Still think size will help you?
And that kid is only using his hands.
-
P3ople that think size > skill are usually ignorant or are in for a rude awakening.
however, there are times where size and strength can play a crucial role.

boxing + bjj
you cant go wrong

Ive said it a million times, there is "in shape" and in fighting shape. Anyone who thinks they are in shape need to go try and wrestle for a few minutes and that will let you know you arent really in good shape.
size and strength play a crucial role in most fight, if they person with size and strength know how to leverage them.
Also this is a shitty example, if that was a street fight the turn out could have been much different
-
Keep your hands up, and your chin down!

Are you saying that the kid does not know how to fight dirt? most people that knows/or have some skills" beginner to moderate" already knows how to fight dirt.

what I am saying is that in an actual street fight where grappling would have been allowed the bigger/stronger guy would have had more of an opportunity to utilize those advantages.
he doesnt have that same ability when just boxing

Hmmmmmmm!! yes and no. we don't know if the kid knows how to wrestle.. right?
And since the kid is way more conditioned than the other dude. that is a great advantage. to take someone down takes a lot energy. and how the f*ck the guy would take that kid down? he couldn't even punch the kid. and the kid was in front of him.

hmmmm YES it defintely would allow him a better chance to utilize his size and strength. This isnt even a fucking question....
now whether he could capitalize on it goes back to my first post...

It's known as the gentle art ::) ;D
It is because we don't like violence, and we call it "smooth art".
We will just put you to sleep..well unless we are in a different mood, than we will break something an arm,leg foot, neck or your spine. ;D

I rolled around with some 250-300lb cops until I got a wicked back injury. Throwing me didn't seem especially exhausting for them. There was just no one in my light weight class in that club, and that weight made a whole lot of difference.

Are you an expert grappler Tapeworm?

big difference between rolling around with someone in practice and doing so when youre both trying to win or have something at stake
-
Are you an expert grappler Tapeworm?
Ask your mom!!
Far from it. The 3-dan who ran the club wasn't a big guy and he did ok with the fat blue belts. I had no chance at all tho.
It was still fun (I liked throwing more than rolling) but getting hurt scared me off. Potentially losing my work from a judo injury seemed like a dumb gamble so I quit going. :(
-
Why most people think that a guy with years of fight experience, does not know how to fight dirt " no rules"?
I can tell this, in a fight situation, if i have to "street or life and death situation", you will loose an eye or both eyes...at least. not bragging.
-

BINGO

BINGO
It took you that long to figure it out? ;D no disrespect tape. ;)

BINGO
Still, the blue belt 6'2" 300lb cop gave me a little more trouble than his blue belt 5'5" 110lb daughter. But I'm no expert.

lmao at you guys. The best combo is wrestling with striking. Mma is dominated by past wrestlers.

agree, size dont help at all.crazy and skill and suprise momentum will always win over inflated muscle.
a mscular body is just that, normal guy with inflated muscle, his liver, kidney, nose, chin, are all open for the ko.
that said, brutal liver punch at 58seconds haha, that was precisely the beginning of the end.
the kid was even quite cocky, no guard up, waved out of the haymakers from the "streetfighter"
lol, the haymakers looked at times as if he fights a different person which isnt even in the ring haha
at 2min 20 the kidney massage began ;D
at 2min 39 the "stretfigher" probably didnt know his name anymore
wish one of the loudmouth "internet fighters" stepped in the ring with arce and putting that on video.
:D

yah boxing has to be there,no?
all the wrestling int he world will not help if one cant punch or cant deal with punches,
How much are we talking? 8)
it will never ever happen, i mean ppl like "the organisation", "bign jacked" .it would be hillarious to watch.
something lie this haha.this is the most hilarious boxing video i ever seen
arce,i guess you speak spanish, but theres subtitles anyway ;D
i can watch this over and over and cant stop laughing.
this is precisely how "Bigjacked"(the org) vs arce would go down.
;D

Do you have to tell everyone? f*ck can't trust people anymore.

I am used to breaking people WITH rules. I can easily break people with OUT rules.

Went to GTMO couple of times.. someone said something similar to me once.
-
Some folks on this thread don't follow combat sports, I guess.
If size doesn't matter, then how come all combat sports have weight classes?
Also, in terms of which combat sport by itself is the most important? It's got to be wrestling/judo.
With offensive and defensive wrestling/judo skills, you dictate where the fight happens (on the feet or on the ground).
Not so easy to do a lot of damage with wrestling (in most environments, anyway) but when used for offense it's all about taking down your opponent and staying on top of him. Striking skills when you're under a wrestler are almost useless.
BTW, the OP's video shows boxing, not fighting.
-

Pretty much true, especially if it's in a cage (vs. in a ring).
-
boxing + bjj
you cant go wrong
Unless you're JDS and you have to fight Cain. ;D
-
boxing+wrestling+judo+muay thai+bjj = ;)
Need to be able to defend all of those, for sure.
I'm curious, though: How would you describe the skillset of Fedor in his prime? (And is having the core strength to "animal shake" your way out of submissions a skill? lol)

so true. I had to quit wrestling because of my back and started to go to the gym. 3 years later i tought i was in shape and went back to the wrestling club just to train with them for fun. Well the day after muscles thst i didnt even know existed was so sore it was not even funny. And at the training session to was not fun cause my condition was so bad
-
Put it in perspective, in what situation are we talking about? In the ring with gloves?
A 20 year old who can't fight for shit can stab a extremely talented 15 year old boxer with a knife if he is mental.
Look... Fighting is bad, mm'kay

Brutal truth. Back when I was a chubby judoka we'd often get runners and triathletes come by who would brag about how well conditioned they were. They always tapped inside of 2 minutes from not being able to breathe. Breathing is not as easy when there's a fat guy (me) on top of you, choking you. ;D
-
boxing sparring is not a real fight
too many unrealistic factors
-
tall dude was gassed after the first flurry what an idiot, people shouldnt fight based on my instructional videos
-
What exactly does this video prove??
That a boxer can beat a non boxer at boxing?

That's the funniest thing I have ever seen. :D . Nearly choked on my pre workout pizza. I like the free punch he gives his opponent at the start. His buddies watching must have been pissing themselves after hearing him brag about how good he is for years. ;D
-
the guy in the singlet doesnt look more muscular than the guy in the tshirt
in fact it could be opposite plus height advantage
video also looks fake
-
tall dude was gassed after the first flurry what an idiot, people shouldnt fight based on my instructional videos
trained fighters control their adrenaline and breathing
other guys dont
someone with decent cardio will gas out in a fight environment like that very quickly
adrenaline dump and fucked up breathing
guy was expending all his energy throwing shit haymakers while the boxer picked him apart
-
Size and strength does matter vs opponents with similar skill.

yes this is unbelievably hillarious in so many ways, its literally overwhelming me to laugh even harder with any second tht the fight keeps going ;D
the splits, the offering first punch, and when the headpiece turned on his head hahahaha ;D
-
Boxing is a sport, it isn't real fighting. A high school wrestler would render him unconcious in less than a minute.

martial arts ranks dont mean shit here is a blue belt beating a black belt in a tourament.
-
:D ;D

I am used to breaking people WITH rules. I can easily break people with OUT rules.
I like when people with zero fight experience that implies without rules they are transformed into a undefeatable ninja.
Concerning size anyone who has rolled on the mats have seen the big cocky guy come in and leaves the dojo humiliated when the 150lbs blue belt repeatedly taps him out. When I was doing jiu jitsu many years ago I use to enjoy black belts from other arts coming in and getting tapped out. This was around the time the first UFC happened and no one had clue about chokes and arm locks except for three jiu jitsu schools in the United states. One in California, New Jersey and New York all connected to the Gracies.
I have also seen this in boxing. It happened to me. I always was a big boxing fan. I was lifting weights and was buff. I walked into a boxing gym and on my first visit I asked for ring time. The owner put me in with a 200lbs amateur fighter who destroyed me. I never went down. The second round the owner put me in with a 150lb guy who also put a beating on me. After a lot of training I had a string of 4 wins but it convinced me I don't like getting punched for fun.
I do find a lot of faults with some martial arts. So many jiu jitsu schools really neglect take downs. If you have trouble taking down your opponent you will catch a beating. Boxing is a vicious sport. Guys who would argue this never boxed. Boxers are taken down really easy. I really think the best fighters are wrestlers who transition into jiu jitsu. They have the conditioning. They know how to roll even if at first they stupidly give up their back all the time. Wrestlers are some of the toughest athletes bar none.

great post oldtimer
-
Dude had zero power in his punches, and was gassed 1:30 into it. Little man had some quickness to him.
-
I have an amateur boxing background altho not great, i ve just started BJJ and going to do some wrestling next year.
Will this make me a ultimate fighting machine?
-
Still think size will help you?
And that kid is only using his hands.
Once a big dude gasses out, he's just a big fat target to pick apart.
-

dude... it is under boxing rules, of cos he is just using his hands. And it seems to be something the boy trains at.
Under MMA rules, it MIGHT turn out a little different as size and strength play a bigger role.....

dude, the kid was going easy on him.after the first liver punch, it was lights out.
what makes you think if rules are off the inferior would have better chances?
yeah sure if poking eyes and biting in the neck is allowed, or having a knife or gun, then all bets are off,but please dont be gullible to underestimate professional or semi proffesional athletes.
wasnt "kimbo" "up there" as far street fighters go?some will say he only fighted victims, the same ppl who say when rules are off everythings possible etc.
but then kimbo got destroyed by some fatso cop, and well, his "professional career",lets not even go there.
stop the myth about the unrefined diamond prodigy fighters from the streets.
its literaly the same as saying some street drag racer turd would do good in the formula 1
-
most street fights take place when people are drunk as fuck
that is the greatest equalizer of all
everyone fights shit when they are drunk
-
P3ople that think size > skill are usually ignorant or are in for a rude awakening.
however, there are times where size and strength can play a crucial role.
you speak "size" about a 170lbs skinny asshole with no cardio out of breath after 2 min of "fight" against a 15 y.o.
-
It's also about skill people. If the big guy was on the same level, he would have destroyed the kid.
There is a reason for weight classes. Of course bums off of the street are gonna get worked. ::)
-
Head gear. The taller guy probably would have dropped him than stomped on his head IRL
