I'm sure thousands of incidents go unreported, the good officers are now afraid to come forward out of fear and internal investigations is merely the police investigating themselves which is obviously a massive conflict of interest lol, and whistleblowers are blackmailed into oblivion , this is all the result of the government (or the people) not limiting police powers and they have turned themselves into a ungovernable sovereign entity controlled by a hierarchy of psychopathic and sociopathic authoritarians who have been given free reign to militarize themselves and take an aggressive stance against the civilians , who of course pay their salaries! total reform is too late. most gov't orgs have gotten so out of hand they can't even be stopped at this point fbi , cia , nsa are almost separate entities from gov't altogether , with virtually unlimited powers and resources. and just to give you some hope for your fellow citizen , i would say majority of sheeple will defend the police's actions, no matter how sadistic, horrid or sickening they might be :)

I don't really get all the cop hate, which has always seemed to be the consensus here. Is it based on personal experience or on the anecdotal YouTube videos and newspaper articles? Obviously not saying there aren't corrupt chumps on the force, but is this the guy you usually run into in real life? The animosity just seems to be a bit overwhelming.
Over the years, I have been arrested numerous times for various drunken misdemeanors, shit I'm certainly not proud of today. But I was never mistreated or disrespected at any time, even when I was being an obnoxious asshole. I've dealt with city police, sheriffs, and highway patrol, and they've always treated me decently, even giving me extra blankets, or extra food, or allowing me to call someone to pick up my car so it wouldn't have to be impounded, stuff they certainly weren't obligated to do. The only bad thing they ever did was arrest me, which I totally deserved. Just doing their job. Different cities, counties, several different states, always treated fairly.
Shit, nowadays, on the rare occasion I get pulled over or something, they almost always cut me loose without citing me for anything, just warnings. I'm polite, they're polite, they move on. I can remember maybe one or two clowns over the years who possibly overstepped their authority just to fuck with me. But even then, their partners or sergeants would be decent and even things out.
So tell me, what are you guys experiencing out there to make you hate them so much? Hell, maybe I've just been lucky, I don't know. I'm genuinely confused here.

Its definitely a fine line. I have never been arrested for anything. However, when I have been pulled over for traffic violations, I always respected the officer. I have never experienced police brutality. Similarly, when walking around the street, I pass by cops who never stop me or anything.

Some people join the police force to troll, I'm positive of it. I remember when I was a 14 year old skateboarder, skating some school stairs on Christmas eve. So the fat prick physically forces me into the police car using my head as a battering ram before he can even give me a chance to go with them peacefully. They proceeded to drive me and a friend around our local town for 30 minutes on some weird mind fuck, saying we wouldn't be going home for Christmas/we were going to turn out like Tdongz and that they were going to make sure shit got serious enough to fuck us up for a long time (our eyes were rolling ::))...then the fuckers drove us about 4 miles from either of our houses (after asking us where we lived)and just dumped us there. The cops in Superbad had more merit than those pair I swear it ;D

I know they deal with mostly assholes all day, but they should have been above that. I think it's a bad idea that they are required to serve x amount of years behind bars, because they become super jaded before they even hit the street.

I'm sure it wasn't the first by any means, but "A Clockwork Orange" nailed this back in about 1972. I've known a lot of cops. I'd say about a quarter were outstanding people. 50% just mindlessly did their job, but the LCD 25% ... oh, boy. They were the biggest bullies and assholes who grew up just aching to do legally what they otherwise did illegally as kids and teenagers: beating people up, stealing their stuff, all but abusing women, etc.

Alot of psuedo-lawyers who think they know the law, but in reality they don't know shit, which only feeds the paranoia about "police brutality" "police state" etc etc. The truth is cops are just municipal employees, city employees. Now in particular where everyone is a "special little snowflake" and NOBODY takes responsibilty for their actions it is very popular to question and criticize police. Media loves to feed on this paranoia too.
Because police aren't necessarily in the business of cutting breaks they always come off as dicks, even when professionaly doing their job. Even when the majority of peoples interactions with cops is when they are pulled over for something they actually did wrong and still get a break. So people personalize it nobody ever says "I was late to work today and flying down the freeway and I was pulled over".... fuck no, its more like "I was late for work today because this dickhead cop pulled me over." Its never "I was pulled over for speeding" it's always "I was pulled over because I'm black" or "I'm hispanic in a white neighborhood" or "I drive an expensive car" or whatever makes you a special little snowflake.

A police officer from Washington Township in Toledo, Ohio is on paid leave after what started as a "routine" traffic stop took an incredibly nasty turn.
The cop in question had reportedly just pulled over a man's daughter-in-law for a license plate violation ... and then somehow things got ugly, with the family - including a 14-year-old boy - being thrown on the ground while the officer pointed a gun at their heads.
"Aaron Tatkowski said the officer, Eric Hart, was speaking to Meyers in a way that upset him, so Tatkowski got out of his truck and questioned the officer's actions. Hart told him to get back in his car and Tatkowski said he obliged but what happened next shocked the neighborhood.
"Next thing you know, I'm yanked out of the truck and it made my girlfriend say a few things. He yanked her out of the truck." Tatkowski told WTOL 11.
He, along with his girlfriend, daughter-in-law, and 14-year-old son say they were pulled out of the truck and thrown to the ground by Officer Hart. His two granddaughters remained in the truck and were not involved.
That's when a concerned neighbor fired up a camera and captured the rest of the events on camera. At one point, Hart was pointing a Taser and a hand at the family, pointing them directly at Tatkowski's head as he lay on the road next to his son.
Tatkowski says he followed all of the officer's directions but was arrested.
Hart was treated at the scene for scratches. The police department stands by Hart's actions, saying the family was not listening to the officer's commands."

I'm no psychologist but... I had a very good principal in school. Didn't matter because anytime they were around, or I was in their office, I was nervous. They were an authority figure and I associated them with authority and discipline. Didn't matter all the good things they did, when I was out of line they were the person who pulled me back in line. So when someone sees a cop in their rearview mirror naturally they are nervous because most people have gotten traffic tickets and the association is clear. Officer Cahill, 34, is charged with making a material false statement. If convicted, Cahill faces a maximum term of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, up to three years supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
Cahill, a 10-year veteran assigned to the 24th District, has been suspended for thirty days with the intent to dismiss.

Policeman held in killing of Internet acquaintance
BERLIN (AP) — A German police officer has been arrested on suspicion of killing and chopping up a man he met on the Internet who had long fantasized about being killed and eaten, authorities said Friday.
The handwriting and document analysis specialist was arrested on Wednesday at his workplace, the Criminal Technical Institute in the eastern city of Dresden, authorities said. He told investigators that he fatally stabbed the victim in the throat on Nov. 4, hours after the two met in person for the first time.
The 55-year-old said he then chopped up the body into multiple pieces. The suspect pointed officers to a number of places around his property, south of Dresden, where he had buried the remains, city police chief Dieter Kroll said at a televised news conference.
The killing happened about a month after the pair first met in an Internet chat room, police said. The 59-year-old victim, whose name wasn't released, traveled about 400 kilometers (250 miles) by bus from Hannover to the meeting.
Police started looking into the case when the victim was reported missing Nov. 11 by a colleague. Two days later, witnesses told officers that "the missing man had fantasized since his youth about being killed and eaten by another person," Kroll said.
There is no indication at this point that the suspect ate body parts, and the suspect denied having done so, prosecutor Lorenz Haase said.
He said that the suspect didn't mention whether the two had any sexual relations before the killing.
"That's under investigation," Haase said in a telephone interview. "He said that his victim wanted to be killed and he fulfilled this wish."
Investigator Maik Mainda said the victim and the suspected killer maintained "very intense contact by chat, by mail, by SMS but also by telephone" after first becoming acquainted in early October. The website they used says it deals with "exotic meat."
The men agreed to meet up in Dresden on Nov. 4, and agreed that the killing should take place shortly afterward, Mainda added.
Police are only just beginning their investigation, he said.
"I can't give any conclusive information yet about the actual motivation of the suspect for killing his victim. We are investigating in all directions."
The case appears to have at least some parallels with a saga that both fascinated and appalled Germany a decade ago, when confessed cannibal Armin Meiwes was arrested for the killing of an Internet acquaintance. Meiwes, who captured the killing on video, said his victim answered an Internet posting seeking a young man for "slaughter and consumption."
Meiwes was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He argued unsuccessfully to Germany's highest court that the killing should be classified as a mercy killing and maintained that his sentence was disproportionate.
The Dresden case "will show how easily people can come together with the most gruesome fantasies on the Internet and exchange their perversions in increasingly crass manner," police chief Kroll said. "In 99 percent of cases, they get their kick out of the exchange."

so I park by the gym and the cop parks at about a 30deg angle behind me about 2 car lengths... and i'm watching HER... circle around with her FUCKING GUN OUT AND POINTED AT ME!
I show my hands and ask "what the fuck is going on?!"
the skittish bitch (must've been a new cop... long blond pony tail) keeps her gun on me and asks where i'm coming from.. so I tell her I just closed the gym.
"what gym?"
uh... the gym 20 yards to your left.. what gym do you think?
"what time do you close"
uh... MIDNIGHT
"where are you going?"
I forgot to set the alarm to I turned back to go set it.
THEN FINALLY the bitch holsters her sidearm.
approaches the car (she had been asking me these questions from about 10 yards away)
do you have ID? so I show her... thank god she didn't run it, else i'd have gotten searched for sure... I distract her with "what's going on?"
she says "oh, we have an alarm at 'the big box store', and you're the only car in the area"
then she says, do you have a shirt? uniform? luckily I was wearing it... and not an adidas tracksuit or something.
then she lets me go.... oh, well thank you for LETTING ME GO. girl. (needless to say I brought the package back inside and made no delievery that night. lol)
I mean... what the FUCK? i'm the only CAR in the parking lot (and it's a fucking LS430... not some piece of shit Honda Civic or something you'd expect a burglar/thief to be driving) so that gives you the fucking right to POINT YOUR WEAPON AT MY FACE?

I think cops are grumpy because they quickly realize they don't really like their job. and so they get grumpy, add to that steroids and stress, and a short second loss of control
