and amateur."
This is Wikipedia. Dude is a beast. Would love to see FMW fight this guy. That would be entertaining.

No mention whatsoever of Andre Ward ::)

Martinez wants the fight
http://www.badlefthook.com/2013/7/1/4484014/sergio-martinez-says-he-wont-avoid-gennady-golovkin-in-2014
"He said that history will show that he has embraced every challenge available to him in his career. His legacy will be that he was always willing to fight the best. Right now, his concentration is on healing and rehabilitation and he will not fight until sometime in the first half of 2014. He wanted to make it clear that he is willing to fight Gennady Golovkin in the future ''
BTW if Danny Garcia doesn't fight Matthysse next ,he will be remembered as the biggest pussy in the history of boxing .

if martinez fights like he always does he should win a decision
since he is coming of surgery he will most likely not be able to stick and move
dont be suprised if he KOs martinez

paulie is a 1 handed fighter who punches like a kitten he was never going to hurt broner
paulie did outwork broner and landed a lot of jabs (only punch he has)
paulie should of won but judges like harder punches from broner

Yeah, I saw that. Zab Judah's been all over twitter saying that they're close to finalizing a rematch w/ Garcia.
I'll give Garcia the benefit of the doubt for now. There's no way he can NOT take this fight. Is there?
-
sergio is done with! I would not take that fight if I was sergio! Sergio is battling some serious injuries and honestly looked awful in his last fight. I personally think he lost his last fight!
Sergio would get knocked down maybe knocked out but for sure his ass would hit the canvas 2 or 3 times! Horrible fight choice for martinez if he he fought GGG.
Andre ward would be a better choice . I think andre is a better boxer but I still think he is way overrated and would get knocked out by GGG. Andre ward is coming off a injury as well and he would get knocked out and blame it on his hand. But I gaurantee injury or not GGG would beat ward. Ward is way overrated.
-
I think Ward could put on a clinic IF he boxes SMART.

Who the fuck has GGG beat? Ward won the super 6. GGG is close to Abarham but LESS experienced, and Ward handled him. On top of that GGG goes up like Edison Maranda so the power output goes down against 6 foot CWs like Ward.
Ward picks this GGG dude apart. Also, Ward isn't coming down to fight a no name. Why would he?

who else would GGG fight? Martinez would not be a threat so it would come down to Ward or chavez jr. But first chavez jr and ward will fight soo as andre heals up and gets his management problems figured out. Andre is not that great and GGG -IMO could beat ward and chavez. I think chavez would give hima harder time then ward just due to chvez's size.
Either way GGG is good enough to fight martinez, ward or chavez jr. GGG will probably fight whoever wins the chavez ward fight that will hopefully happen in september. If GGG was smart he would drop to 147 and get some good fights that will pay 7 figures. I don't think GGG has had even close to a 7 figure fight. broner just got his 7 figure dollar fight from what I heard yet broner pisses money away like he is Jay-Z.

maybe he fights chavez at 160, because that will just be an exchange and see who hits the canvas first, but his power advantage will go down the drain against super middleweights like maranda's. even martinez at his peak didn't want to go up against 168s, his trainers didn't want it, and he had the speed to run away from them for 10 rds. this GGG dude is a sitting duck for 168 leather. he'd be a big 154 fighter at 5'10". no way he'd get a catch weight fight with fmw because of the size issue. i still need to see him fight SOMEBODY, ANYBODY. i'd be interested in seeing maranda vs ggg at 160. maranda is target practice against 168s but can bang at 160, but he's too fucking lazy to make weight. dummy!

GGG power will be fine at 168, look what he did to Bute with headgear.

where does this andre ward is not great come from?,,,, he's the best middleweight champ weve had for a good while, he won the super 6, beating a very good crop of fighters one after the other

too clouded by mayweather to have a subjective view on any fighter, especialy if he's white...

i need to see him fight a top 5 middle-weight. then, we can talk about ward at 168. lets be real. he has ko'ed a bunch of cans as any young fighter coming up. as far as the amateurs go, cubans win everything, but are bums in the pro ranks once they meet slick boxers.
at 5'10 he's too big for fmw. i already said that.
-
maklin beat the german, he almost beat sergio.... so that would make him top 2/3 middleweight would it not?
-
oh brother, a stiff technical euro boxer. ::) he's right up there with cuban :( pros. the FMW obnoxious clone would out point him. at 37-38 why would fmw fight a guy who isn't a guaranteed 1M plus PPV draw when Mexicans have a good North American following?
why are you still talking? Shut the fuck up and go back to talking about dime piece trannies.
-
i need to see him fight a top 5 middle-weight. then, we can talk.................
Top five? Well here's the top 5 not including GGG.
1. Martinez
2. Daniel Geale
3. Felix Sturm
4. Peter Quillen
5. Chavez Jr.
Golovkin, right now is better than all of them. Macklin, who he just desrtoyed, is at 6.
You shouldn't talk boxing anymore. You seem to be out of your element.

macklin is not a bum fighter and has won some big fights he almost went 12 with sergio and GGG beat him silly! Macklin was scared to be in the ring with GGG you could see it! GG made macklin look like it was macklins first time in the ring. macklin got schooled! GGG made macklin look like out of shape bum. I think GGG could fight any of the top 5 . chavez for some reason I think would give him the most problems, andre ward would take alot of puches from GGG and ward does not have the same power as GGG has especially since the injury.GGG would end wards career! not a easy fight for GGG but he would end up with the knock-out of the decision.
GGG is a real class act as well! I like the guys style he is a very polite guy who does not come of cocky at all he is real humble and just feel blessed he def does not come off cocky like broner and floyd. GG G is def a classy respectful fighter. Guys like GGG make good champs they deserve it.
-
where does this andre ward is not great come from?,,,, he's the best middleweight champ weve had for a good while, he won the super 6, beating a very good crop of fighters one after the other
a boxer that can punch and take a shot, whats not to like about him
I am just not that impressed with ward! overated-IMO. second pound for pound fighter in the world my ass! I just have never seen him do anything very impressive. he knows how to win but I have never seen him just seriously destroy a opponent or retire anybody.

That about says it all. Now shut the fuck up. Thanks.

Mayweather and GGG could easily match up to fight. Floyd actually looks bigger to me then GGG. Mayweather is so conditioned! Mayweather has room to put on 8 lbs and fight at 154lbs and GGG could fight at 154 pounds. That would be a good fight! GGG says he wants to fight mayweather so it would have to be on terms like that a 154 pound fight. Mayweather is always in supreme shape. That would be a great fight! I think floyds defense is to good and GGG would get hit with alot of countershots. Floyd would win just because his defense is so good. I have never seen floyd get knocked down. Mayweather took ne good shot from shane mosley and it buckled him a little but after that one shot floyd dominated and shane didn't land any shots after that big shot in the 3rd round i think it was.
Of course this is what the fans want to see and from what GGG said he wants to fight floyd but floyd would probably not take that fight as he seems to only fight broken down mexicans these days. canelo isn't really broken down but he is just a big sloppy fighter with limited skills. Floyd will beat alvarez silly. The rest of floyds career who will be duking it out with mexicans.
After he beats canelo he will take an even easier fight maybe fighting austin trout the guy canelo beat or just some no name mexican he finds in tijuana.
I would like to see floyd fight that serbian Bradley fought Ruslim provachnokof. that would be a interesting fight as ruslim really pushes forward hard. I think he would give floyd some problems.
-

You're a damn fool. Macklin is a fucking 160 version of Greg Haugen. Put him in the ring with a REAL champion at 160-168, not a straight chin at you Irishman. ::)
Yeah, I don't know boxing. ::)
Now, fucking Irishmen rule weight divisions. Only in the mind of getbiggers.
Hence, GGG still hasn't fought anyone.

i haven't heard one person in a boxing interview put this GGG dude in a sentence with FMW. every bozo who knocks someone out from 147-160 will be the next challenge for FMW. Dude is 38, and people are saying now, he is scared of a guy who can balloon past 168 at the bell. ::) Fuck, FMW should just fight Ward at 6'1 180 at the bell and get it over with.
-

Floyd is 38 and is still in peak condition! It is because floyd does not really fight very much and has never been pushed to the limit by anybody! Floyd would easily beat Ward but that fight is not going to happen. Floyd will not take one hard fight with just 4 more fights left. Floyd is going to retire beating up on no name mexicans.
-

Now, Canelo is a no name. Everyone has been screaming his name for a year. Now, he isn't legit because FMW took the fight. It will be interesting if it ends in a split decision. I can see the fanboys saying, they knew Canelo was great and that decision was a robbery. And don't let him knock FMW down. I'm just keeping records, because there is no one who is giving him 1 or 2 rounds in the fight. "1", please delete all posts of Canelo bandwagon jumpers if the fight is a split.
So, you want FMW to fight a cruiserweight now at 38

Canelo's conditioning is shit compared to floyds. Floyds defense is way to good! Canelo won't touch him. It will probably go the distance as floyd is not na huge knockout fighter but floyd knows how to pick his shots,he never gets caught slipping. I have only seen floyd take one hard shot by mosley in years.Canelo is a bum.

how in earth could a mature welter beat a super middle?.... i dont get how you guys are pulling these names out the hat like that
1st rule of boxing, good big man always wins
-
Yeah, I don't know boxing. ::)
Yup. That pretty much sums it up.

Brutal what he did to Bute

Martinez is one handsome man. No homo. Reminds me of Fruity Rudy from Generation Kill.

Mayweather could beat ward at 147 and ward could be 170 and he would still lose to mayweather!
-
Mayweather could beat ward at 147 and ward could be 170 and he would still lose to mayweather!
give floyd 6oz gloves of less he gets a stoppage by 10
give him pillows he will win by comfortable decision against ward at any weight
floyd has been in the ring since 3 years old he learnt to box from roger who was a good offense fighter
and his father good defense fighter combine there knowledge and years or practice you have a great fighter
boxers who are great have lost many times behind closed doors in sparring and floyd has been sparring since god knows how long
he has sparred middles and light heavies regularly so he doesnt get scared of bigger punches
giving up 10kgs in weight is no valid excuse many great fighter have fought guys mucher bigger than themselves
-
Mayweather could beat ward at 147 and ward could be 170 and he would still lose to mayweather!
This.
Ward is not in Mayweather's league, Floyd would outbox him, and 'outslick' Ward even if you put Ward's head on Tyson's Body.
-
Are you guys high? Seriously, this Floyd vs Ward stuff makes you sound ignorant really. You might as well just say Floyd would whoop Lennox Lewis' ass at 154lbs.
-

FMW would even beat Suckmymuscle at 200 pounds.
-
big cyp hitting the ouzo hard in this thread.... so what you fellas are saying is andre ward, who beat carl froch hands down, would be easily defeated by the shorter/smaller/weaker mayweather
meanwhile in reality carl froch would punch and bully mayweather senseless, ward would do the same just with more class
if you wanted to make this a valid argument, of a welter moving up to beat a super middle, he would be a young fighter, turning pro at welter and maturing into a heavier fighter...
-
weight classes exist for a reason
-
I think this would be a fair fight if the velociraptor was starved down to 150- 148.

I gaurantee Mayweather at 147lbs wpould beat ward at 170lbs. Mayweather is that good! Ward is overarted! Carl Froch-LOL. OOh! what a bad man-LOL. Mayweather would frustarte ward all night and ward would not land a shot or very few shots! Mayweathers defense is just way to good and mayweather comes in incredible shape everytime! mayweather has the skill and the heart to beat a broken down ward even if ward had 20 lbs on him! Wards hand would break again right away and it would be game over!
Floyd is that good! best defense ever and best counter-puncher! Ward has never done anything to impress me to be considered the worlds 2nd lb for lb fighter! Ward never comes in the condition mayweather comes in and has not fought anybody that great! Carl froch-OOh what a bad ass! Chad dawson- Oh my lord what a bad-ass-lol dawson just got dropped within a minute by stevenson.
ward is way overrated and why does 20 lbs matter so much? have you guys never seen a smaller guy beat the shit out of a fairly bigger guy? It is possible! weight does not mean that much especially if you are fighting somebody who's skills are not even close to your level. Floyd would teach andre ward how to box all over again! Floyds style would be to overwhelming to Andre wardward would not land a good punch the whole fight!Andre ward should stick to commentating!

And Kesslar and Abraham are jokes too. FMW won't touch guys with good power, activity, etc., who stand 5'11 or better. In that case he should have fought Paul Williams at his apex (100 punches per round), which was 147-154 or took on a peaked Sergio 2-2.5 years ago.
FMW was great pre-welterweight, has found away to pick his way through the welterweight division and make good money doing it while minimizing head damage. But he gets fucked by hall of fame quality middleweights or higher at catch-weights
I remember Steward and some of the greats saying, Hearn's right would catch up to FMW at some point, but unlike Leonard at 147 FMW would go down.
Let FMW finish undefeated on his nice little hand picked tour. He found away to get through the WW division without meeting a HoF rival at their peak.

True but that does not mean he couldn't beat the best he just does not want to risk it and why if your making the kind of money he does. I taher fight a bunch of southpaw mexicans too. But I think if Maywetaher wanted he could easily beat down ward even weighing way less. Wards hand is screwed and he would just break it again trying to compete with floyd. you have to admit even though floyd picked some easy fights he is a great fighter who is def the best in boxing and i think would beat ward even fighting ward at 147 and ward at 170.

the issue i have with fmw is, he stayed away from cotto when he body punched quintana into oblivion. instead, he grabbed cotto when he was all but done. he more or less went on record as saying, paul williams was too big. what makes you think he wouldn't do the same with ward, if ward was a 154 freak with his skills at 6'2. he said, sergio martinez 2 yrs ago was too big at 5'9.5. how tall is saul? i bet his bell weight is similar to martinez's since sergio is a bit undersized for a middle-weight. i will give him a break on manny, because he won't touch a fight with arum getting a cut. i mean he won't even touch pillow punching bradley since he signed with top rank, but make no mistake when burnt out manny's top rank contract is over fmw will jump on the fight for 50M.
his career is filled with too many timing fights. he just sat on the curve waiting for guys to turn into trash instead of taking them at their best and stayed away from 50.50 fights in which he couldn't pre-determine an easy boxing clinic win by his standards.
-
Darn shame Floyd Jr. wasn't around during the late 70's and 80's when the 4 kings were fighting - Duran,Hagler,Leonard, and the Motor City Cobra Tommy Hearns,(Benitez was getting old but still great also)
I don't know if Floyd could have beaten any of the fighters mentioned above, not knocking Floyd he is the man right now, but it would have been interesting to see how those fights would have played out

weight and heaight do not matter too much when you are fighting a alete fighter! That is why I am saying Mayweather would beat ward weighing 147lbs and ward at 170lbs.
Look at what manny did to margarito and margarito held aboutb 15 lbs on manny and looked about a foot taller and Manny fucked margarito up so bad margarito needed a faceial reconfiguration! No Joke. That fight was UGLY! Manny did not get touched and margarito was a bloddy mess and had a busted everything! I think his jaw was broken if not everything else was foir sure broken. margarito was pouring blood everywhere and his eyes were so swollen! A good fighter is a good fighter. heaight and weight does not mean everything!

You keep saying Ward @147 but he refused to fight Willaims (freak 147 like Ward would be) and Martinez @ 152-54. He has to beat the current freaks to move one down to his weight. All he came up with is, Martinez and Williams couldn't produce the ppv nunbers or they were just too big. Man, Ward's dimensions would be similar to Williams, except he is faster and a much slicker boxer.
-
white widow slamming the pain meds hard in this thread, there are weight classes for a reason, he would get man handled and bullied by a super middle
-

Wrong-it means everything.
That is why I am saying Mayweather would beat ward weighing 147lbs and ward at 170lbs.
Not even a remote possibility.

Utter nonsense.

Ward is a horrible boxer! he is slow! Know way he would beat Mayweather. Mayweather plays the game very smart! If Mayweather were to fight ward ,ward would have no chance!
look at what Manny did to margarito when margarito weighed about 20 more lbs and looked about a foot taller! He fucked him up really bad! Margariot will never be the same after that fight , margarito needed face reconfiguration after that fight. Floyd would mess andre ward up real nicely especially since ward is never going to be 100% again. Floyd is in great shape! even though he is 38 floyd has not lost his touch.Easy win for Mayweather. Would it be a fight he would really take? hell no! why? He has a bunch of mexicans lined up till he retires. floyd does the smart thing not the most risky thing alrthough I dont think it would be a risk however I think Floyd would rather fight some southpaw mexican then andre ward.
-
Ward is a horrible boxer! he is slow!
Ok I get it now. You're just trollin'
-
Ward hasn't lost a fight since the age of 12.
The guy is not overrated lol
He'd beat GGG
The guy is Hopkins with speed and athleticism.
-
maragarito was never 20lbs heavier...... also you keep saying how slick floyd is etc etc
what your not getting is, he is slick as he still has power to keep the other welters in place, any proper , solid super middle would walk thru his best shots and chuckle to them selves , he would have no authority what so ever... he would be remorselessly punished, bullied and sent into retirement
i can think of 3 off the top of my head that would simply walk thru him for an easy nights work... ward, froch and kessler ........ theres plenty more whippersnappers who are climbing up the ranks who would do a job on him too... its just a stupid argument your trying to make
i dont even think his ego is big enough to try and claim he could
-
Golovkin is a modern day prime Kostya Tzsyu, he would present Mayweather with a fight he could genuinely lose, but only due to his accuracy as a puncher with both hands and one punch knock out power, more than likely mayweather would out point him over 12 rounds in a fight where he would be on his bike all night keeping his distance. Froch please shame Calzaghie isn't still fighting he cannot fight a good boxer, Ward showed that the first time, no point them fighting again, they are that far apart.Calzaghie Ward would be a great fight as both guys have good speed and movment both are well above the likes of Froch in terms of skill, taking nothing away from him as a genuine champion but hes limited when talking p4p
-
