Don't shoot the messenger True Adonis!
Hamburger chef Jamie Oliver has won his long-fought battle against one of the largest fast food chains in the world – McDonalds. After Oliver showed how McDonald’s hamburgers are made, the franchise finally announced that it will change its recipe.
Oliver repeatedly explained to the public, over several years – in documentaries, television shows and interviews – that the fatty parts of beef are “washed” in ammonium hydroxide and used in the filling of the burger. Before this process, according to the presenter, the food is deemed unfit for human consumption. According to the chef and hamburger enthusiast, Jamie Oliver, who has undertaken a war against the fast food industry, “Basically, we’re taking a product that would be sold in the cheapest way for dogs, and after this process, is being given to human beings.”

Mmm. That's probably what makes them so delicious.
-
i dont know what they put in the buns but they are actually what tastes so good.
Good for him tho, if macdonald feels the need to change something that's probably cause he was right.
-
Feeling like downing a mcfeast and double mccheese now. wash down with some fries dipped in ketchup.
-
In b4 the chef at Bulli can't make a burger 1/2 as good.
-
fat tongued 'mockney'

yeah, but there s artificial good and natural good. What give the good taste to mc donalrd burgers certainly aint natural.
-
What Ive been saying all along its the lowest form of food. Their meat smells putrid.
-

Maybe they're better in the US but I don't even find them tasty. There's always this wierd waxy thing going on and the flavor is definitely unnatural.
-
burgers from mcd are not that good. carls and bk are far better.

Ah, I don't know, they're all better than f'n endless chicken breasts.
-
wendy's used to piss all over mcd's. pity the sheep didn't realise this >:(
-

they re probably from the same factory...but the receipe must be slighlty different , diff chemicals to give a "different taste"...

Wendy's are still fantastic. Among the best for fast food chains.
-
Wendy's are still fantastic. Among the best for fast food chains.
I keep hearing this. Is it better than a freshly made Carls Jr burger?
-

sadly, wendy's closed down in the uk.
-
I keep hearing this. Is it better than a freshly made Carls Jr burger?
In my opinion, hell yeah. Sometimes I'd even rather have Wendy's instead of In N Out, which is really saying something.
-
sadly, wendy's closed down in the uk.
Oh man, that's a shame.
-
You poor fuckin' saps. Resorting to fast food when you can get to the local butcher and have him grinnd you up some real sirloin. Get a wood fire going and you can have the greatest And cheapest burger possible. Those burgers'll be sizzling and spitting and done by the time your fatasses get outta the drive thru. Fry up some sweet potato fries in beef tallow and you are good to go.
-
In reply to all of the bad press this process has received from Oliver, the company Arcos Dorados, the franchise manager for McDonalds in Latin America, said such a procedure is not practiced in their region. The same, it should be noted, applies to the product in Ireland and the UK, where they use meat from local suppliers.
Damn. Now I really wonder what a royal with cheese tastes like.
-
wendys has that square patty though seems odd
-
If the unfit food isn't bad enough you also get saliva and semen added by the underpaid teenage workers.

I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully it happens rarely.
-

Yes, Wendy's is high quality for fast food. Compared to McDonald's it's like home cooking.
-

Dave Thomas was all about efficiency and not wasting food/energy. Square burgers fit a square griddle better.
-
I'll stick to basic In and Out burgers
They now even have them in dallas :)
-
Maybe it's just because I grew up with them in socal but I think In-N-Out is severely overrated.
They overcook their burgers till they're dry.
The patty is the foundation of a good burger and if the patty aint right the burger aint right.
-
Falcon would not eat one.
-
I had a burger a few months ago with Pepper Jack cheese, jalapeños, and peanut butter. It was great.
-
Falcon would not eat one.
Bury it in the earth and he'll eat it eventually.

;D

In a 2001 interview Wendy's founder Dave Thomas said that he had been inspired to go into the hamburger business by fond memories of a Kewpee Burger restaurant near his childhood home in Kalamazoo, MI. Kewpee Burger was not like modern franchises in that each location was independently operated and sold their own recipe of hamburgers. The location in Kalamazoo sold square burger patties.
So the reason Wendy's started selling square hamburgers is because a square hamburger was what Dave Thomas was used to from his childhood.
-
come on now
we all know Adonis wouldnt put that shit in his body
only trolling you guys and you're still falling for it 5yrs later
no one should be eating that shit-----if you trust a corporation like McDonalds for your nutrition you deserve to be buried in a mass grave...otherwise people like us will be paying for these fat animals enormous and constant medical bills
-
well, Oliver has his perspective. Another perspective is that McDonalds has taken something inedible and made it available for consumption for dirt cheap. And 'generally regarded as safe' by the FDA. ;)
Just sayin.
-
Mmm. That's probably what makes them so delicious.
This is a matter of opinion. I have no taste for McDonald's hamburgers at all.
-
Did you ever open up a McDonald's hamburger and look at the color of the meat? That is not meat!

I understand. But, man, I can put down at least five of those things. Mmm mmm. My opinion, of course.

I don't get all the love for Wendy's. Tastes like shit, worse than any other fast food chain.
-
when I worked fastfood in highschool a friend of mine also working took a dump in one of the hanging plants....caca was there for a month LOL.
fyi, the plant was super healthy afterwards.
oh yeah, wendy's is great.

You got me baffled. I've never had a Wendy's burger that was less than perfect.

I just ate at 5 Guys for the first time an hour ago. Phenomenal burger, the best fast food burger I've had, but I was so good I can't even call it fast food. I watched them take my 2 fresh patties and bacon out of the fridge and throw em on the griddle and cook it right there in front of you. Amazing meal.

Agree, Five Guys is amazing.

Perhaps it is a regional thing, but all the burgers I have had there have been the greasiest most tasteless pieces of shit I have ever had the pleasure to experience... would take the ammonia soaked big mac any day over that garbage

Pink Slime (beef scraps washed in ammonia) was all in the news a year ago

Which cut of beef do you use to make your hamburgers?

i don't get the five guys hype... it's okay, but i've always preferred the real, grimy, nasty FAST FOOD fast food burgers: mcdonalds, dicks (if you've been to seattle, you know what i'm talking about), in-n-out, etc.
these sort of "in between" fast food / regular restaurant hybrids like five guys, carls junior, red mill (again, seattle), etc. don't impress me. more high-end burgers (at real restaurants) can be really good, but it somehow just doesn't seem right... like burgers are just meant to be cheap, dirty food that goes straight to the gut in a hugely pleasing, very unnatural way.
-
Burger King and Hardees need to be added to the Good Burger List
-

burger king is by far the worst-----they use that "pink slime" crap too (ammonia something...which has, by research, not even proven to be very effective in reducing E-coli)

whats up warlord?
I get your point but those dudes are doing it for performance enhancing effects whereas the fast food places are doing it just so they can sell you pieces of meat so wretched my dog wouldnt eat it, without a care to how it affects ones body.
plus the shit they add is way more carcinogenic than steroids

No I agree, I like nothing more than some mcdoubles and fries once in a while and if I knew this Ammonia stuff I'd probably think twice. My point is that if something is not 'FDA approved' it doesn't automatically make it unapproved by humans. I enjoy eating a lot of african dishes that my friends make, but if the government stood in the kitchen and watched them prepare it they would tell me I can't eat it, it's not 'fit'. It tastes great!
Now carcinogenic....that's a different issue

True...if you're only talking a couple of dollars extra for something a little more trustworthy - it's worth it.
Wierd thing is about this tiny tit Jamie Eastrogen, I just looked at the McD's UK website and in their FAQ's it states that they have never used 'pink slime' aka 'ammonia gas' in any of their patties....looks like someone's paying Mr Olivoil to make up shit lol

-
Probably on McD's payroll.
-
When I was in the air force in the 80's I used to get sent to San Diego Naval Base regularly.
Saw a fair bit of California during those days.
I couldn't get enough of Bob's Big Boy :P
Best burgers ever.
-
Not a word from Gollum.
-
Can you still get a big boy to stuff into your mouth?
-
allways thought something was wrong with Mcdonalds burgers.
-
what tastes good in junk food etc is the proper combo of sugars, salt, fats.
they all hire specialist and spend much money on that.
to play tricks on your mind.
in mcdonlads defense, well, theres so much other food out there that nobody would be eating if they knew how its prepared and made.
Exactly.
I'll bet there are thousands of people who wouldn't eat Mcdonalds 'because it's not even meat blah blah' and then pop out at lunch to get a hot dog from a street vendor, so they can eat some 'real food' oh brother

this is what is being added to fast food burgers
Not me.
Am I the only one that feels 'odd' after a McDonalds? I rarely have them but maybe 2 or 3 times a year I'm stuck with hungry kids and it's the only thing available. I alway feel queasy afterwards and no other food makes me feel like that.
I don't mind a burger, I like to make them myself and cook them - but there is something very wrong with food that makes you feel like that afterwards.
