How can you not have convictions one way or the other? Me, I'm a liberal. Across the board liberal. Card carrying liberal. I've been against our wars and aggressions my entire life. Ron Paul and Rand Paul are absolutely correct about bringing our troops home and keeping them there. I could never vote for them though, because all the other issues they are wrong on, outweight this one. I don't understand how some people and by some were talking millions could vote for GW Bush twice, then vote for BH Obama and then vote for Romney? To me, the undecideds are chickenshits. I don't typically vote for the candidate, I read the party platform and that's the way I vote. Here is another example. Claire McCaskill won re-election in Missouri by around 20 points, yet Obama lost by 10 points. How could you possibly go into the voting booth and Vote for McCaskill and Romney? I just can't get my head around it. That may have been more about racism than ideology, the more I think about it. But here in Michigan, Stabenow won re-election to the Senate quite handily while Snyder trounced Bernero for Governor. How can that be?

Are you a pacifist?

the most hilarious thing about liberal democrats is their belief that their party isn't in bed with corporate America just as much, if not more, than the Republican party. It's mind numbingly annoying how none of them get it.
-
U don't get it...those are other more caring rich people. The lib rich really love minorities, the environment, the poor etc. They really love public schools but sadly their kids have to go to private school because its their duty to ensure the middle class has a spot in public schools. Those jets they fly on...they're not fueled with jet fuel. They're fueled with love, unicorn farts and hope. Those up armored SUV's...well sometimes bad conservatives with icky guns try and kill them so they need them. Besides its ok to kill 50 people in a movie..but ma and pa kettle better never try and buy an AR, because those are scary....and remember addiction is a disease, so when rich lib actors go to rehab, its not their fault.
When everything goes to hell, I want to run the special camps, just for the lib elites.

I've acknowledged and even made that point myself many times

Yep. I'm never voting for a lib or democrat ever again. They are even worse than republicans. Only true conservatives have it mostly right

BY THE WAY, are you 14 or just too stupid and lazy to bother spelling out those difficult words?

Fairy still lives with his mother
That's part of the reason why he is so angry all the time (the other reason of course is because he is a loser and he knows it and he can't deal with the fact that his failure in life is his own fault)

i said "just as much if not more". let me ask you whork. Obama administration hands the auto industry almost $100 billion dollars and you're going to sit here and shout from the rooftops that the Republican party is in bed with corporate America? i'm sorry but thats just stupid.
you can say what you want about the Republican party but you can't sit here and claim that they're any worse than the Democratic party with regards to shady business dealings if you know the first thing about what has gone on over the past 7 years. it's just common sense. and i'm just sick and tired of the rhetoric being punded into people's heads by the mainstream.
it really is true that if you say something enough times, no matter how stupid, the masses will begin to believe it.

Oh the dem are not "clean" if they were they would not have their positions in government. No saints here.
But you got to admit that the actions of repub keeps citizens from getting access to health insurance on a larger scale than the actions of the dem. (I actually mixed 2 debates together the one about health insurance and coorporate america. My bad).

its not a sound assumption because the U.S. as with all democracies is based on taking care of each other and coming together for the common good......not to mention that universal healthcare is less expensive in the long run and saves countless lives and unnecessary emergency room visits which are really expensive....

I actually believe that a common healthcare bill would have been good... To be honest, Anthony Weiner was correct... Single Payer... Allowing people who can't afford real insurance to buy into Medicare at any age.
The current healthcare bill is crap, but unfortunately, when the Republicans had the ability to do whatever they want, they decided healthcare wasn't important and found other things to do instead.
The Democrats pushed forth something shitty because there really wasn't much of an alternative.

You don't think the US needed to move into the world with some sort of preventive healthcare plan for everyone?
Most people will agree that preventive medicine reduces medical costs in the long run.

So instead of fixing the broken system they just throw another 30 million people into it. They then vote to exempt themselves from it, knowing full well it will be a piece of shit.
Brilliant work by the left.

THIS
acting simply for the sake of acting and saving face which is exactly what obama and the liberals did was not the solution to the problem. What they did was take 5 steps back in getting to a good solution by passing this bill which complicates with red tape and bureaucracy, increases cost to insure people, increases costs of everyday businesses and hurts the economy.

obviously it is, but why dont you give us the young college student perspective just in case we may be overlooking some of the more obvious points ::)

Off the top of my head, how about the 24 year old college student who would have been kicked off his parents insurance pre "Obamacare".
How about the pre existing condition clause?
Please, enlighten me why those 2 provisions aren't good?
I'll be waiting with my boots on.

At 24, you should already be out of college (for most majors) and with a JOB.
Pre-existing conditions cost extra for treatment. If you don't let doctors charge what is appropriate, they'll just stop treating certain ailments altogether. You can have the coverage all you want; it's finding someone who will do the procedures that's the trick.

They most certainly do NOT. And they most certainly will NOT. The billing is the exact same for services rendered no matter if it is your first time being treated or your tenth. You are billed for the services based on treatment and duration. As far as doctors going to stop treating certain ailments, if it is within their scope and practice and they stop... well that is just shitting on the Hippocratic Oath they have taken and based their life upon. They can expect to be dropped by any hospital they are employed by, contracted with or affiliated with.

youre picking and choosing there genius...you spoke on the totality of obamacare not bits and pieces.
Those clauses could have been passed independently, if I recall correctly reps were in favor of both of those at the end of negotiations.
you said obamacare was better "not bits and pieces of obamacare was better".

Delusional and naive.

I know of a white woman in the USA who said that she has never voted Republican and will never vote Republican. She's a die hard, liberal Democrat. The past two presidential elections, she refused to vote because she said she believes blacks shouldn't govern the nation. :-X

Really?
So those bits and pieces outweigh the huge increase in premiums that outpace the premium increases of the current "status quo", the consequence that employers are laying off or cutting hours in order to be under 30 full time employees, and the 30 MILLION PEOPLE THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE UNINSURED ACCORDING TO THE CBO?
How can it be better when it doesn't even solve the problem?
-

These idiots have Social Security, the Post Office, IRS, and Human Services (welfare) staring them in the face as proof of the government's incompetence and wasteful spending.
Yet, they will trust that same government with their health care. HEHEHEHEH!! Bunch of idiots. No wonder this country is in the toilet.

there is so much stupid in this post i can't even find a place to begin a rebuttal. basically because there are some things paid for by the taxpayers then the entire private sector should be wiped out of existence? because the private sector has given us nothing right? i'm sorry but this is the most idiotic, most vapid post i've seen on this board.......ever. may god have mercy on your soul.

The simple fact of the matter is that the target audience that Obamacare is intended for already have free health care anyway. It's called welfare.

Yes. But that is irrelevant to the point I stated.
Obamacare was never intended to benefit the people who have health care. They people who benefit from it are those that (alledgedly) do not have health care. Obamacare is nothing more than a mass extension and continuation of welfare. (Medicaid)

False - Obamacare takes away from those that pay, work, and have, and gives it to govt workers to fuck w everyone else to administer.
No one benefits from this mess.

^^ still unable to understand a simple concept.
Let me break down even further for your stupid ass since you apparently need to have it spoon fed for you.
Obamacare is basically health insurance welfare for those who don't want to work a job and earn it themselves correct?

Insurance carriers and the Govt

I am talking people, not entities.
Are you really this stupid, or just putting on a show? What PEOPLE are to be the ones that benefit from Obamacare?

Single-payer?
How about you look at other nations that have single-payer and come back to tell us how that is working out for them.
It's working out GREAT for my cousins in Toronto. Not to mention all the single payer countries rank way ahead of us. You are entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts.

Because unlike your side would have everyone believe, the guy is not a liberal. He's Gerald Ford/Bob Dole in black face. Believe me, I was and still am sickened by the way he started out negotiating health care from the Bob Dole/Mitt Romney model. That doesn't change the fact that our country is better off with the ACA than without it.

How many jobs have you had in your life? Can you answer this question honestly? Do think maybe the 35/40 year old version of you, who had a little more experience in non sheltered real life, will look back at you and think you were a bit naive?

Ahead of us in what? Certainly not technology and quality of care. Even some Canadian government officials in the past have sought medical care in the USA. I wonder why that is? Maybe is because in the USA no one has to wait 3 to 4 months for an MRI. Maybe is because in the USA no one has to wait 6 months for an operation. Maybe is because we still have on average very good doctors and not the mediocrity that barely passed medical school and survived residency by the skin of their teeth.
Oh, but don't worry. This country is well on its way to having many doctors leave the profession and having very poor quality of care due to Obamacrapcare. We will be in the same level or even worse compared to Canada. Yeah. Can't wait.

Yeah, Canadian government officials come here for elective surgery. So what? My cousin tore his bicep in Toronto and had it reattached in less than 10 days. I'm going to assume that included an MRI. Unless they did the surgery and 3-4 months later did the MRI as you implied. You need to do better than regurgitate urban legend or flat out bullshit.
Yeah, the doctors who make a couple million dollars in the US are going to leave the US to practice or get out of the field all together. Almost too stupid to respond to, but I can't resist. Tell me moron, where are they going to go? Canada? Mexico? Europe? Russia? Asia? Or LMFAO the middle east? I can see my fathers heart surgeon, Dr. Abdullah Sultani packing his bags and going back to Syria because Obamacare will make Syria the more appealing choice. Need I go on? Come at me brah! LOL.

i have at least 30 relatives, all ages, who are Canadian citizens. i have talked with them about their health care. they are very happy with it.
Yes, it does take too long to do some things done and in fact sometimes they have to schedule MRI's at 3am. but the bottom line is, everyone gets it.
But they have outrageous taxes on all levels.
We have outrageous health care costs.
and there is no way in hell you can say this turd call Obamacare is anything but a turd. The costs for health care are NOT going down.
Its a fucking ass raping and OB sold us out.
If they go down, i will have no problem admitting i was wrong. But unless they do, the ass raping will continue and you parrots will continue to suck two party cock and sing about it.

I expect that over the course of the next few years, prices will go down. I hope your not implying that prices/premiums just started rising during the Obama administration? I can tell you from my experience that my first noticeably hike came between the birth of my two children. That was from 2004-2006. It almost doubled from 2004 to 2006. It has risen each and every year since then, but in much, much smaller increments.

UPS to drop 15,000 spouses from insurance, cites Obamacare
EnlargeAndrew Harrer / Bloomberg
A United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) employee scans a package while making a delivery.
United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.
The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act's effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.
According to Kaiser, UPS told white-collar workers two months ago that 15,000 working spouses eligible for coverage by their own employers would be excluded from the UPS plan in 2014.
UPS expects the move, which applies to non-union U.S. workers only, to save about $60 million a year, company spokesman Andy McGowan said.
The health law requires large employers to cover employees and dependent children, but not spouses or domestic partners, Kaiser adds.
Kaiser said the Obama administration would not respond directly to UPS' statements, but said that employer coverage increased when Massachusetts implemented its own version of the health overhaul.
"The health care law will make health insurance more affordable, strengthen small businesses and make it easier for employers to provide coverage to their workers," said Joanne Peters, spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

For those that didnt get healthcare before but does with universal healthcare it goes up by, well 100% actually.
Compared to private healthcare for instance(private hospital etc) the level of care is obviously lower.

The fact of the matter is that everything we use in society is paid for by others.
In your case, and that of your community you're absulutly correct. Others do pay for everything you (and your people) use in society.
The rest of us do pay taxes though. I pay for the public services I use and then some. I've paid for my share of the park, roads, police, etc. as well as yours (and your baby mama, and all her children).
