The movie comes to theaters on September 20th...
-
hopefully it comes out in imax 3d smellovision
-
Got my Lube and Towel Ready for my trip to AMC theaters
-
if they filmed it this year........it would be far more interesting to watch.
kai, phil, ramy, shawn, cutler and martinez comeback, beyeke, dexter.........
-
Pee Wee Herman approved.
-
Looks interesting, and I'll definitely watch it one way or another, but are they actually showing this in the cinemas though alongside all the Hollywood blockbusters?

indeed they are,
don't be surprised if you see a group of studs eating dry chicken and potato out of their tupperware as they stand in line to get in
-
I will catch it for sure.
Looks well done..

this movie is going to have that kind of feeling you old studs had back in the 70's and early 80's walking into porn theaters
-
I will be selling popcorn bucktets with precut holes in the bottom. Butter is optional.
-
first getbigger who buys or cam this movie should upload it for other
schmoes getbiggers.
-
btw i would love to have their tape from the contest from that angle they put that little segment to that trailer. Great detail and would put more light on the Kai vs Phil arguing.

I believe that angle catches the rhinestones on the thongs just right too.
-
An obvious watch as a Getbigger.

I'm sure you'll go to the special midnight viewing in your area.
-
I will watch it in the theater just to support bodybuilding.

i agree. this year is actually much much better to film. but they couldn't know that.
but i am surprised they are like a year late? they have been trailers out forever..

yes. but this should really be ripped from high definition source. I wont watch a telesync with murky audio and blurry images.

Hard to believe that. It'll probably run in selected theaters right?? I'd be surprised if they even showed it in Sweden for example.
-
I wonder if they'll use CGI to make Phil Heath stand behind the white line with Kai Greene.
-
Sequel to Pumping Iron to be released ready for the O. They follow seven pros today getting ready (from what I can gather 2012 O). Seems to be Kai Greene, Phil Heath, Hidetada Yamagishi, Dennis Wolf, Branch Warren, Rolley Winklaar and cant seem to get the seventh one right by know. Anyway will be interesting to see this. Good news even if it's been knowns for quite some time. Any thoughts?
EDIT: no 7 will be Ben Pakulski. Dude def. trains diffrent. Check this:
-
Will be nowhere near as interesting as the original. Any chance they show the towel scene during Kai's interview?
-
There was already a sequel to Pumping Iron and it sucked , you cannot create the same aura again
The original came be out done if we could get the real story and not come manufactured bullshit story-line filled with cliches & rivalries
If someone could get a top tier pro to really let them in , the drug protocols , the dark side of getting the funds for the drugs , the side effects , the injections , the lines guys told themselves they wouldn't cross being crossed , etc , then that would be riveting but this is more of the same shit we already seen
-
I am not going to judge it before watching it but it cannot live up to Pumping Iron that's for damn sure. Not without a key element like Arnold.
But they should do a documentary on this Olympia, it is far more stacked and Big Ramy of course will make things interesting.
-
Yes a doc for this years O would be something. Will be interesting to see Ben Pakulskis high tech training havin doctors following him when he work out and taking a blood sample before work. Atleast he wont die form modern bodybuilding. If he does maybe they can put some life in him again.

Poster for the movie is out...
First movie in a long time which will actually be in mainstream theaters, including Regal and AMC...
-
On the surface it appears to be a waste of any thinking person's time and money. Dig deeper and you'll find that to be true.

The film busts some myths about the sport along the way – like the notion that bodybuilders use steroids to get buff. Yudin acknowledged that while performance-enhancing substances are out there, not everyone is using them. And according to the reigning Mr. Olympia, and the documentary’s star, Phil Heath, who is preparing to take home his third Olympia title in Vegas on September 28, absolutely nothing can replace good old-fashioned hard work.
“We have to know how to eat right, train right and take the right over-the-counter supplements,” he told us. “There are always going to be misconceptions about what we are doing. When it comes to personal appearance, people are quick to cast judgment on people who look better than them. It’s part of the human inferiority complex.”
-
Complete filt!
-
its going to be at clearview, so i get to see it for free... :D
-
Like that film will fool anyone, complete bullshit..
-
I et the Mayor of Bodybuildings seat in the theatre will be good and sticky after, along with the other schmoes.
I bet that the lineup for this movie will be plenty of skinny fat schmoes who defend their straightness in pubic
-
What a bunch of crap.
-
You know the Mayor of Bodybuilding has been camping out in front of the theater for the last week!

If you look closely at the computer monitor behind Gayor, you can see that he's got a virus warning from all those schmoe websites he's been browsing.
-
Gonna be a lot of "clap-clap-clap" sounds coming from the back rows full of grown men with neck beards and coke-bottle glasses.
-
lol did I see a vial of test and a rig??? ;D
-
Wow. From a guy who grew up immersed in bodybuilding........that trailer looks like shit. The general public will shun this.
-
Playing at many AMC theaters.

The public already shuns bodybuilding. What's new?

AMC and clearview cinema...wow this is going really mainstream

I will be attending the Los Angeles Premiere of the movie on September 18th at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Quite a few people will be there, including Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. I have only heard good things about the movie so far, so I am kind of excited to watch it. Being there backstage at the Olympia last year when they were filming some of it was pretty cool. as well as actually knowing and seeing many of these competitors as they started their bodybuilding careers to being one of the top bodybuilders in the world.
-

true. But the original had a central character who was bigger than life. I see no one here that can get the general public interested in watching. If there was just someone here charismatic enuff in bb today it could have been good. One thing, these guys act like they r doing something gangster by getting in their underwear n prancing on stage. Listen to the dialogue. They take themselves too serious. It's like Arnie saw the absurdity of it all and didnt take himself too srsly. He trained his ass off yes and was a fierce competitor but he joked about it all. He was on the side of the audience. Everyone could relate to him. He was more responsible for the bb craze more so than the virtues of bb itself.

well I hope I eat my words. I hope it's good.
-
While trying to silence my inner schmoe in an effort to remain objective and neutral, I think it looks like a pretty cool movie all things considered.
-
I could be wrong, but I swear I watched the leaked copy a few months back when it was on YouTube. Anyone else see this?

No no you are spot on.
It can never be gangster or a real sport as in athletisicm like Phil and Branch and some other try to make it out to be. It's a ridiculous thing altogether, any sane person knows.
Come one, getting undressed and posing?
But today it's all "hardcore workouts" and angry faces on stage and in the ads and UFC like poses. Making it even more silly to the general public.

Ouch. That's what it boils down to in the end. A beauty pageant where everyone meticulously injects themselves with drugs and has even more mental health issues. I still love bodybuilding but I just keep it more to myself now...
-
Does anyone know where to see it in toronto, since moving here I'd like to do something related to the sport, and going to an actual competition is far too gay.
