Football coaches accused of bullying after Texas high school beats opponent 91-0: http://nbcnews.to/18GLMsN
The parent of a North Texas high school football player has filed a bullying complaint against a rival team's coaching staff after a 91-0 loss. The undefeated Aledo Bearcats have made a habit of soundly defeating their opponents this season. After seven games, the team is outscoring the opposition 485-47.
A Western Hills High School parent filed the bullying complaint after Bearcats defeated the Fort Worth school 91-0 on Friday. "Never; I've never heard of a bullying report in a football game," Aledo coach Tim Buchanan said Monday. Buchanan said he started substituting players in the first quarter. He also said the game clock ran continuously starting toward the end of the third quarter.
But when asked why the team did not simply start kneeling the ball -- in effect, stop trying to play the game -- Buchanan was clear in his answer. "To go out and tell your kids, 'No, I don't want you to play hard, because we're ahead,' that's against every fundamental coaching strategy that you have," he said. Western Hills head coach John Naylor told NBC DFW after Monday's practice that he disagrees with the parent who claimed that the Aledo coaching staff bullied his players.

240, I was going to post this.
Ridiculous for someone to cry bullying. It really diminishes the aspect of what someone who is really bullied goes through.
I bet most getbiggers were bullied. :-\ :-\ :'( :'(

Class act all the way.
It is bullying of sorts, it must have been very humiliating for the kids on the losing side.

Not really. I live right down the road from Aledo and am very familiar with that program. They've been a powerhouse who have been blowing out teams for the past few years and the team they played is terrible and have already lost a few games by 50 or 60 points.
Aledo had their 2nd and 3rd strings in by the second quarter. What else can ya do??

Should be some kind of mercy rule. Fuck.

I watched an ESPN piece on this one team that was VERY good... they would have a 49-0 lead after the 1st quarter....
So, as expected, they would have to put in their scrubs, and limp out with a 83-0 in, instead of going to 150 points or something.
WELL.... when the playoffs came... the starters were only used to playing for 1 or 2 quarters... and when they were up against other elite teams, they LOST because they didn't have that 60 minutes of actual play time together every week.
So I'm fine with losing by 150 points from time to time... in real life, we all have days when everything goes wrong and life kicks you in the balls 4 or 5 times in one afternoon. Sucks, but by the time you're 14, 15, 16, 17... it's a lesson you should learn - and meaningless points on a scoreboard are among the more minor problems in life to have. Maybe just turn off the scoreboard after it's 70 to zip. But you gotta let the kids play.
BESIDES>>> can't the team losing by 80 points throw in the towel at anytime? Just forfeit the game?

Time to let the 3rd string bench warmers live their dream. Put in the most nonathletic linemen and let him play running back.

Should be some kind of mercy rule. Fuck.
I think 70 after halftime would be reasonable.
It's pretty damn hard to come back from that in a half and allows the other team to keep a little more dignity.

football = epic alpha sport of peace ::)

Is the excessive padding not enough for these betas, and they're demanding protection from losing also?

Fortunately this happened in Texas so more than likely the state will tell her to improve the way she is raising her son so he can be a man not a limp wristed beta twink.
It's when shit like this happens in places like Cuntnetticunt that stupid rules get enacted.

I'm not sure about prep now, but when I played in Louisiana they would kill the game when there was a 60 pt margin. But I'm assuming it comes down to the parish or district.

Lol it was ONE female parent in Texas and practically everyone called her full of shit...it was big talk on the local radio yesterday.
Even a couple women that called in agreeing at first that it was bullying were open minded enough to change their mind once they learned a little more about the way a football game is handled when one team is 10 times better than the other.
So we are not headed over the cliff, yet....

Honey Badger is gonna be a solid pro for 10 years.

Touch down, SHUT DOWN!

91 points? Hell they probably could have beat that team using their cheerleaders and water boys.

I was watching the Baylor game this weekend and saw they were up something like 51-0 at the end of the 3rd. I was thinking what is the point of finishing this game? The other team is obviously overmatched and will just end up humiliated. For Baylor it is now just a risk of injury. What is the point of finishing? Remember NCAA are amateurs ::) aren't they?

Dont be a bully if you are kicking someones ass please be kind enough to let them land a few punches on your face also, so they feel better about themselves, they can then say man i almost won the fight.

Bad analogy. The better way to explain this game is that you knocked your opponent down and out and are still kicking and punching them while knocked out.

I disagree if they had allowed them to score some goals and the final score was 91 to 70 i am sure the losing team would have felt much better.

Many coaches have correctly stated, "It is not our job to minimize the number of points we score."

Pretty soon under the Kenyan Turd's regime this type of attitude will extend to the military. If our forces kill a bunch of sand neegar terrorists (are there other kinds?) and decisively defeat them, our own soldiers will be required to kill half of our own forces so that the enemy does not feel we humiliated them. This will surely make the third world love us and welcome us with open arms. ::)

Check out my thread on the sports board concerning Baylor football.
Other teams better get used to humiliation when they step on the field with that team. 8)

for the top 5 teams in the nation, margin of victory DOES matter.
If FSU ekes out a 31-30 win over a scrub team, while Oregon wins 78-3 over a scrub team this weekend, then #3 oregon moves up to #2 in the polls.

You do realize the coaches talked before the game. After the 1st quarter, all starters were pulled. The other team just sucked. I guess this Mom wants her kid to receive a "participation ribbon."

This happened at a women's cricket world cup a few years ago, the openers were winning all games for Australia i think, then in the final they got out early and the rest of the team collapsed due to no batting practice.
